...The cool breeze entered through the window and touched the soft silky skin of a girl who was smiling in her beauty sleep.Her sleep was disturbed by the breeze that hit the glass on the side table making a big noise enough for her to get up from her sleep. The smile vanished from her face as she heard the noise. She woke up in haste and found the pieces of glass on the floor. She rubbed her eyes while yawning and found her servant knocking the door.
Servant (in a worried tone): Madam, Is everything alright?
Girl: Yes nanny. Everything is fine.
Just then the nanny found the glass pieces on the floor and got worried. She inquired the girl about it.
Nanny: Madam, what is this? Who did this? Are you fine?
Girl: Wow! Nanny stop! So many questions in one go. Nanny, how many times should I remind you that I'm not your MADAM. Call me what you always do. And I don't know how this happened. May be it's because of the cool breeze.
Nanny: Oh! Sorry Sharon baby. You know how hard it is to forget that you are my boss and I'm your servant. Anyways, I think it's all because you left your window open even yesterday. Let me close it first.
Sharon: No nanny, let me first admire the beauty of this morning. (Peeping through the window) It reminds me of those days which I always loved to cherish. Those mornings were quite different. My life was quite different those days.
Nanny: You still can't forget him. Can you?
Sharon: Forget! I can't even think my life without him. He is my source of life, my source of breathing, my only source to face all the obstacles. His love is the only reason for my existence, for my sustenance. The love which made us two bodies with one heart, 8 years ago. I still remember that day when he expressed his love to me.
Eight years ago'
Morning alarm is striking hard enough to spoil her beauty sleep. She groaned and shut the alarm off and hid herself inside the pillow. Now she heard the ring of her cell.
By the way, on the way, humse jo mili hai zindagi'.
She searched for her cell with her half eyes open and attended the call in her half sleep.
Sharon: Good morning!
Caller: Good morning Shar.
Sharon: What is it that you called me so early in the morning?
Caller: Sharon its 8:00 AM and you are still asleep?
Sharon took her side table clock and widened her eyes to confirm the time. She jerked from her bed and answered back.
Sharon: You bimbo! Is this the time to wake me up? Couldn't you call me earlier? Today is very important day for me and you called me so late. You know that I have a date with him. My first ever date with him (She blushed a little). How could you do this to me Simmi? I have lots of preparations to do. Oh God! How m I going to do it in such a short notice?
Simmi: Shar! Shar! Shar! Relax. I just wanted you to complete your beauty sleep, so that no dark circles would appear around your eyes, and you don't have puffy eyes because of incomplete sleep. So just relax, else frowns may appear on your forehead due to the stress. Now just take a deep breath.
Sharon: But Simmi! How can I relax when no preparations are done? I did not finalize my outfit yet. How m I going to set my hair? My nails are yet not done. Which heels m I going to wear tonight? My accessories, which one of them should I wear?
Simmi: Shar! You first of all stop stressing yourself and listen to me carefully. Rinni and I have finalized everything for you. So just relax and freshen up yourself. We are going to be there in 2 hours. So chill.
Sharon: Oh Ya! Thanx a lot Simmi. ThanQ very much.
Simmi: It's our pleasure. Anything for you Shar. OK, now I got to go. Bye. See you in 2 hours.
Sharon: Ok, Bye!
Sharon took a long shower to relax her. After all it was the biggest day of her life. She wanted to be the princess of her prince in all means today. As she was patting dry her hair she heard the ringtone of her cell.
Pehle nasha, pehla khumar'
Listening to the ringtone a big grin formed on her lips and her soft white cheeks turned into crimson red. She knew it was her prince. Her Swayam!
Sharon: Hey! Good morning Swayam (with a blush).
Swayam: Good morning Sharon.
After a small silence
Sharon: I know that you are eagerly waiting for our date but I didn't know that you are so impatient.
Swayam: (After some silence) I just wanted to remind you that I'll pick you by 7:30 PM. So just be ready. We need to have some serious talking.
