Chapter 7

He had been drinking chai and eating gol gappes since more than one hour now, waiting outside the building to get a glimpse of his next target. And finally he got to see her. He always liked to admire beauty, and this girl was far more beautiful in real than in a picture. He saw her getting in a vehicle and going away. He paid for the chai and food and went away.

They reached the crime scene, and everyone dispersed to check the crime scene. Riya and Aisha bent down to investigate the body for any signs of violence or more, while Rathore and Arjun were checking everywhere in the house, and Shree and Chotu were asking all the neighbours questions about this lady.

After some time Shree and Chotu came inside and said, "Sir, her name was Mrs Genelia. She was living all alone since her sole son and daughter-in-law left this house to go abroad years ago. She wasn't a sociable person at all, in fact she was used to complaining to everyone about everything, that very little people used to talk with her!"

"Where is her son? Did anyone contact him?" Rathore asked.

"Nope, no one did, but i'll try to contact him," Shree said.

"What did you find?" Arjun asked Aisha and Riya.

"I'm not sure, but it seems that she had been strangled. I may be wrong, but there are some marks on her neck. We have to send her body for post mortem for more clues," Aisha said.

"But who could have killed her and why?" Riya stated.

"Yep all her money, things and jewels are still lying in this house," Arjun added.

"We'd get more information after the autopsy," Rathore said.

So after collecting all clues, they returned back to their office, while Shree tried to contact Mrs Genelia's son.

After about one hour

They were all sitting in the conference room, trying to find out what could have happened, when Shree came running into the room, "Sir, I have been trying to get hold of Mrs Genelia's son since long, and guessed what her son has been in India since one week now, and he was just going to leave the country for America, his flight is one hour later."

"Stop him, call the security in the airport!"Arjun said.

"It has already been done, he'd be brought here within some time,"Shree answered back. Chotu has gone to bring him here.

Just then Riya's mobile started to ring, and seeing that it was the doctor who was incharge of the post mortem, she put it on loudspeaker for everyone one to hear.

'Yes, kya pata chala?" Riya asked.

"She had indeed been strangled. And her death occurred two days ago, around diner time," they heard the doctor saying.

"Anything else?" Aisha asked.

"Nothing else, i'm sorry." the doctor said and Riya cut the call.

Arjun started to spin the pen in his fingers, stood up and went to write on the white board, saying, "She was old, alone. Strangled to death. Her son was in India and is now trying to run away. Kuch to chut raha hein!"

Arjun turned towards everyone and said, "What do we have on Mrs Genelia?"

"Well she was an eccentric woman, but she was rich according to her bank statements!" Aisha replied.

"And did she have a will?" Rathore asked after some seconds.

"Well i'm not sure about it, i'll have to check whether she had one or not!" Riya said.

"What do you mean you are not sure? It's your job to check them! How can you be so irresponsible?" Arjun said coldly.

"I'm sorry, i'll go and check them," Riya replied meekly and went away.

"Arjun, why did you have to shout at her? She's already doing her best," Rathore said.

"She should do even better Rathore, she's not a normal girl, but an ETF officer. She should always look beyond the obvious!" Arjun said, and could see Aisha giving him a glare.

"Ab har koi apki taraf nahin ho sakta," Aisha murmured silently to herself. But her words reached Arjun and Rathore's ears.

Arjun glared back at her, while Rathore was amused by them.

After some time, Riya came back telling them that Mrs. Genelia had made a will where everything she had was in her son's name. But recently one month ago, she had suddenly contacted her lawyer to make some changes in her will.

"what changes?" Rathore asked while holding his chin.

"She was going to give ninety percent of her wealth to NGOs, and only ten percent would go to her son," Riya replied.

"And has she signed her new will?" Arjun asked.

"Nope she was supposed to sign it tomorrow,"Riya replied.

After a few hours, they had solved the case, proving very easily that the son had murdered his mother for wealth. They were completing their report, when Riya got up and went to see Arjun in his office. She knocked and entered his office, seeing him sitting in his chair.

"kya hein Riya?" Arjun asked a bit irritated.

"I'm sorry for the mistake done, next time i wont give you or anyone any such opportunity," Riya said.

"You better not. Do you think that to become an officer, one just need physical strength? You need brains also. I admit now you know how to shoot, but it's still not enough. You have loads more to do," Arjun said coldly.

Riya murmured a simple yes and left before she really broke down in tears. No matter how much she did, he always found flaws in her work. She took her bag and left the office. She didnt even bother to tell anyone she was going away, because she was too emotionally unstable to face anyone.

Aisha talking with her contacts, and came to know that the man was back in town for another work, but what work no one knew... she felt afraid, not for herself, but for Riya because she knew Riya was the closest to her for the time being... Her six sense said Riya was in danger...

Riya was sitting all alone on the beach, hidden by the trees and some small boats...

He had been following her since a long time, he didnt believe he would get an opportunity so soon... he never believed in killing his victims with objects or other things, he liked killing them using his hands only...

He waited till it was darker to attack...
