Hello people, it's me, not Tanu Di, as in "Megha/dmegha" though, I am her younger sister, Bhav Kirti. The thing is that my elder sister, the one who writes this and many other fictions is ill, very very ill. She got high fever that isn't coming down, and her eye allergy isn't helping the situation. She wrote this update weeks ago but couldn't post it because she was sick, so now I am posting it! Hope you'll like it!
"Dhano..", Shilpa said.
"Gabbar..", countered back Armaan.
"Ghatothkach..", Shilpa called, craning her neck towards Armaan.
"Magarmach..", Armaan swiftly added.
"Gol Gappa.."
"Tikhi Mirchi.."
"Kukkad Coo.."
"Chudail.."
"Hawww..", what started as fun, by Armaan and Shilpa telling their friends, the names by which they used to call each other, ended up as the war of the century. Shilpa and Armaan were now glaring at each other, the eyes narrowed, lips twitched and nostrils flaring.
Their friends looked at Armaan and then at Shilpa, their gaze flickering between the two. "Tum mujhe chudail bhi bulate thhe?", asked Shilpa.
"And what was that Kukkad Coo about?"
"That's much better than Chudail OK? Jangli bhainsa!", shrugged Shilpa. Rahul and Nikki sighed, knowing well, that if not interrupted, Armaan and Shilpa will keep on bickering like this.
"Oye! Jangli bhainsa kissko bola?", Armaan poked Shilpa's shoulder. Sid, Riddhima, Ajul, Anjali, Muskaan and Abhi looked at Rahul and Nikki, as if asking, what the hell is going on. And they all got an answering, you-asked-for-it look.
"Tumhe..aurr kisse!", and before things could get more awkward and out of control, Nikki intervened.
"Chillax guys! We were here discussing your love story, remember? And you both started fighting like kids. Take a chill pill."
Another look of annoyance passed between Armaan and Shilpa, they huffed and then turned away, not facing each other.
"Okay..now who's gonna continue the story?" asked Sid.
"I will..", declared Shilpa, before Armaan could speak. "Fine!", huffed out Armaan.
Shilpa cheerfully smiled, clasping her hands, she continued, "Okies, so after I left Mr. Grumpy alone, there was just this one thing I had been thinking about. That why he said that nobody wants to stay with him. I knew ki kuch toh hua thha, but what woh mujhe pata lagana thha."
"So how did you do that?", asked Anjali.
"You know what, hum dono, ek doosre se chahe kitne door kyon na chale jayen, but hamari kismat, ek baar phhir se humme mila hi deti hai! He had to leave Mumbai and come to Delhi, and then we met that night and after few days we met again, at hospital again but under different circumstances.", said Shilpa, with a serene smile on her face.
"How?"
...Flashbacks...
"Dr. Rastogi, whom are we waiting for? Why don't you assign us, our duties?", asked Armaan, his tone rough and harsh but still controlled within the borderline of respect.
"Dr. Malik, we are waiting for another intern. She'll be here in few minutes..", Dr. Rastogi got interrupted by Armaan. While it seemed as if other interns knew about this "late intern", Armaan didn't and he was getting annoyed.
"That should not be..", Armaan tried to argue, but he was stopped by Dr. Rastogi, who raised his hand, as if asking him to stop, "She is late, because she had to handle a charity function, on the hospital's behalf. She had informed me that she'll late by few minutes. So can you just wait, just for few more minutes."
Armaan just nodded. He looked at his wrist watch and then at the entrance of the hospital. Who the hell is the girl? Was what he thought. Shaking his head, he moved around and turned towards the reception area, and started completing some formalities, that he had to, as he joined the hospital in mid of the internship programme.
It wasn't like, air around him changed, neither it felt as if he was floating, nor he felt any fluttery feeling. But there was this prickling sensation, the very same sensation which told him that she was around. It wasn't new to him. He had been feeling this since they were kids.
"There you are!", he heard Dr. Rastogi . "Shilpa..", he whispered to himself. It just slipped out unintentionally and unknowingly. Armaan turned again, to meet the "late intern", but he got bumped into someone. The girl lost her balance and was about to fall, in order to prevent the fall, she tried to grip something but got hold of Armaan's shirt instead. Thus, both of them lost their balance and fell.
