Chapter 11:

Two weeks passed by since they returned from Goa. And in these two weeks kriya and rey have grown extremely close to each other. The petals of love were budding between them. Their day started with each other and ended talking to each other. Some where they had realized that it was love. Rey was happy realizing it but kriya was confused whether to accept it or not. Her heart gave her the consent to accept this new feeling but her mind was still in a denial mode.

"I know that I love him. But then loving me would be very dangerous for him. No I can't let anything happen to him. I will just stay as his friend nothing else." Kriya pondered over her thoughts, sitting on the couch in the living area.

"Kriya what are you thinking beta?" Payal asked, placing her hand on her shoulder. This made Kriya return back to the present.

"Huh! Nothing aunty."

"I've noticed beta, aaj kal tum bahut khoyi khoyi rehti ho. Is everything fine?"

"Ab how do I tell you aunty. Nothing is fine. Rey and I are getting closer day by day which is not good." Kriya thought in her mind. "I'm fine aunty." Kriya lied.

"Kriya, itna toh tumhe jaan chuki ho that you're lying. Jab comfortable feel kare toh share karna."

On hearing this, Kriya felt slightly awkward on getting caught.

"Mom...Mom... I need your help." Rey shouted from his room. Both Kriya and Payal giggled on hearing this.

"Yeh ladka kabhi nahi sudherega." Saying this Payal proceeded towards Rey's room.

"What happened, Rey?"

"Mum, I need your help. Vo actually...as you know that I...err...I'm in love with Kriya, so I was thinking agar mein use apne birthday ke din propose karu?"

"The Casanova, Reyansh Singhaniya ek ladki ko propose karne ke liye apni mom se help maang raha hai. Strange!" Payal made fun of him.

"Mom...enough...jabse aapko bola hai that I love her..aap ho ki chodte hi nahi mujhe. And for your information I've stopped being a Casanova long time back. Plus Kriya isn't like the other girls."

"Ahaan I see, then how is she?"

"She is...umm beautiful, different, caring...and..." He went into Kriya's dreamland.

"Bhagwan ji shukar hai aapka. My son is lost in his love." Payal teased him.

"You done, now tell me how my plan is?"

"Just like you. Superb."

Kriya who was passing by heard Rey and Payal's conversation. She was shocked to know that Rey was going to propose her. In a hurry she left from there. Payal saw Kriya leaving from there. She excused herself and followed Kriya.

"Kriya,tum wahan se achanak kyu chali aayi?"

"I heard yours and Rey's conversation. I'm sorry for that but I couldn't stop myself from hearing it."

"That's alright. But tum itni tensed kyu ho?"

"Aunty aap toh sab jaante ho about me and my past."

"Yeah I know. So?"

"Aunty how can I let my past effect Rey. I can't...just can't accept his proposal."

"Kriya, never let your past haunt your present. Just tell rey everything. He'll understand."

"Nahi aunty, It's better if I stay away from Rey. Mujhe pakka pata hai someday my past will reach me."

Payal sighed. "Kriya it's your life and you are the one to take decisions ultimately. Just think what I said."

The next day everything in the Singhaniya mansion was in a hustle bustle. Well, it was Reyansh Singhaniya's birthday.

"Happy Birthday beta." Payal said while giving him the prasad and applying the tilak on his forehead.

"Mom, you know I don't like it."

"oye chup I don't like it ka bacha. Bhagwan ke ashirwaad ko aisa nahi bolte." Saying this payal left from there.

Rey was eagerly waiting for Kriya's wish. Unable to control more, he turned to go upstairs. As he turned he bumped in to Kriya. Before she could fall, he caught her waist preventing her from falling whilst her hands rested on his shoulder. They were lost in each others eyes. After a few minutes Kriya was the one to break the eye contact.

"Happy Birthday Rey." She said.

"Nah, I don't want an empty wish." He said leaning towards her making her breath heavy.

"Then?" She asked bearing the goosebumps due to their proximity.

"My gift?" He asked whispering in her ear.

"Uh, voo...I...I'll give to you in the evening." He smiled at the effect he was creating on her. She was unable to speak properly.

"Okay" Saying this, he stepped back. Kriya let out a relief sigh. But before she could completely relax, he again pulled her towards him. "Thanks for your wish." He purred in her ear making her close her eyes. Planting a kiss on the corner of her lips, he left surprising her.

The party was at it's boost. Everyone was enjoying to the core. Suddenly Rey took the mike and announced,

"Ladies and gentleman, may I have your attention please. I know it's my birthday today and I'm supposed to receive gifts but today I want to present a gift to a very special person in my life."

He went towards kriya and knelt down before her. "Kriya you are that special person in my life. Since the day you entered my life, everything has changed. My behavior, my lifestyle and me. I've totally changed myself and I like this change. I keep dreaming 'bout you 24*7 a day. I just want to say that I love you Kriya. I really do from the bottom of my heart."

Giving an apologetic look to Payal, Kriya spoke "I don't love you Rey. Just because we're friends that doesn't mean I love you. I've never felt anything for you" Kriya said sternly.

"I know you're joking. And now stop this. i know I effect you a lot so just stop saying that I don't effect you. Please mujhe aur na tadpao. Just say those three magical words."

"Mr.Reyansh Singhaniya, I don't love you. Isn't it clear to you. how'd you even think that I'll love a flirt like you." Kriya yelled. This enraged Rey.

"Stop it Kriya. Enough of your nonsense. Guys the party is over."

Everyone quietly made a move out of there. Even Kriya and Payal left. Rey wasn't in his senses. He gulped down two bottles of beer. Stumbling here and there, he reached Kriya's bedroom and found her weeping.

"Mujhe dard deke tumhe toh khush hona chahiye." He said in his slurred tone.

"What are you doing here? And what have you done to yourself." Kriya said wiping her tears.

"Why do you care? You don't love me right."

Kriya faced the other side and said "Yes." Rey caught hold of her wrist and pulled her towards him while twisting her hand behind.

"Rey leave. You're hurting me."

"Pehle look in to my eyes and say that you don't love me."

"I...I don't..."

"Common say it." He said pressing her wrist.

"I...love you rey.." Kriya said looking down weeping bitterly.

"Toh jhoot kyu bola?" He asked softly leaving her hand.

"Because I'm engaged." Kriya said closing her eyes.