Sharon: (In a doubtful tone) Ya sure!
Swayam: Ok then bye! (And disconnected the call)
Sharon: Bye!
Sharon was a bit confused with his tone. She remembered the way Swayam was behaving from last 2 days.
Whole of the gang was in canteen and Swayam was indicating Sharon that he needs to talk to her as it's urgent. Sharon was in a teasing mood so she pretended as though she was unable to understand him. And was questioning him aloud that what was he trying to indicate. Swayam noticed whole gangs' attention towards him and left the canteen avoiding the question. Sharon ignored his behavior. Later in the evening when Sharon was about to leave the college Swayam dragged her to the nearby classroom without anybodies notice and told her that he wanted to discuss something important with her. But as he was about to tell her, Simmi entered the classroom in search of Sharon. Sharon hid Swayam behind the door and left the class with Simmi. At night, while Sharon adored Swayam's photo she heard the beep of her cell. The message was from Swayam which read
Swayam: Need to talk some important stuff. It's urgent. Want you to come with me day after tomorrow at 7:30 PM. Reply soon.
Sharon had a huge smile on her face, thinking that Swayam's way of asking for date is too unusual and unpredictable. She replied a YES to him.
Later next day in the college she told Simmi and Rinni about her first date with Swayam. She was too excited about it.
Her trance of thought was broken with the door bell. As she knew it was her buddies who have arrived with all the required things for her first date. Simmi and Rinni brought a dark burgundy, short knee length, sleeveless, figure hugging dress with white long chandeliers, a matching bracelet, and matching high heels. Sharon started to ready herself for her big day. Every minute detail was taken check off by Simmi. She wore very light make up with translucent peach gloss which reflected her Diva attitude, made her big oceanic green orbs look glossy which spoke thousands of words in silence, let her long hair loosen on shoulders as Swayam loved it. She kept Swayam's choice in mind and got ready. Her final touchups were almost done when she heard the ring of door bell. She glanced at the clock which showed 7:30 PM. Her white cheeks turned to crimson red as she knew it was none other than her prince Swayam. Coz Swayam was always punctual, especially in Sharon's case.
Nanny opened the door just to have a glance of the manly figure standing in front of her. Yes it was Swayam. He wore a black Armani suit, with perfectly gelled hair, holding a bunch of red roses. Nanny couldn't take her eyes off from him for quite some time until she heard him groaning.
Swayam: Hi! I'm Swayam, Sharon's college friend. I'm here to pick her up. Could you mind calling her?
Nanny: Oh! Yes! Yes! Why not!
She informed Sharon of his arrival and turned to him with an astonishing look.
Nanny: So you are the one for whom my Sharon baby is struggling so hard to look beautiful today. Though she need not struggle so much as she is one bundle of beauty herself. Come let me guide you to the leaving room.
Swayam: Thanx, but I'm 5n here. We r going to leave right now.
While he was answering he heard some foot tapping sound on the stairs. They both turned to have a glance and found the beauty of this world travelling down from the stairs. Both had their mouths open cause of the sight in front of them. They felt like an angel was stepping down on earth to grace them at that very moment. Sharon lowered her gaze and was stepping down when she glanced at the manly figure in front of her. She was blushing badly indeed finding her prince, her Swayam in front of her. They both shared a moment as their eyes struck with each other, but were disturbed by the groaning of nanny. Sharon shyly increased her pace and marched towards them. She addressed her nanny that she is going to have her dinner out tonight. Her nanny gave a small smile and cornered her.
Nanny: Sharon baby, he is the best man for you. I see eternal love in his eyes for you.
Sharon: Thanx nanny. He is indeed the best.
Nanny (whispering): Bye! Enjoy your date.
Sharon (blushingly): How did you know?
Nanny (whispering): Forgot! I'm your nanny.
Sharon gave a wide smile to her nanny as Swayam addressed her.
