CHAPTER 3:

The day went back quickly, with the meeting with Arnav replaying continuously in Khushi's mind. She was very tired from the day's events but was also invited to a welcoming party by NK. And she just couldn't bring herself to say no.

Here she was now walking nervously back and fro in her room, deep in thoughts of what to wear! She kept stealing glances towards her wardrobe and not a single one of her clothes seemed appropriate for a party. Also, she barely knew what to wear to such parties as she had never been to one.

"hay Devi Maiyya! What should I wear?" she sighed aloud!

She continued her walk when suddenly an idea struck her mind and she screamed.

"Jiji!!! Can I have that red saree of yours please?"

"what happened Khushi? Are you going somewhere?"

"yes Jiji. Naheji invited me to a party!"

"Ooh! So my little sister is going to a party huh?"

"stop it now Jiji! Just give me your saree!"

"fine!! Just take it!"

Arnav was at Nk's party and was standing in a corner, surrounded by his friends, with a drink in his hand. He had somehow managed to block all the thoughts of that Khushi from his mind and was concentrating on the crowd around him and the party.

"guys, I'll be right back"

with that, Arnav made his way towards the exit to get some fresh air. However, before being able to go out, someone collided into him and was badly losing her balance. Automatically, his arms reached out to her and he held her waist. After regaining balance, he looked intently at the face in front of him, but the view was obscured by the person's hair on her face. Slowly, with one hand he removed her hair and was shocked but pleased to see none other than Khushi in his arms!

Khushi was waiting to hit the ground when two strong hands held her waist tightly. Just by his touch and the effect he had on her made her realize that her saviour was Arnav and her theory was only confirmed when he managed to remove her troublesome hair from her face.

Once they were face to face, no one could blink their eyes. They were so immersed into each other that they even forgot their surroundings.

Arnav thought:

My god! She is looking sooo beautiful in that red sari. I have never seen a more beautiful outfit. Never has anyone done more justice to a red sari. And those flying hairs! They are just driving me crazy. And those juicy red lips….

Without thinking, Arnav was slowing lowering his lips towards Khushi's to take them in a passionate and deep kiss.

They were now just inches away when suddenly a tap on Arnav's shoulder stopped him immediately and he got his senses back and was shocked at their position and what he was about to do!

"what are you doing Arnie?" la exclaimed.

Abruptly Arnav left Khushi and he just rushed outside for some even more badly needed air while NK came at the same instant to see Khushi, who was now blushing deep red due to her most recent encounter with Arnav.

"thank you NK" Khushi said.

"why are you thanking me??" Nk was surprised by her thanks.

"just like that. Let's go!"

Khushi spent most of the evening thinking about their encounter and the same thoughts also haunted a certain ARNAV SINGH RAIZADA!

"There are hundreds of girls who I normally meet and some with whom I even flirt or hug, but never have I ever felt something like this for any of them. What the hell is going on? Why does she have such an effect on me?" this thoughts kept pondering on Arnav's mind for the whole night.