"Wwwooohhhwww..", he heard the girl yell, before she fell on the floor and he on top of her. Too close, but there was a sense of comfort that surrounded him. His face was buried in her hair, he could feel the erratic beats of her heart. He inhaled sharply; a very familiar scent clogged his senses. A scent so familiar, so unique that he could hardly forget. He raised his head a little and tilted it to his left side. He knew it. It was Shilpa.
He stared at her, she stared back. Nothing changed, the time didn't stopped and nobody froze around them. But what mattered the most was that they are here, together yet once again. Armaan didn't know what to do, one moment he wanted to bare his heart out and the very next moment, the hurt that had created a hole deep inside him, when Shilpa had left, over powered his senses. Plus the hurt from Riddhima's rejection, acted like fuel to the already raging fire.
"Yo buddy!", Shilpa smiled wickedly, raising her brows. "What will be enough to get your heavy anatomy off me?"
"Huh?", was all what Armaan managed to say.
"Dude, you'll be the death of me!", rolling her eyes, she shook her head, "Get the hell off me NOW!", she screamed the last part, making Armaan flinch. He moved off her and sat on the floor, covering his ears with his hands.
"Damn you!! Stop screaming!", muttered Armaan.
"Finally!", Shilpa smiled stood up and forwarded her hand towards Armaan. Thinking that she was about to help him stand, Armaan held onto Shilpa's hand, but she pulled back and said, "My files.."
"What?"
"My files, that are lying beside you!", so she wasn't helping him, she just wanted her files. Great! Armaan just handed her those files and stood up. And boy, was he ignoring her? He actually was.
...Flashbacks Ends...
"You gave her those files so easily? I was expecting something different!", Nikki whined, as if she got deprived of her favourite toy.
"I was in no mood!", Armaan said, faking a yawn.
"Yeah yeah!!", said Shilpa sarcastically.
"OK, so what happened next? Were you paired up together for your duties? Or you two had to go on a camp together, or.." Muskaan blabbed.
"Hold on Muskaan, let's have dinner first? It's already 8 P.M.", suggested Armaan.
"Not now!", exclaimed Sid, "Can't dinner wait for another hour? Aurr waise bhi hum kaunsa dinner karke yahan se go went gone hone waale hain!", Sid smiled cheekily.
"Yup!", the others agreed, while Armaan and Shilpa looked at each other and then, "Fine!", they both replied.
"So aage kya hua?"
"Well, you know that I wasn't responding to her tactics and antics but she didn't stopped..! She continued provoking me.", told Armaan.
"That was fun!", chuckled Shilpa.
"So kiya kya tumne?", Riddhima asked.
"I tried every damn thing, to provoke him, so he'll answer me back, snap at me or fight with me!", Shilpa got interrupted by Atul.
"Wait..wait..wait..why fighting?" asked Atul.
Shilpa smiled, "Hum dono ka rishta thoda ajeeb hai. Kuch toh gadbad thhi, ab agar Armaan se direct jaakar poochti toh woh ignore kar deta, like meri life hai, mujhe akela chod do..wagerah wagerah..", rolling her eyes, Shilpa sighed and continued, "Issiliye, I tried to divert the whole thing. Woh pareshaan thha, I knew it, bas uska concentration uski problems se hatakar, khudpar lana thha! So I tried to become the major problem in his life! By playing pranks on him", she laughed, while Armaan sulked, but couldn't hide the upward curve of his lips, that turned into a shy smile.
"Like, adding extra spices into his food, replacing his drinking water with vinegar, putting itching powder in his clothes, a cockroach in his sandwich?", asked Sid, shrugging.
"Dude!! I guess she had played many pranks on you!", remarked Rahul.
"Apparently..she did, yes! Thank God she didn't tried the super glue waala prank on me!!", Sid said, sighing in relief.