Swayam: Shall we? (and forwarded his hand as a gentleman to his lady)
Sharon: Ya sure! (and held her man's hand in a polite manner)
Swayam guided her to the car and opened the door for his princess and made her comfortable. And later rushed to the driving seat and started their journey for a new beginning. They reached a resort which Swayam has reserved it for them in advance. The place was completely decorated for two, with white as the theme and lavenders surrounded everywhere. He walked with his princess to the table with full grace and poise, and offered her the chair. Sharon was mesmerized by all the arrangements and couldn't utter a single word at that very moment. She knew that her prince would definitely make her feel a princess. They had their dinner and Champaign, and started a slow dance. As Swayam knew Sharon's taste, he worked on the minute details personally. Sharon expected her first date with Swayam to be exactly the way it happened today, but still the last thing was still missing. The proposing part. Sharon dreamt Swayam proposing her with a sapphire ring and she accepting it without any further delay. She was eagerly waiting for that part to fulfil. Sharon's heart began to beat with a high pace when Swayam inserted his hand in his pocket. He forwarded a beautiful box to her and bent down on his one knee.
Swayam: Sharon you r my everything, my only reason for breathing, my only hope of life. I can't imagine my life for a second without you. I'm here just because of you. You mean my world to me. I want you to know that today at this very moment I, Swayam Shekhawat wants to tell you that (forwarding the sapphire ring in the box)
I LOVE YOU, (little pause) BUT
Sharon was on cloud nine as her own dream was about to be fulfilled. She forwarded her hand to him but stopped it immediately when she heard BUT. She was unable to understand the situation around her. She felt like her whole world is going to destroy. That single BUT was ruining her life for the first time. She was unable to handle that single word BUT. She never realized how Swayam handled her BUT so many times. She felt that something inside her was dying. She stared at Swayam with a questioning look while figuring out his thoughts.
Swayam rose and stood at his place and continued.
Swayam: Sharon, I know, I mean the same to you but I can't maintain this relationship with you anymore.
Sharon was shattered at his words. A tear rolled down her cheek. She was standing there numb.
Swayam: Hey! Shar, (holding her hands)don't take me in wrong sense. I know right now I have hurt you a lot. But believe me I'm doing this for our own good, for our own best future. 3 days ago my dad found out that I'm madly in love with you. He did not like it as he thought that this is just a mere infatuation and confronted me. I accepted my true love in front of him but he wasn't ready to understand me and my love. Instead he told me that this is not true love and I must forget you forever and concentrate on my studies as I have to handle his business. I ignored him and was leaving our conversation incomplete when he offered me a proposal by saying that he wanted to test MY LOVE FOR MY SUSTENANCE. He told me to leave this college, stay away from you and continue my further studies in USA and achieve my goals. And in mean time if I forget you it's not true love and if I don't then he will surely accept my love. I rejected it at first place 'coz I knew my love is true for you and will be true till my last breath and even after. Then he confronted me and told that he wants to test YOUR LOVE FOR MY SUSTENANCE. He told that if your love is also true for me then you will happily agree with his decision and let me go away from you. Shar! I know that you love me more than anything in this world, but I had to accept his challenge for your love. Shar! Am I right?
Sharon was totally shocked when she heard this but realized that Swayam wants her love to be proved true and eternal. She gazed Swayam for a moment and wiped her tears. She went near him, handed him the ring and smiled a little at him. At first Swayam couldn't understand what she was doing. He felt that he lost his princess forever. But Sharon slowly wiped his tears and gave a small peck on his cheek and told.
Sharon: I'll prove my love for you is true and eternal. You must obey your father Swayam. I'll wait until your father accepts our love. I'll wait until my challenge is complete, until our challenge is complete. Challenge of OUR LOVE FOR OUR SUSTENANCE. But until then we must not contact each other. So all the best for your future and for our love. Good bye! Swayam.
And she left a crying heart to fight all alone with this cruel world with only one hope, hope of her love.
