Khushi clutched Arnav's arm tightly when their SUV halted with a jerk in front of the palace gates of Hari Niwas Palace, one of Jammu's heritage hotels.

Arnav(angry): Drive carefully!
The gates opened & in went the SUV on the long winding path which led to the hotel.
Khushi(points to the brown building): That's r hotel!
Arnav(smiles): No,its not Khushi. That's the museum.
Khushi(shocked): Museum? This Hotel has a museum as well?
Arnav(nods): Hotel lies ahead of the museum.
As the SUV progessed along the road,Khushi could see a white colored building in the distance.
Khushi: Is that white building r hotel?
Arnav nods.
Khushi: This is the first time I've come across a hotel which has a museum attached to it. Can we go to see the museum?
Arnav: Sure! Though we wont go right now. The dr. will be here to see u shortly. After that we'll hav lunch. And then we can go to the museum.
Khushi(beams): Alright.
As the SUV approached the hotel Khushi marvelled the spotless white building with sprawling gardens on either sides. And a view of the faraway mountains.
Khushi(holds Arnav's hand): This place is so beautiful! (squeezes his hand) Thank u so much 4 bringing me over here!
Arnav(kisses her forehead): U're welcome!Lets go inside!

Once inside the hotel,ArShi were led to the Maharaja Suite whereas the Guptas were led to the Maharani Suite.
Khushi kept gawking at the architecture,the old wordly charm & the royal touch of the hotel.
Arnav helped Khushi sit down on the bed.
Arnav: Ur expressions tell me that u love this room!
Khushi: I love it a lot! But.. Arnavji, it must b..
Arnav: What?
Khushi(concerned): Really expensive naa?
Arnav: Khushi!

Arnav: Why do u want to know that?

Khushi nearly screamed when Arnav opened the curtains. The balcony attached to the room offered a breathtaking view of the garden & the distant mountains.
Khushi: Can we sit over there in the garden,where tables n chairs have been placed?
Arnav: Sure! We'll go there in the evening.
When Khushi looked to the side,she found amma in the adjacent room's balcony.
Khushi(screamed): Amma!!
Arnav: Sshhh! Softly!
When Amma turned towards Khushi,she waved delightedly at her.
Arnav gestured that they would b coming over there & amma nodded.
Arnav: Lemme take u to their suite.
Khushi(confused): Sweet?
Arnav: No,not sweet. Its suite. Our room is the Maharaja suite while theirs' is the Maharani suite.
Khushi: Really? So does r room belong to the Maharaja?
Arnav: It did,in the past. This hotel was a palace,where the royal family used to live. So r room mustve been the Maharaja's bedroom.

Arnav: Buaji,I've got an extra bed over here,for u. But if u want,I can arrange a separate room for u.
Buaji: No need babua! I'd like to stay here with Garima & Sasi babua.
Amma: Ya bitwa. If jiji stays in another room,she'll feel lonely.
Arnav: Thats exactly what I thought. Thats y I got this extra bed. I hope u'll dont hav any problems?
Babuji: No Arnav babu! The room is wonderful,the garden is beautiful & we get a lovely view of the mountains from here. What more could we ask for?
Arnav: I'm glad that u'll liked the room! Ammaji,u can take babuji to the garden for sometime in the evening.
Amma: Yes,I will, bitwa.
Arnav: There's a musuem over here,which closes at 6 pm. So if u'll want,u can see that. And in case u plan to go there,plz Khushi alongwith u.
Buaji: Wont u come there,babua?
Arnav: No buaji. I have no interests in seeing a museum. Besides, I need to complete some work.
Buaji: Not a problem. We'll take Sanka devi along while u complete ur work at ease.

Arnav noticed amma looking a bit nervous.
Arnav: What happened ammaji? U can tell me if there's a problem..
Amma: No bitwa.. There's no problem...