"You!!!", yelled Armaan, making Sid jerk in surprise. "Who told you about that super glue waala prank?", he asked, his face red in anger and embarrassment. Shilpa covered her mouth to stifle a laugh, the others pretended as if nothing's happening and ignored it all, while Sid looked like a sacrificial lamb, and Armaan, the butcher who was going to slice Sid into pieces.
"Umm..umm..Rahul told me..", Sid stuttered pointing a finger at Rahul, who feigned a shocked look, and stood up from where he was seating. "Uumm..Shilpa can you show me the washroom, I need to use the washroom very badly!", he looked at Shilpa, with a hopeful glint in his eyes.
Shilpa ducked her head and didn't replied, but Armaan clutched Rahul's neck from back and shook him violently, "Saale, tu mera dost hai ke dushman? Dekh tera kya haal karta hoon main!" And by this started the tom and jerry chase. Popcorns, anyone?
After 15 minutes of chase, Rahul surrendered himself, he had to do 50 sit ups like a kid, holding his ears. That sounds childish, but boy, it pained like hell.
"Ho gaya tera? Ab apni love story continue kar!", exclaimed rahul, his tone pained.
"So..where were we?", drawled Armaan.
"Shilpa's pranks" Abhi added.
"Oy yeah, see some of them were those what Sid told you, aurr haan...once I pretended to be his stalker, dude! I enjoyed it so much. I used to call him using unknown numbers, then send him cards, bouquets and e-mails, but that lasted only for 2 weeks, he was actually going to file a complaint against me!", shrieked Shilpa.
"Toh aurr kya karta main..aise stupid messages and cards send kar rahi thhi tum! Dumbo,!" answered back Armaan, earning a smack on his head.
...Flashbacks...
"Hello handsome..", Shilpa drawled out sexily on the phone. Boy was she glad, that she had taken mimicry classes.
"Tum..Tum kyon mujhe baar baar pareshaan karti rehti ho! Peecha chodo mera.." Armaan yelled. He was frustrated with this mystery girl, who irritated the hell out of him.
"Itni asaani se nahi! Abhi toh chup chup ke baatein shuru hui hain, aadha ishq sirf aadha hi hua hai, poora toh ho jaane do!", Shilpa bit her lip to control her laughter. She was being cheesy and knew that Armaan just hates it. What a way to irritate him.
"Kaunsi C grade fim ki lines mujhpar use kar rahi ho?"
"Sheela Ki Jawaani..", Shilpa swiftly answered.
"What?", he yelled out in shock.
"Pichle Janam Ki Sexy Love Story", she countered back.
"Hain!"
"Raat Ke Ladoo.."
"You freaking crazy woman..", Shilpa was enjoying all this, so she continued with the titles.
"Uff Mirchi...!"
"Shut the hell up and dobara mujhe call mat karna!",
"Aise na kaho..priye..mere hone waali swami, mere karta dharta!", she so much wanted to see his facial expression at this moment. Armaan was highly annoyed, so he just threw his phone away, that cracked into pieces.
"God!!!", he groaned. On the other hand, Shilpa had a hearty laugh at Armaan's expense.

All of them were laughing hard. They wondered if this was an excerpt of what Shilpa did to Armaan, how'll the whole stalking thing be? Armaan himself was laughing and this time, it was Shilpa who had gone red. Red because of blushing. There are some things that you had done in past but when you look at the past, remembering those things, you couldn't help but think, "What the hell was I thinking when I did that!?!" So for Shilpa, this moment was it, though there is nothing to regret but it sure as hell sounds embarrassing.
"Pichle janam ki sexy love story...really Shilpa?", Atul managed to ask between fits of laughter.
"Oye not to forget...Sheela Ki Jawaani", Rahul wriggled his brows suggestively, earning a hard smack at his back from Muskaan.
"Seriously Shilpa..tum yeh sab dekhti ho?" Riddhima questioned, laughing.
Narrowing her eyes she replied, "Naa..Sid used to watch them. He had a whole bunch of CD's of such movies. I just found the titles funny! Aren't they funny Sid?", she shot Sid an innocent look, battling her eye-lashes.
