Part 10B:

He didn't smile or rather couldn't smile...but yet, he was forced to go back the memory lane...there were bitter memories as well that came up to his mind...

He voiced out, "changes toh hai parr ab bhi tumne chupke se games khelne ki aadat nahi bathla..."

She didn't reply...instead, she looked out of the window...

He couldn't help voice out the question which was lingering in his mind for a long time now, "kyun aayi ho waapas miss wrong number?"

Sakshi replied mindlessly, "tab bhi wrong number pe wrong timing pe aayi thi aur shaayad ab bhi..."

Her words didn't find a way out...she stopped abruptly...

Arjun looked to her side...he wondered what brought her back into his life...was it a crazy joke that fate often liked to play with him?

Well, it wasn't always crazy...there were cruel ones...

He couldn't help remember how Sakshi had tried once to snatch him away from Roshni... He had then cursed and smacked the girl who brought them both so much trouble...She had played all her games and laid traps for them but never once coming into the light! But thinking back, he felt that it was good that she didn't come before him directly at that time...if she had done that, he, himself didn't know what he would have done to her... She was his worst enemy, a threat to his love then!

Even today, he failed to understand why Roshni never wanted him to deal with her directly...He had suggested many times that he would speak to Sakshi and make her understand things as they are but Roshni plainly refused to allow that! She always said that she had her ways to deal with the girl and will do it gently and calmly and got him to promise that he would never ever step into the matter!

Though Arjun wasn't fully convinced, there was no way he could disobey Roshni's words and break the promise...so he backed off from the scene completely...

He and Roshni weren't weak...their relationship wasn't shallow...So it never once faltered...

But then as if destiny wanted their separation, just a year after their wedding, their blissful life came to an abrupt end, and Roshni was snatched away from him brutally by death!

He was lost somewhere in those memory lanes...and he mechanically continued to drive along...

Sakshi never looked to his side...perhaps, the memories of the past had made her feel guilty again...But back then, while she was at it, she never once felt that she was committing a mistake...Whatever she did was to win the man she fell in love at first sight...

She always thought what was her fault if the man she fell in love was already committed to some other girl...What was her mistake that she met him at the wrong time and entered his life at the wrong number? Why did her destiny bring her to such a point in life where she felt that if she didn't get him, she would die?

Why did she forget her ethics, her morals, and tried to sow problems in their life just to get him for herself? Why did she try to separate Roshini from him even after knowing that she was his life?

Why Sakshi? Why? She could feel questions hurled from all sides to her and all she could offer as a reply was her mad love for him...Love, which by now, she had conveniently termed it as her first and only crush!

A crush, an infatuation, an attraction she felt to a honest brilliant and handsome officer! A prince charming from her dreams...tall, dark and handsome as if he had just stepped out from the M&B novels which she used to read and dream off!

At the very first meet, actually it wasn't a meet, she saw him but he...no, he didn't even notice her...his eyes were only for her...for his Roshni!

Even after knowing that Roshni was his lady love already, she fell for him hopelessly! Though she tried to back off, she couldn't...however hard she tried, his face never left her mind...Every time, she saw him dropping Roshini at the college gate, her heart ached...her heart skipped a beat and wished she was in Roshni's place...She longed to be held in those arms and be kissed by those lips...she wanted him to voice her name instead of "ROSHNI"...yes she was jealous, insanely possessive and what not...

When she realized that she couldn't back out, she decided that she would do whatever it takes to separate them...She decided that she wouldn't give up on her love so easily!

But she didn't have to courage to come forward and confess to him...She knew his reply already...she knew that she was bound to get rejected...and her crazy devilish mind assumed that once Roshni was out of her way, he would accept her...how foolish could she get!, she could only smirk at her foolish thoughts now!

There were no logical explanations nor were justifications for her actions...It just happened...maybe it was destined to happen!

She replied without looking at him, "main aana nahi chahthi Arjun...par aana padaa...life aksar aise kuch twists and turns lethi hai jisske wajeh se hum waapas wahi aa jaathe hai jahaan se shuru kiya tha..."

Arjun let a sarcastic smile, "baatein acchi kar lethi ho...[pausing for a long moment]..par yeh twist toh tum bhi chahthi thi na? Roshni ki mauth se toh.."

She knew what he headed for...So she didn't let him complete that..."nahi...Believe me...Roshni ki mauth kabhi nahi chahthi thi...not even in my dreams Arjun!"