Amma: I.. dont think staying over here is a good idea. I was telling the same to jiji before u both came here. (hesitates)How can we stay at such an expensive hotel on r son-in-law's expense?
Arnav: Forget the fact that I'm ur son-in-law for a few days.Just think of me as ur son! A son has full rights to make sure that his parents & aunt r staying in a good place!
Buaji: We do consider u as r son,babua! We may agree to what u're saying.. But what will people say?
Arnav: Who r these people,buaji? Plz dont bother about what people might or might not say! Nobody is coming here for an inspection to check where u're staying,what u're doin,what u're eating,etc! Arnav: Thats better! U'll hav already had ur bath. Now lemme hav mine. We can meet an hour later for lunch. I'll order it in my room. I'll call u over there once it's served.
Buaji: Alright babua.
Arnav walks out to the balcony and taps Khushi's shoulder,momentarily scaring her.
Khushi: Hey Devi Maiyya! U scared me!
Arnav: U were so busy looking at the scenery that u failed to notice me. Whats my fault in this?
Khushi: The scenery is so beautiful,what can I do?!
Arnav: Do u see those mountains over there?...
He pointed to the mountain in the distance.
Khushi(nods): Yes?
Arnav: Those r Trikuta hills,the Vaishnodevi temple is situated over there.
Khushi(surprised): Really?
Arnav(nods): Yup!
Khushi(folds her hands): Devi Maiyya ki jai ho!
She holds Arnav's arm.
Khushi: U've brought me to the best place,Arnavji! There could b no other place better than this one for my stay! Thank u so,so much!
Arnav: How many times shall u thank me? We should get going now,the dr's on his way.
Khushi: Yes.

Arnav: Khushi,u wont get down the bed today. Understood?

Arnav(interrupts): Let that bandage get off ur foot tomorrow. Then I'll take u wherever u want to go.Okay?

Arnav(hands her the remote): Watch this while I hav my bath.

**After 20 minutes**
Khushi switches off the TV): Oh-ho! There's nothing interesting to watch on TV! Niether is Salmanji's film showing on any channel or can I find any song of his! To top it all,Arnavji is bathing for so long! As if he didnt get to hav a bath since many days!
She decides to lie down for a while.
No sooner did Khushi lie down than Arnav came out of the bathroom.
The sight of his wet hair falling on his forehead,the white towel wrapped around his waist & his bare torso aroused Khushi.
Arnav: U're not watching TV?
Khushi shook her head & averted her gaze.
Arnav: Y?
Khushi: Nothing..interesting..
Arnav nodded & proceeded to latch the bathroom door.
Arnav(frowns): This latch was absolutely fine a while back.What happened now?
While he was fiddling with the latch his wife was feasting her eyes on his bare,sexy,muscular upper back.
Khushi(thinks): Y do I feel as if I'm.. seeing Arnavji.. like.. this after many years,Devi Maiyya? The truth is that I'd seen him like this.. some days back..(blushes) I mean,some nights back..
She blushed crimson while she recalled their love making on the stairs & in the kitchen.
Khushi(thinks): How many days hav passed since that night?
She started counting on her fingers.

As she shifted her gaze to his back,she felt the urge to feel his taut muscles beneath her soft fingers.

