Chapter-3

Riya stalked to Arjun's house. She climbed the marble staircase, cursing him under her breath.

"dusht danav, das sar wala ravan, Akru Raute!"

"Subha subha nind kharab kar diya. Khud to sota nehi mujhe bhi chen se sone nehi deta. Durga maa, aapko kya main dikhai nehi deti? Ya aap bhi uski side mein vir gaye?" She complained. It was an offday for the ETF. They had no case today so everyone decided to report late today.

"aab isme meri kya galti hai? Ek to isne meri nind kharab ki pher jab main kuch bolne lagi tab mujhe hi khari khoti sunana suru kar diya. Uff'...I just hate him!" Riya muttered to herself while climbing up the stairs.

*Flashback*

Riya was peacefully sleeping on her bed. Her window was opened & the sun ray was touching her beautiful face delicately.

Riya was having a dream of her Rajkumar. She always tried to dream about her prince charming but every single time, the man in her dreams would turn into her khote neighbor. Today was no different at all. She dreamed that she was running behind her prince. There was a soft romantic background music going on. She was about to catch him but suddenly the music changed as well the scenery.

She was now standing somewhere. It was a well decorated, modern yet classy room. Wait a minute! she knew this room very well. "Where am I?", still she wondered.

Then she saw him coming from a distance. Everything was blurry but then suddenly everything became clear.

And she saw him in his black vest & gaped. (*daydream for me*)

"Tum!?!" she gasped.

He ignored her & took her hand & started to sing.( please play this awesome song called kiss me by Ed sheeran!😉)

He winked at her singing these line to her & she was staring at him with her mouth hanging open.

He came closer to her, putting her hand on his heart and his hand on her waist. Looking in her wide eyes, pulling her closer to him, he sang,

She stared on his deep black eyes. Feeling his hard breath on her face. He traced her shoulder with his hand. Then he held her around her waist, crushing her against his chest. They were now just a breath away from each other.

Singing those last lines, He started coming more close to her, breathing on her neck, leaving her breathless & surprised. Whispering in her ears, slightly nibbling it and cupping her face & bending down to fulfill his wish. She closed her eyes to feel it & then suddenly she opened her eyes.

and saw she was having this weird dream with him! She jumped off the bed startled. Shrugging her head to clear her mind.

Then she realized it was Arjun who was listening to this song in full volume and that's why she was hearing it in her dream.

She thanked to her Durga ma. She was relieved that it was a weird dream ONLY.

On the other hand, Arjun was hearing songs in full volume and reading some files. He looked into her room and found her sleeping. He grinned and increased the volume up. And voila! After a while, she woke up with a start! Score one for Mr. Raute.

Riya got up from her bed & went to the window. She saw him reading his files but a grin playing on his lips. She glared at him as she would eat him alive.

"Excuse me, Mr. Raute!" Said Riya, through her clenched teeth,

Arjun gave her a look and then looked away. "Excused", he smirked.

This triggered Riya more but she somehow controlled her anger & said,

"tumhe sunane ka sokh hai woh to mujhe pata hai par tumhe sunne ka problem hai ye aaj pata chala"

"tumne mujhe 'behre' kaha??" Arjun snarled at her.

"haan, behre hone ki saath saath tumhari dimaag ki batti bhi fuse ho gayi hai. Isiliye toh sabere sabere sab ki neend kharab karne pe tule huye ho!" Riya shouted back.

" Sabera? Miss Mukherjee bolne se pehle ek baar ghari dekhlo ki abhi sabera hai ya evening ho gaya hai!" Arjun mocked.

Riya turned to look at her clock & saw it was 11 o'clock. God!, Riya thought. "Ab to ye meri class leke hi chorega".

Riya turned to face him praying her Durga maa under her breath, to make him an unspeakable for the time being.

"haan, but it doesn't mean ki tum itni high volume pe gaana sunoge. Tumhari aaspaas bhi log rehte hai."said Riya, not giving up the fight.

"jinhe problem hai woh apni kaano mein rui dalke so jaye. This is an independent country. Mera marji main jo chahu wo karu." Arjun said shortly, returning back to his files, again increasing the volume to make Riya outraged. Arjun stood facing Riya his back.

Riya picked up a bangle from her dresser & pretended to throw it on him.

But he suddenly turned & saw her almost throwing things on him.

Arjun: "toh, ab apni track pe a hi gayii'kya hua ruk kyu gayi? Mujhe marna to tumhara sokh hai na. maro! aree maro na." annoying Riya even more.

Riya: "neki aur pooch pooch! Main woh har kaam kyu na karu jiske liye mujhe sunaya jata hai! Ye lo subha subha mujhe satane-ka phul."

Riya started throwing things at him, cursing him loudly.