All these days his thoughts were her only way of survival. She breathed every moment urging only for his true love. She never contacted him in these 8 years, never wanted to know where he was. All her friends tried their best to convince her to move on in life. But she was adamant to fulfill her challenge. Coz it was not for him, not for her, but it was for their true love. She was deeply sunk in her thoughts when her trance was broken by the ring of her cell. Tears were rolling from her big oceanic green orbs remembering all that happened 8 years ago when she noticed her cell ringing. It was her best friend Rey. There was the inauguration of their 3rd branch of dance academy in last 5 years and Sharon was in charge of the event. For the very first time they invited foreign delegates to teach various forms of dance to their students. But as usual Sharon tried to ignore this event too. She was never interested in such events as her friends always tried to fix her with someone or the other. With a great force she picked his call.
Rey: Hello Sharon! Where are you? It's being late for the inauguration ceremony and there is an after party arranged for our foreign delegates. You are responsible to attend them and you still did not arrive. Plz get ready fast and be here on time.
Sharon: Rey! I told you I don't like all this ceremonies and parties. I know I'm in charge of all things and believe me all things are said and done. Simmi is looking on behalf of me. So no need to worry.
But Rey was in no mood to listen to her. He decided that Sharon will attend this event at any cost so he planned something for her. Just then the door bell rang.
Rey: Shar! No more excuses plz.
Sharon: Rey, there's someone at the door. I'll speak to you later.
Just then nanny arrived with a big parcel in Sharon's room.
Rey: Shar! No need to disconnect the call. Listen to me carefully. The parcel consists of the things you require to dress up for today's event. Rinni and Simmi had arranged them for you on behalf of me. There is a driver waiting for you at your entrance. So get ready as soon as possible and reach the venue on time. Bye!
Saying this Rey cut the call. Sharon was left with no option but to follow her best friend's instructions. She got herself ready in no time as she was least interested in attending the event or the party. She informed nanny and left her home in no time. The driver greeted her with a bunch of red roses and started for their destination. Sharon felt a bit awkward but ignored it. Later she noticed that the route the driver took was not of the venue so she immediately called Rey and inquired about it. Rey informed her that the foreign delegate they have invited is still at his resort and wanted someone from us to accompany him to the venue. So as everyone here is busy with different things I had no choice left with. So plz go and welcome him and bring him to venue on time. Sharon felt a bit uneasy but as it was her friends wish she agreed. As she was admiring the nature she felt something very unusual today. The nature reminded her of her first date with Swayam. The car stopped at the resort and to her surprise it was the same resort she had her first date with Swayam. The manager greeted her with lavenders at the entrance and guided her to the table where the foreigner was seated. Her heart started beating with a high pace than usual. She was very much confused rather than shocked for all this things. As she slowly stepped towards the table she felt the cool breeze touching her soft skin as though reminding her about her prince. She was transferring herself to the world of Swayam when she heard the manager indicating her table. She saw a manly figure standing in front of her who is facing his back to her. The manager notified Sharon that he was the foreign delegate for whom she is here and left them. Sharon was wondering as to whom that man could be. She was astonished when he turned himself and faced Sharon. Sharon felt like her heart has escaped a beat for that moment. She was awestruck when she found her prince, her SWAYAM standing there in front of her, exactly the same way as he was on their first date. A pearl drop rolled from her big oceanic green orbs when Swayam took hold of it.
Swayam: This pearl is only for me and no one has the right to hold it except me. Coz it belongs to my princess. Hey! Sharon, how are you?
Sharon couldn't utter a single word but she tried to gather her courage and ask him only one thing.
Sharon: Have we fulfilled our challenge?
Swayam (with his usual grin came closer to her and replied): Ya! We surely did.
Sharon had no bounds to her happiness. Instead she started sobbing very badly. Coz she couldn't believe her ears as she was waiting for this day since 8 long years. She gave him a hard hug and buried herself into his chest. Swayam who was expecting something similar from Sharon took her completely into his embrace and gave her a bone crushing hug. They stayed in that manner for some time when they were disturbed by a call on Sharon's cell. Yes, it was their own friend Rey.
Sharon signaled Swayam that she had to pick it and Swayam nodded in agreement.
