SwaRon OS:The Proposal

Sharon and Swayam : how perfect did that sound.. One year of togetherness and I couldn't have been happier.. I loved him and he did too , I guess .. Life had come a full circle after we first met at the party.. The moment I looked into his deep mesmerizing eyes I knew this meant just one word "Perfect" '.I sat by the window thinking about US.. All the madness and the love we shared had come to define my life.. Interrupting my thoughts my cell phone rang, the screen read KRIYA ,a name that made me a tad bit nervous, I gulped and answered , "Hey hi !!!"

"Guess what '..,"Kriya screamed on the phone making my ears buzz. She sure was excited about something.

"Well, actually nothing. Meet me at the The Pub tonight..and yes, don't forget to wear that stunning golden dress, Shar !!!" .. I kept the call and yelled out like a giggly 15 year old..

My heart was racing..Did she say the golden dress..Wow that was reserved for my special day..Was it time? SWAYAM was going to propose tonight..I felt a gush of warmth unlike any I had ever felt. Grinning like an idiot my heart danced a thousand times in that very moment' But how did Swayam know that the dramatic Ms. Raiprakashaways wanted a huge proposal in their favorite bar, I smirked..The only person who had an inkling about this was my cousin and best buddy Rey.. I loved Rey and respected him equally..he was family and hence special..I was elated and suddenly that gnawing irritated feeling engulfed me..

But why hadn't Swayam called me since morning he usually did. This was such a huge deal for us..Swayam even called me enumerable times before throwing me a birthday surprise but why not today..Why did Kriya call me..I was beginning to get uncomfortable..

Kriya was Swayam's best friend , his darling.. He loved her to the core..Swayam had made it extremely clear that I was his girlfriend but his friendship with Kriya was way beyond special and it wouldn't be compromised no matter what..Kriya coexisted in Swayam and my perfect little world so much so that he even asked her what to wear every morning!!!! But she was never the third wheel.. I wasn't very fond of Kriya and yes the feeling was mutual but we were very cordial with each other.. I knew she meant no harm..The usual taunts and skeptical statements by my friends were ringing in my head..

" Oh my god Swayam and Kriya are just perfect, look at them."

"I tell u Sharon there is something amiss ..Swayam is cheating on you with this Kriya chick.."

I had to cut off from this mess for a while now..Its my day today and I trust my boyfriend he would never cheat on me ..He is , was and always will be mine' I stood upright with a feeling of pride about my man..

I had to had to call Rey ..Fumbling with the phone I dialed his number ,"Hey babe !! The bar tonight at 7 right? I will pick you up at 6 .." ,So even Rey knew about this, but Swayam still hadn't called me once .. I had to shut off that nervous anxiety within me'

" But Rey how do'"

"I am your best friend for a reason darling'And uhhh yes is Kriya',uh ' I mean is she gonna be there .. I was just casually' you know'"

"I know Reyyy !!!See u in the evening" He was totally attracted to Kriya but just wouldn't say it..

The day was just a haze as I waited for the clock to turn faster than usual' Finally it was time ..As I opened the door to step out I saw Rey standing there leaning against his car looking his dapper self.

"Phew someone is looking stunning today.. And you had to be my sister, right? " he pouted.. Slapping his arm I sat in the car , my mind at the peak of anxiety..

As we reached I asked Rey again "do I look ok?"

He smiled and gave me a small peck and I knew I sure didn't look bad ..

I was startled and taken aback as I entered the bar ,all our friends were here and standing beside the entrance was the one person who took my breath away every time I saw him.. He looked way beyond handsome in his black blazer.. He exuded panache and my eyes widened with a glint of absolute attraction ..But it was very odd to see Kriya besides him in her ever so sexy red dress hands wrapped around his arms..Swayam came over and gave me a friendly hug and Kriya a warm smile.. Rey said the loudest hi as Kriya smiled at him..