"manhole ki dhakkan, tuta bench, athanni'"

Arjun was taken aback by her behavior. He thought she wouldn't throw that's why he irked her more. He was her boss, God dammit! Well, not outside though! Not now atleast! Then he started to throw things back. Everything presented in their rooms were transferred from here to there.

"Mogambo ki saheli, Nakchari, kumbkaran ki matajii'" Arjun was cursing her also.

"haawww" she gasped, getting more mad.

"dusht danav, khote, das sar wale ravan'" she continued.

Just then Shobha & Damini stepped in to stop them.

*flashback ends*

Riya was about to open the door of his room. But it opened by its own.

"ye darwaza kaise khul gaya? (Jaadoo😆)!" Riya thought to herself.

She peeped in her head into the room & saw Damini coming towards her with a container on her hand which was full of Riya's stuff.

"Wah! maine to adhe se jyada sare saman hi pehkdi.", Riya muttered to herself.

She looked for Arjun but he wasn't there. She looked at Damini with questioning eyes.

"He is in the bathroom, trying to bandage himself. Mujhe help nehi karne diya." Damini answered.

Geet gave a *main-hoon-na* look to Damini and went to bathroom to check on him. She is an ETF officer afterall & holy mother of Chocolate, he was her boss! And she was somehow feeling guilty as he was hurt because of her.

The bathroom's door was slightly opened. Riya hesitated to go inside first. But seeing no other way, she had to go in.

"ahmm..Mr. Raute?" she called him when she couldn't see him there. Then she turned to her left and saw him standing in front the basin struggling to weep his wound. But he failed as it was on his lower back shoulder.

He was not wearing anything except his track pants. His bare shoulder was 'attractive'.☺️

Riya gaped at him for sometime then cursed herself for looking at him & having those R-rated thoughts. "main pagal ho gayi hu!", Riya thought.

"main madad kardu?" Riya asked calmly.

Arjun looked at her through the mirror. Riya could see rage in those eyes. She looked deeper into those eyes. Is that a pang of hurt she's seeing? Arjun looked away, breaking the trance.

Riya walked upto him, took the first aid box & took out Antiseptic Alcohol Wipe Towelettes and pressed one on his wound causing him howl in pain.

"Don't touch me" he jerked away. Giving a warning look at her through mirror.

"Jaise main isse chune ki liye mari jaa rahi hu" Riya muttered under her breath.

Ignoring him, she again started wiping his wound. There was a slight cut due to the pricking side of the vase she threw. "Dang, must have hurt bad!" Riya thought, feeling guilty.

He then turned quickly & grabbed her wrist making her look at him surprised.

Arjun: kaha na apni dikhawa band karo!. Mujhe apni chize khud karna aata hai. Samjhi ya samjhau? Now leave." Leaving her wrist.

"Dikhai de rahi hai ki kitni safai se kar raheho" Riya tried to stay calm. She shook her head & held him to turn around so that she could bandage him.

But he was stubborn. He leaned onto the basin facing her so that she couldn't weep his wound or could go to his back to bandage him.

"fine!" said Riya ruefully. 'If that's what you want!". She turned to leave but a strong grip held her wrist & pulled her back, crushing her on his chest. Arjun was smirking.

"haar gaye na? Jab janti ho ki meri aage tumhari nehi chalne wali to larne kyu aati ho? oh I forgot, ye to tumhari fitrat hai. Galti karo then paschayatap ka jhuta natak. But you know I don't need your help and I don't need you here. So you may go now." Saying so he left her wrist & indicated her the door.

She followed his gaze then smiled & turned to face him again.

"But I'm not finished. Lagta hai tum Riya Mukherjee ko abhi tak nehi pehchan paye. Main bolne se jyada karne mein believe karti hu. Watch me!"

Arjun couldn't understand what was she talking. He stared at her & then saw her coming closer to him, Like really close!

And at his horror, she hugged him. One hand circled around his neck. Tightly pressing him closer to her. She rested her head on his shoulder, breathing on his neck.

She then again took towelettes & started wiping his wound. This made him come out of shock. He got what she was doing. No, he could not let her win. He tried to push her aside. But the more he pushed her away, the more she clenched to him.

She slowly wiped his wound; put antiseptic cream. He was left surprised and the cream was stinging a little. He slightly bend his head in pain & rested on her neck.

She felt her breath & his face on her neck. It tickled her senses. She felt a lump on her throat, closing her eyes & then again opening to resume her work.

One would say that they were having a passionate hug. But we all know what it was! 😉

She put a bandage and then whispered in his ears, "See Raute? I won!"

She broke the hug and left the bathroom as well, leaving a shocked Arjun behind.

Arjun was standing there for sometime as if he was spellbound. He then regained his senses and smiled...

"abhi to tumhe tumhari toufa bhi dena hai...jeet ka..."

He smiled wickedly...