Arjun didn't respond to that...yeah, he knew that she wasn't that cruel...she can never be so stone hearted to wish for someone's death...He believed her atleast in that!

She continued, "uss age mein naadhaan thi...pyar ka nasha aur paagalpann sarr pe chadha tha...aur usi nashe mein galathi pe galathi karthi gayi...aap dono ke beech mein misunderstandings create karne ki khoshish bhi kiya...ek sapnon ke duniya mein thi shaayad...but I realized that i was trying to do something which was next to impossible...Roshni ne bohat samajhdaari se mujhe handle kiya...ussne subtly mujhe samjhaayi ke jo main chahthi hoom woh kabhi nahi ho sakthi! And I admire her for that!"

Arjun: agar galathi ka ehsaas hogaya tha...toh phir mujhse mili kyun nahi...hum dono ke shaadi pe kyun nahi aayi?...aise achaanak gaayab kyun hogayi?

Sakshi: [in a lost tone] patha nahi...yeh dil ke baatein hai bohat complicated hai Arjun...uss din jo teek laga wahi kiya...I thought, going away from both of you was the best gift I could give you!

A welcome silence set in after the conflicting storms...

Arjun: [breaking the silence] ab bhi mera pehla sawaal ka teek se jawaab nahi diya...ab kyun aayi ho?

Sakshi: [getting back to her chirpy mode and smiling at him] jaldi kya hai ACP sir?? Abhi toh miley hai aur yahi aapke aas paas rehne waali hoom...aapke saare sawaalon ka jawaab bhi dheere dheere deh doongi...ok? [winks at him]

Arjun: [flaring up] SAKSHI...

Sakshi: [calmly snaps him short] Arjun...[he looks to her side and their eyes meet for a small moment...she adds]...don't worry, main yahaan kisi ke jagah lene nahi aayi hoom...

Arjun instantly shoots back,"woh jagah koyi nahi le saktha...khoshish bhi matth karna..."

Sakshi smiles, "jaanthi hoom...ya yun kahun ke bohat pehle hi jaan gayi hoom...[after a few seconds of silence, she continues] kuch kaam hai jo mujhe poora karna hai...aur uss keliye ETF mein rehna bohat zaroori hai...

Before Arjun could respond, Sakshi yells as if remembering something, "stop stop...I will get down here"

Arjun stops the SUV and enquires, "yahaan?"

Sakshi: haan...mujhe uss shop se kuch kareedhna hai...woh kya hai ke ghar se bhaag aayi na?? Isiliye saath mein kuch nahi laayi...yahaan wahaan jo bhi ek dho spare dress teh wahi pe dho din se jee rahi hoom...Aur bechaari Aisha ke ward robe se bhi churaa liya...

He couldn't help smiling at that...he hated to admit but she did sound too funny at times that he was forced to smile...

Smiles which were alien to him were becoming a frequent happening when she was around...or rather when she talked such nonsense! well nonsense also sounded funny when it came from her!

Arjun: [instantly snapping out] teek hai...tum jaakhe le lo...main yahi hoom...phir ghar drop karunga...

Sakshi: nahi nahi usski zaroorat nahi hai...main chali jaavungi...

Arjun: tum boli baali abla naari kaise akele jaavogi??

Sakshi scratches her head as she was trapped in her own words while he added.."Ab jaao aur jaldi waapas aavo...tumhe yahaan beech raaste pe chodhke jaane ka risk main nahi lena chahtha...Samjhi ya samjhaavum?"

Sakshi nodded and got off while he parked the car and waited for her!

And a note for all those who want only Arakshi in this...ETF and all team members are vital for this story...and as of now, in ETF, Rathod an Aisha are having a romantic angle...so i cant avoid such scenes in my story as well! sorry but i am helpless...My story would become stagnant if i dont deviate a bit at times from Arakshi...Shree, liza, Rathod, Aisha, Chotu will have their parts here...Sorry once again!

Lovely, lovely update VIdya.

Awe...poor Sakshi had fallen in love with him at first sight while in college but he was already with Roshni.

Does she really believe it was a crush or infatuation back then? I doubt it very much, but she has her own pride and will never admit, even to herself that she has lingering feelings for him, and from what he just said she never would right?

Anyhow, I feel there is more, but I will wait for you to reveal.

P.S. I love that you will be including all members of the team in this.😉