"Hey Sharon lets settle down shall we? Our favorite table then?" but I felt something amiss as everyone was engrossed in their own conversation' Even Swayam didn't bother to tell me if I looked good..He wasn't the one to fall short on compliments. No one really bothered to say much apart from the usual greetings..I was beginning to wonder if I had got the news right..Mike the DJ suddenly announced " Since it's our dedication night let's get the ball rolling guys, so who is first peeps "'

Rey stood up with a start throwing off some of his coolth and a wink towards Kriya..

"This was going to be hilarious", I smiled but Swayam was busy hooting like a maniac '

Rey made it to the karaoke bar " Kriya this one is for you babe"

"Mere bina main, rehne lagahoon.

On he went crooning like a love struck teenager winking at Kriya and making a total fool of himself. While all the girls in d room oohhhed and ahhhed drooling over my handsome brother, Ms. Arm candy gave my guy a lovey dovey look and blushed' This was getting a little too much.. I lightly placed my palm over Swayam's hand and gave it a squeeze..He looked at me made a puppy face and continued chatting with Kriya..

"Ahhh, I hate myself when I get jealous". Trying to calm my nerves I ordered a martini..The song dedication ritual was at its peak now..Time went on and 9 of my friends had already been up on stage dedicating songs to Kriya .. I was getting very uncomfortable and asked Rey to get me another martini..

"Double trouble Shar !!!!" , he smirked..

As soon as Swayam heard that he looked at me gave me an odd confused look and got up!! I suddenly felt butterflies rummaging in my stomach but kept calm!!He went up to the stage tossed the mike in such a sexy way that i had to turn scarlet red !! "Today is a special day for me, a very important one!!,I'm going to ask the girl of my dream to marry me, she's my princess. I bet a million dollars to find a girl like her, she's perfect" he blurted in a single breath..But his eyes weren't on me, either ..Strange I thought yet I was beaming from within ..It was equally irritating that everybody suddenly turned around to look at Kriya. " I may not sing but i want her to come here and have a last dance as my girlfriend and 1st dance as my would be, your favorite song will be played and i want u to come here", he murmured..

It was like a dream come true...I had lost count of the times I had imagined this. As I was about to go up, TAE AMO played!!! That was not my song, was my first reaction weirdly. Suddenly I felt something incomprehensible within me, something beyond pain..As I clutched the sides of the table trying to control my tears I saw that'. that thing going towards the stage blushing.. A few of our friends gave me the odd look and I felt Rey's hand around me, concern apparent in his eyes..As the crowd hooted and cheered and I felt claustrophobic Rey whispered, "Lets get out of here babe !!

"Can u drive me home Rey.Please?" Swayam and Kriya were already dancing.

"Hmmm.."

My drink arrived then, I put on a fake smile so that that loser I so loved won't have the pleasure to watch me hurt.. I gulped it up in one go n turned around ,silent tears made my vision blurred. Rey went ahead to get the car..

AsI reached the exit , suddenly PEHELA NASHA began playing!! My heart skipped a beat and began throbbing like a mad man on the run..I just couldn't control my tears as I sobbed and turned around I saw him standing right in front of me,so close that not even a breath of air could intervene.. I was too numb to even react and I just broke down .Swayam began laughing and on he went humming PehlaNasha.. Everyone hooted and cheered!! Relieved I began hitting him relentlessly, randomly "I hate you.. I hate you so much'""

He caught hold of my hands and gave me the tightest hug ever and tenderly kissed my forehead..Just then Rey entered, smiling and winking n crossed his arms and yelled "Mission Accomplished!!" I threw the mike at Rey and it almost missed .

"Oye !!!"

Swayam took my hand in his, and we went up on stage

"You have been the best girlfriend, u trusted me even when i behaved as if Kriya was the girl of my dreams. Even in my wildest dream i cannot think of marrying anyone but you ,baby. And Kriya??shes my broya!!" I smiled at Kriya and she gave her a flying kiss!! "I love u Sharon no matter what!! Now seriously can i have this dance, am still waiting" As the song played on, I danced in the arms of the one person who made me complete. I let happy tears flow voluntarily. I looked deep into his eyes and he kissed me with all his love like he would never let go.. I knew then that every word he just said was as true as the love of my life !!!
