Thank you so much for the comments. In the characters sketch, didn't write much about Arnav and Khushi as I wanted you know this through the updates, and 'm really happy that people liked the characters 'm introducing. As you see, Khushi is a strong and confident girl, and Arnav is good, I won't say more. Yet there's more about the characters and their past. I know that the pace in which I'm writing with is not fast, but I really have to be slow.
PS: For some dialouges I have to write in Hindi and I'm not Indian, so you'll find mistakes. Pardon my Hindi and you can tell me about the mistakes I commit.
Chapter Three
~Getting Familiar~
'It smells amazing.' Khushi decided clutching the shirt in her hands bringing it more to her nose to smell it, or rather to emerge with its scent. Khushi wanted to change Muskaan's clothes, so she opened the cupboard which Arnav she shared with his daughter since the latter lives with him in the same room. Again she inhaled the scent before putting the shirt back. She scolded herself, 'Have you gone mad? Don't you know what he is going through? But why he can't move on?" She wondered.
It has been two weeks since she started her job as Muskaan's nanny. She loved being there; talking with nani, Hari Prakaash, Muskaan and some times Arnav. Khushi and Arnav had started to knock before entering Arnav's and Muskaan's room though it was difficult for Arnav to do so as it is his room; thrice he opened the door without knocking before remembering what he should have done.
When Khushi completed her first eek at Raizaada Mansion and to some extant Arnav started trusting his baby with her, he discussed the financial matters with Khushi. Nani and Hari Prakaash congratulated her for that. Khushi was happy that she could impress them as nani said, "Your parents were right to call you Khushi. You spread the happiness around you, Bitya."
As Khushi began changing Muskaan's clothes, she couldn't help but to think of Arnav, 'I wonder about the pain he feels, is it just for is wife's death? But I saw guilt some times in his eyes.' Khushi sighed thinking of the mesmerizing eyes he has; the eyes which can melt anything, which is deep as ocean.

"Arnavji?"
"Is Muskaan alright?" A concerned Arnav asked.
"She's perfectly fine. It's Buaji; she is not ok. I want to go home early."
"Ok ask Mohan to drop you home and give Muski to nani, I'll come back early."
"Thank you." Khushi disconnected the call, kissed Muskaan and gave her to nani. "Call me once you reach home to assure me about Madhumatiji." Nani said.
"Ok, nani."
"Take care, Bitya. God bless you."

"Neend nahi aara hai?" Arnav asked caressing Muskaan's cheeks while he was lying beside her trying to make her sleep, She nodded pouting.
"Kya hua, baby? Papa hai na."
"Kusi kaha?"
"Chale gaye." After trying in vain for an hour, Arnav decided to call Khushi.
"Hello, Ms. Gupta."
"Arnavji, what's up?"
"Muskaan did not sleep yet. What should I do?" He said frustrated, but didn't show that. For the last two years he used to make Muskaan sleep, but now he failed, after only two weeks of Khushi's coming.
"Sing for her and nuzzle her face softly."
"Ok. How's your Buaji?"
"Better than before. Thanks you."
"I'll disconnect."
'Sing! What can I sing?!' Then he remembered the only song her memorize; the one which his late wife used to sing for him to make him sleep whenever he was ill.

He sang in a low voice nuzzling his nose with Muskaan's and caressing her. He didn't notice when she slept as he was focusing on remembering the lyrics. He was surprised and happy to know that he succeeded. 'I had chose the right song' as if I know another song! But why Muskaan slept quickly after listening to it?' He shrugged the thoughts. Unknowingly for him, it's the same song which Khushi sings to Muskaan since the last two weeks. His thoughts unconsciously drifted to Khushi, he liked the way the girl affected his daughter, his nani and even Hari Prakaash., he liked the way she makes Muskaan sleep, and he liked how wise she is as she takes care of her Buaji, yet she seems crazy some times.
'She is a good girl, who can take on a responsibility very well unlike her age's girls.' He decided.

"How's your Buaji, Bitya?"
"She is better today."
"What's wrong with her?"
"She has an asthma."
"Doesn't she have sons or daughters?"
"No, nani. Me and jiji are like her daughters; she loves us a lot."
"Who can't love you, Bitya?" Nani looked at Khushi with eyes full of affection and wishes.
"You know Khushi Bitya, after Ankita's death this is the first time I feel that there is a life in this house and all because of you. Your maasi is a good woman, but youth gives another lively atmosphere." Khushi smiled and blushed.
"I'll make milk for Muski."
"Ok, Bitya."

Khushi stood on her knees and stretched her arms asking in a childish tone, "Kaun mujhe pyaar karte hai?" (I mean: who loves me. Pardon my hindi.) Muskaan, who was at a distance, ran to her exclaiming "Muski" Khushi carried her in her arms before twirling her around making her giggles fill the house.
Muskaan's giggles reached her father's ears; he was so happy to hear that, after all, whatever he is doing in life is just for her. He observed the scene affectionately feeling thankful to Khushi for what she is doing to his baby. Khushi stopped once she saw Arnav staring at them. Out of breath she said. "Papa aaya, Muski."
"Last night, she didn't sleep quickly. I think she likes the way you deal with her or rather spoiling her." He chuckled and Khushi stared at him surprised noticing the rare expression for the first time. 'Haww! Is he JOKING?!' Khushi widened her eyes. He himself did not believe what he said.
"After all, she is Arnav Singh Raizaada's daughter." Khushi used his words while Arnav raised his eyebrows.
"You're right. Good that you don't forget what I said."
"Missed me, baby?" Khushi asked Muskaan. Muskaan stretched her arms to Khushi, who listed her, as if it was an answer. Muskaan took Khushi's dupatta between her small teeth then she gasped as if she remembered something before clapping and chanting, 'Kusi Muski, Muski Kusi.'
Arnav, Khushi, nani and Hari Prakaash, who was serving the lunch, looked at Muskaan with affection. Khushi kissed Muski's right cheek and gave her to Arnav as he stretched his arms towards Muskaan.
"My baby is clever." Unintentionally, Arnav kissed Muskaan on the same cheek where Khushi just kissed her; he could smell Khushi's fruity perfume before he withdrew feeling he was doing something wrong.
Khushi had dinner with Buaji and talked with her about nani and how kind she is. When Khushi finished cleaning after dinner, she went to her room, changed her clothes and stood at the window looking at the sky thinking of her reasons to come to Delhi and how days
changed; she came here to buy sweets beside another job, but she left the first option for reasons and now she is a nanny. All thanks to Rohini Maasi (Mrs. Khanna. She is Garima's sister), who recommended Khushi for the job.
"Buaji, I've told Happyji to spread the new in the neighborhood that I'm starting my job tomorrow. It's time that I start making the sweets now.""
I'll help you, Bitya. So, let's start with jalebis."
"No, I'll make them by myself and you'll help me with others."
The job starts well from the first day; After a week, Khushi took quarter the amount of money for her and Buaji and sent the rest to Lucknow for her father's medications.
Khushi was really thankful to her maasi for trusting her to be able to take on such responsibility; she was happy that now she have a decent and regular job which means she can very well take care of her Bauji's health.
