Another Amazing Update...Wow...rendered me speechless...
Arnav's conversation with his inner self..with his mind and his heart...amazingly written...
Loving Suman for slyly letting him know tidbits abt his loved ones...
I loved how you have penned the way he mulled over what effect his becoming an ascetic would have on the people close to him and then coming to a standstill at Khushi...
Am so happy he has decided to come back home...Has he forgiven khushi? Will he accept her in his life?
eagerly waiting to find out...Plz update soon...

His own silence screamed out the answers he was looking for, he accounted for everyone and when it came to Khushi his soul spoke to his Mother... homeward bound Arnav ...

This is by far one of the finest chapters. The language well crafted and the thought process well expressed. Superb.

As they say if your heart and mind are restless then no matter where you go,you'll never find peace.Arnav wandered everywhere for 19 months and finally found a little peace.Glad that he is returning home finally.

RB,

I have a question and you can ignore it if you choose to. Is it wrong if I think Arnav should not go back to Khushi, I am not for the tit for tat kind of settling scores? It is just that if he did not go back to her but chose to leave everything and went on to lead a life away from all that has caused him pain, I would understand him and laud his ability to be like the water drop on a blade of grass.

Does every story require a happy ending; does happiness mean togetherness with a constant reminder of the past?

Great question, of course. But I keep thinking, who defines what a happy ending is? Isn't an ending where the characters are at peace - together or not, just as happy as the alternate which promises just the same thing?

Sorry, RB. Don't mean to speculate or dictate. This story has made me wonder if maybe the forever kind of love means anything if it brings with it nothing but shadows of pain?

Whether you are a believer or not, some places of worship do bring peace. Arnav went around like an ascetic but found salvation inManasa Sarovar. You described the place beautifully.
He knows in his heart that he cannot live without Khushi and the same goes for her. The rest of the world continues but she needs him. So he has to go back to her.
Love this story and will miss it. I went through so many emotions while reading it.

Kalyaani:

He most certainly can and in a way his choice can be completely justified. However I believe that evolution of humanity wouldn't have happened with out remorse, second shot at life and starting over.

In the end its all about hope.

Humans don't want a little and are never satisfied with it. They want it ALL. Arnav wants everything too - another chance which can give him a happily ever after, serene family life etc. It isn't wrong to hope for that now, is it? He sincerely believes that the eternal happiness that every man/woman craves for lies with Khushi. Either that or his attachment to her has taken him as far as morph his psyche to strongly believe it. To ascertain this, Arnav leaves home in search for truth - truth of his heart, mind and...life?

Hope this explanation gives you another perspective.