Khushi(startled): U.. here?!
Arnav: Welcome back to Earth! I've been sitting here since the last 2 minutes.
Khushi(embarassed): Oh.. I.. didnt know that.
Arnav: What were u thinking about?
Khushi: Nothing!
Arnav(leans closer): Really?
Khushi: hh.. haa..
Arnav(shrugs): Okay. I guess I should change now..
Khushi(mtters): Ya. That would b better for me as well!
Arnav: What did u say?
Khushi: Ya!Ya! U should.. wear some.. clothes..
Arnav got up & to Khushi's dismay,opened the knot of his towel.
The towel fell to the floor while Arnav stood in front of Khushi in his naked glory.
Khushi tightly closed her eyes & covered her eyes with her palms.
Khushi: Hey Devi Maiyya!
Arnav: Come on Khushi! Stop reacting as if u're seeing me naked for the first time!
Khushi: How else do u expect me to react when u suddenly remove ur towel? Y r u even arguing with me? U should change in the bathroom.
Arnav: Y cant I change over here?
Khushi: Fine,u do that! Tell me once u're done.Then I'll open my eyes.
Arnav: I can wear my clothes later. Right now I hav some important work.
Khushi(thinks): What important work requires him to b naked?
She was wondering what was so important when she felt him next to her on the bed.
Khushi immediately dropped her hands & opened her eyes.
Khushi: Arnavji,what r u doin? U'll fall down! Thanks to my foot,niether will I b able to turn nor will I b able to shift. So if u fall down, what will I do?
Arnav didnt say anything.
Khushi: If u want lie down,u go to the other side of the bed & lie down over there. There's not enough space over here for u to lie down.
Arnav(struggling to balance himself): Thats ok! I'll manage!
Khushi: How shall u manage? U'll fall down! Do 1 thing,l.. lie on..top of me..
Arnav: Nope! I dont want to put pressure on ur foot.
Khushi: Well,in that case,go & lie on the other side of the bed.
Arnav pretended to fall off the bed.
Khushi(screamed): Arnavji!!
She placed an arm around his waist & pulled him towards herself with all her might.
Arnav: I'm fine,Khushi!
Khushi(scolds): I can see that! U couldve hurt urself! I dont understand,y r u doing all this?Y dont u get up?
Arnav: I'll get up only if u tell me what u were thinking about.
Khushi: Hey Devi Maiyya! So u're doin all this to know that?
Arnav nodded.
Khushi(leaving his waist): Get off the bed,right now! Wear some clothes & go & lie on the other side of the bed,decently. Then I'll tell u about it.
Arnav: No! I'm not goin anywer. I wanna know right now!
He again pretended to fall off the bed & was pleased when Khushi instantly put her arm around his waist.
Khushi: Areh! Y r u acting so stubbornly?
Arnav: even u're being stubborn,Khushi!
He placed his hand on the matress,across Khushi's body,pinning her to the matress.
Then he leaned his face closer to hers,such that his breath fanned her face.
Khushi closed her eyes.
Arnav could feel the rapid rise & fall of her chest beneath him.
Arnav: I'd told u naa?U dont need to feel shy! U can say & do whatever u want!I know u were thinkin about me! I also know that u wont reveal what u were thinking if I asked u. Thats y I'm doin all this.
With his free hand,he tucked a loose tendril of her hair behind her ear.
Arnav(in a husky tone): Now tell me,what were u thinking?
Khushi: I.. was.. thinking..
Arnav: What?
Khushi wrapped her left arm around his shoulder and turned her head to the right,trying her best to hide herself in his chest.
Arnav felt himself hardening when Khushi's lips brushed on his chest as she spoke.
Khushi: Its been.. a few days.. since.. I saw u.. this way.
Arnav kissed the back of his neck & Khushi tightened her hold on his waist.
Arnav: So u were counting the no. of days?
Khushi nodded.
Arnav: What else?
Khushi: I dont know y.. I feel as if.. I havent seen u.. like this.. since ages! Like we were away from.. each other for 5 months n.. not 5 days!
Arnav: And?
Khushi: woh.. (gulps) When.. u're like this..
Arnav: Like what?
Khushi(gulps): When.. u're.. so close.. to me..
Arnav: Yes?..
Khushi: I like it! It.. feels good to.. hav u.. so close..!
Finally!,thought Arnav & smiled.
Khushi: I feel.. very safe.. in ur arms..

He moved her hair away from her neck & was about to kiss her when..

Arnav closed his eyes & sighed.
Khushi: Amma,babuji.. & buaji must also.. b hungry..

He got up from the bed & wore his clothes in silence.
Khushi: Arnavji..