Sharon: Hey! Rey, Ya tell me, what's up!
Rey: Sharon! Found your prince and forget that there is an event here which is to be handled by you?
Sharon: How did you get to know that I'm with Swayam?
Rey: My sweet heart! You are my best friend and I know everything about you. So now enjoy the company of your prince and don't worry about the event. We all will handle here. But don't forget to attend the after party as it's specially arranged for both of you on behalf of all your friends. And one more thing all our friends are wishing you both a great date.
Sharon: Means you all knew that the foreign delegate is Swayam and you all hid it from me. Let me meet you all then I'll show you. You all have to pay for this.
Hearing this Swayam and Rey both echoed
ReYam: Sharon! The Diva, is back.
Rey: Bye! Once again enjoy your date to the fullest.
And Rey hung the call. Sharon still had tears rolling on her cheek. Swayam wept it and placed a soft peck. Sharon blushed to deep red. Seeing this Swayam whispered
Swayam: I still have the same effect on you even today.
Sharon raised her eyes and gave a wide grin, and all of a sudden started showering her questions on him.
Sharon: Where were you all these days? How did you know about me when we were not in contact for 8 long years? How did you know that I was still waiting for you? How come it was so easy for you to arrange this meeting for us? Did you miss me? Didn't you ever feel to contact me? How the hell did we won the challenge, the challenge of OUR LOVE FOR OUR SUSTENANCE?
Swayam (widened his eyes on all her questions and took a deep breath): Sharon hold on. Firstly, let me adore you as I haven't done that for 8 long years.
Sharon: No first answer my questions as I'm curious to know what all happened to you in these 8 long years.
Swayam: Ok, let me start. As I left to USA the very next day of our date, I landed at the airport and found a driver holding a placard of my name. He told me that dad has arranged for all my needs in prior. I gave a thought and called my dad to inform him that I'll leave my life on my own terms until I achieve my goal and left from alone there. As my admission was done on scholarship basis I got accommodation in campus easily. Then I struggled hard to earn for my pocket money and other expenses. My college was in search of a dancer so I joined them and here I'm, the freestyle dancing master Swayam Shikhawat.
All these days I was only in contact with Rey. He told me everything about you. The way you changed yourself for me made my heart pain a lot. In fact I told him to convince you to move on in life. But I think that was the most stupid thing I wanted for you. Rey helped me in arranging all this for you. In fact you are looking awesome. Everything perfectly suits you. Hmmm, good choice Swayam. After all your princess is looking an angel even today.
Sharon: This all was done by you. (Blushing) Thanx. But how did your father agree for our love?
Swayam: As I made my own identity my father was upset with me, coz I did not join his business. He tried to bind me to him by making me marry with girl of his choice. It was a business deal for him, marrying me to his business partner's daughter. But I clearly showed my disinterest in that and for the final time told him that I only love you and I'm alive only coz of you. For the first time he understood what you meant to me and granted me permission to bring you into my family as not only my wife but also the daughter-in-law of Shikhawat family. And here I'm holding you in my embrace for all my life.
Sharon buried herself in his chest and she couldn't hide her blush. Swayam cupped her face.
Swayam: I'm sorry Sharon for hurting you, for making you wait for so long. I'm sorry.
Sharon: Swayam plz don't be sorry as it was our mutual decision to stay apart to fulfill the challenge, the challenge of OUR LOVE FOR OUR SUSTENANCE.
Swayam was very much happy to hear this from her and in no time they shared a deep kiss until Swayam's cell rang.
Swayam: Ha Rey! Tell.
Rey: Love birds! Don't forget that we all are waiting for you both in the party. After all it's for both of you. So be here in no time.
Swayam: We'll be right there in 15 minutes.
He hung the call and forwarded his hand to Sharon.
Swayam: Shall we! My Princess.
Sharon: Forever! My prince.
The lovebirds walked hand in hand and led towards a new journey, the journey which was achieved after
THE LOVE FOR THE SUSTENANCE.