Sid eyes popped out like saucers, wide. He looked at Shilpa and then was suddenly hit by a cushion. Riddhima was glaring at Sid, muttering incoherent curses and her expressions were like, "Ghar chalo, phhir seedha karti hoon tumhe!"
Armaan just stared at Shilpa, chuckling. All this story telling was getting interesting. Very, very interesting. Anjali covered up her laugh with a cough.
"Yeh sab toh theek hai, but tumhe Armaan ki problem ke baare mein pata kaise chala?", asked Abhi. Riddhima flinched at being termed as a problem, but didn't said anything.
Biting her lip, Shilpa looked at Armaan, whose smile had turned into a stern one, "Actually I got hold of his personal diary. I mean yaar, koi response hi nahi de raha thha yeh mujhe, so I just snitched out his diary from his locker!", a sheepish and guilty look on her face.
"But I was a jerk to you!! You were just helping me and I..", Armaan said.
"You were hurt..", Shilpa wrapped her arms around Armaan's waist, her head resting on his shoulder, "It's OK now. It's past."
Again, even if both of them were surrounded by their friends, it still felt as if they just didn't matter, like strangers don't.
"Dinner time!" yelled Atul, breaking Armaan and Shilpa's moment.
The others glared at him, Armaan and Shilpa smiled, while Atul looked like the most innocent being alive.
"OK guys, on the dining table." Shilpa pointed at the dining table, near the kitchen area.
"Hey Shilpa, you want any help?", Riddhima asked, Muskaan and Anjali joined her too.
"Kay! Riddhima and Anjali, you can set up the table. I'll bring the food, Muskaan would you heat up the food?"
"Yeah, come on", and the ladies went to help, while Armaan led the men to the dining table.
The table was set and the food was served. They all were enjoying the dinner. Shilpa told them, how she had stole Armaan's diary, the read it out loud in front of Armaan, pushing his to edge, confronting him about blaming Riddhima when it wasn't her fault at all. Armaan was still guilty, they way he had shouted on her that day and called her emotionless and stone hearted. And also what happened after Armaan and Shilpa's face off.
...Flashbacks...
"Tsk tsk Armaan, you are such a baby!", Shilpa tsked at him, giving him pitiful looks.
"How dare you read my diary?" Armaan yelled. He was angry, and was failing to control his anger.
"Arre ab toh padh li naa, and I must tell you that I am amazed. I mean uss ladki ne tumse pyaar kiya hi nahi and you are blaming her for everything. You still haven't learnt how to take up the responsibility of you deeds!"
Narrowing his gaze, Armaan pointed his finger at Shilpa, "Don't you lecture me about all this? Tum jaanti hi kya ho mere baare mein? So please, mujhse aurr meri zindagi se door hi raho tum! Please!", Armaan shouted at her and was about to walk away, but Shilpa had him rooted to the place with her next statement.
"Tumhe jitna maine jaana hai, jitna tumhe samjha hai na Armaan, koi tumhe itna samajh nahi sakta, tum khud bhi apne aapko itna nahi jaante, jitna ki main."
Armaan clenched his fists, his knuckles turning white, "Agar itna hi jaanti aurr samajhti thhi mujhe, toh chod kar kyon chali gayi mujhe? Ek baar bhi yeh nahi socha, ki can I ever hurt you like that? Riddhima ne dard diya hai mujhe, but what about those wounds that you gave me?"
Wiping the lone tear that had managed to escape from her eyes, Shilpa replied, "I know I did wrong, galati kissi aurr ki thhi aurr maine saza tumhe di. But Armaan, you are doing the same thing. By blaming Riddhima for all this. Aren't you?"
"Armaan, Riddhima never loved you, why don't you understand this simple thing?"
"Agreed that she didn't loved me, but I did. Do you have an idea that how much it hurts to see the person you love, loving someone else? Apne pyaar ko kissi aurr ke saath..huh, why the hell am I talking to you!? Tumne to kabhi kissi se itna pyaar kiya hi nahi."
...Flashbacks Ends...
"I am really sorry!", whispered Armaan.
"Don't be!", Shilpa replied.