Buaji: We'd like to visit two temples over here- 1 is the Raghunath mandir & the other is the Ranbireswar mandir..
Khushi: Yes!That apart,I want to visit peerbaba's dargah. And I want to buy anardaana from the local market. Right amma?
Amma: Yes bitiya. Anaardaana & aampaapad r the speciality of this place!
Arnav: Shubham will get u anaar & aam. But..
Khushi(interrupts): Not anaar,we need anaardaana!And aampaapad!
She smacks her head.
Khushi: Who am I talking to? U leave it. I'll explain everything to Shubhamji. He'll get these things from the market for me.I'll give some of it to u,amma, I'll keep some for myself & I'll take the rest home.
Amma: Ok bitiya.
Arnav: Whatever! Tomorrow we'll visit both the temples & the dargah, provided Khushi's foot is better. If the dr. says it isnt better,Khushi wont go anywhere!
Buaji: I'm with Arnav babua.I'm telling u,Sanka devi.. dont hop about here & there today.Take adequate rest today.That will enable u to roam around freely tomorrow.
Khushi: U really think,buaji,that he'll let me hop around here? Even if I move my leg a bit,he scolds me!
Buaji: Good for u,Nandkisore! U never listen to me. Atleast u're listening to Arnav babua!
Arnav: Right! Now,lemme tell u my plan for the remaining part of r trip. Tomorrow i.e. Saturday's plan is all set. On Sunday,I wish to go to Gulmarg & I'd like u all to come along.
Khushi: So u've got work over there?
Arnav: Ya. I wanna go there for skiing. Gulmarg has the highest green golf course in the world! I wanna play golf over there. Plus,I wanna take u all on a gondola,I mean cable car ride from Gulmarg to Khilanmarg. Basically,I want to enjoy with all of u!
Khushi: I dont understand, how is skiing karne & playing golf a part of ur work?
Arnav: Since I'm on a vacation,enjoying & having a good time is my work!
Amma: Bitwa,y dont u take Khusi alone over there? I mean.. y do u want us to join u?
Arnav: How can we leave u behind? We've come here together,we're staying together so we'll hav fun also together! Dont worry! U're goin to love that place,I'm sure!
Amma looked towards babuji who nodded in approval.
Babuji: Alright,damaad babu. We'll come along. But how shall we reach Gulmarg?
Arnav: Leave all that to me. I'll ask Aman to make all the arrangements! We'll stay overnight in Gulmarg on Sunday. And on Monday,we'll leave for Srinagar.
Khushi: So we're in the palace for only 2 days?
Arnav: Ya Khushi! I know u love this place! But.. we hav very less time at hand.So..
Khushi: I understand..
Arnav: Monday morning we'll reach Srinagar,where we'll b stayin at Vivanta by Taj. We'll go wherever u want,in Srinagar,on Monday & Tuesday. Then..
Khushi: 1 minute Arnavji.. Since we're goin to stay in Srinagar for 2 days,y dont we rent a houseboat on Dal lake & spend a night over there?(excited) It'll b amazing!
Arnav: Whats the need to do all that, Khushi? I'll take u for a shikara ride on the Dal lake. Lets stay in Taj only.
Khushi: Lets spend 1 night in a houseboat,Arnavji.. We'll get to spend 1 night in Taj naa? Staying in a Houseboat will b so much fun! Plz say yes..
Arnav: Okay,yes.
Khushi(beams): Thank u!
Arnav: So on Monday we'll rent a houseboat & stay overnight in it. On Tuesday morning,we'll move to the Taj.We'll b leaving for Delhi on Wednesday afternoon,from Srinagar station right?
Babuji: Yes.So.. how will u go back?
Arnav: I'll come with u'll in the train.I'll manage to get the tickets.
Babuji(smiles): Ok.
Arnav: So the plan's fixed?
Babuji: Absolutely!
Khushi: 100 percent!
Arnav: Tonight,we'll hav dinner at the restaurant downstairs,i.e.Nilaya. And.. since there's a tea/coffee maker in r rooms..
Amma(getting the hint): Ya,ya bitwa! I know how to use that thing. Dont worry! I'll prepare the evening tea in it.
Buaji: From where will u get milk,Garima? The fridgewa in r room doesnt hav milk.
Arnav: There must b Milk powder sachets inside the fridge. Plz use those to make tea.
Buaji: Milk powder..
Arnav: In case u want to have regular tea,u can call room service & place an order for that.
Buaji: That'll b better, babua!
Amma: I'll.. take ur babuji to the garden in the evening.
Arnav: Yes. It wont b possible to visit the musuem today. But u can enjoy the view from the garden.I & Khushi will join u'll over there for sunset.
Amma nods.
Buaji: We should leave now. Sasi babua needs to take rest.
Amma: So does Khusi. Lets go, jiji.
Khushi: Wow amma! U didnt tell me today to take care of myself!
Amma(smiles): Arnav bitwa is there naa! When he's here I dont need to worry about u! U take care. I'll c u in the evening,in the garden.
Khushi: Ji.
Amma: I'll take ur leave,bitwa..
Arnav: Ji ammaji. In case there's a problem or u need anything,do call me.

The Guptas' left for their room while Arnav closed the door,pondering upon amma's words
