PART 36

The next morning, khushi got up a bit early to meet with shruti as she knew if Arnav gets to know about her meeting with shruti, she would be grounded. Early in the morning was the ebst time for her. She wanted to sort out the misunderstanding between arnav and shruti. But somewhere inside her, she knew that wasn't the reason she was going there for. She had doubt on shruti when she left her alone in the cafe but got carried away when she all cried and apologized. But now that Arnav's words say something else, it was enough for her to have a full doubt. She recalled,

"When I was returning one of the shopkeeper told me that you left. So I thought you must be at the hotel."

She recalled arnav's words, "She left you in that caf and it's not her fault? She didn't feel the importance to call me that she oculdn't find you in the caf and it's not her fault, when I went to her room she rather was RELAXED than being worried about you and it's not her fault?"

She asked the manager of the hotel for the address of the caf and asked him not to tell Arnav or aman about it.

She went to the caf and searched for the waiter who was at service for them. she saw her after sometime and headed towards him.

Khushi: Excuse me?

Waiter: yes mam?

Khushi: hi! I'm khushi. I came her 3 days ago. Remember me?

Waiter: oh yes mam! How are you?

Khushi: I'm fine thanks! I actually need some help from you. Can you just give me five minutes?

Waiter: yah sure.

They went to the corner of the caf as where they were standing was in the middle of the caf and was too crowded.

Khushi: do you remember the other lady who came with me?

The waiter thought for sometime and then talked

Waiter: yes

Khushi: yah when did she come back again? Like what did she come back for?

Waiter: she didn't come back mam. As far as I remember, you were the last customer who was waiting and when you left we closed up the shop.

Khushi: are you sure? May be you went somewhere else? May be the ,manager knows?

Waiter: no man. I'm at night shift and I stayed till the caf was closed. And anyways, it's my job to do it so

Khushi was really confused now and started to suspect shruti more.

Khushi: Alright. Thanks a lot!

Waiter: no problem mam. Nice meeting you again

Khushi: same

She came back to the hotel with a bunch of questions in her mind.

She knocked shruti's room. Shruti opened the door and was surprised to find khushi at such an odd time. It was 9:05 in the morning and the person she sees infront of her is khushi!

Shruti: khushi? you?

Khushi: hi shruti ji! May I come in?

Shruti: oh ya! I'm sorry! Sure please come in

What does this girl want now?!!- shruti thought

Khushi: I'm so sorry shruti ji for yesterday. Arnav's behavior was really rude towards you. I tried to talk to him but he wouldn't listen. He-

Shruti: no it's okay Khushi. I don't mind when ARNAV scolds me actually. It's just that, I can't bear HIS anger for long towards me. You know how close he was to me in college days.

Everytime khushi hears about their friendship, her face just goes pale. Not that she doubts Arnav but because she feels she is coming betweentwo BEST friends, two'.. CLOSE friends. She feels guilty.

She brushed off her thoughts and focused on the main reason of coming here. But she can't just ask her the question directly. It might hurt her feeling, khushi thought

Khushi: uhh '.Shruti ji?

Shruti: ya?

Khushi: I'm just asking this because I want to talk to Arnav and clear everything. Can you just tell me what happened that day? After you left from the caf?

Shruti: that day, I left the caf and when I got back, I sae that you weren't there. I waited for you for half an hour but you didn't' show up. So I went back to the hotel and went to my room.

Khushi was in shock. Was the waiter lying? Or shruti?. But why would the waiter lie? But why would even SHRUTIJI do it to ME?

Khushi: oh. But you said you called arnav right?

Shruti: oh yaahhh! Of course I called arnav. after all I was all worried for you khushi! I informed her all about you.

She was in real shock now. She couldn't believe her ears. Why was she lying? OF COURSE, Arnavji wouldn't lie. Why IS SHTUTIJI lying to me?

But she changed her expression to a normal one as she didn't want shuti to get a hint that she got to know about her lies.

Khushi: oh! I'm saying sorry again on behalf of arnav. but I'll make sure everything is back in its place like BEFORE. I'll find everything and sort it all out okay? Don't worry!

Yes yes! That's the relief khushi. that's the only reason I'm behaving so nicely with you. Or else, I wouldn't give shit to your nonsense- shruti thought

Khushi got up and headed towards the door.

As she got out of her room and went near the stairs, khushi felt a hand gripping her hand tightly. khushi gasped and her eyes widened as big and round as saucer seeing the person infront of her. ARNAV!

He put one hand to cover her mouth and pulled her to the elevator. The elevator was empty.

Arnav had dangerous expression in his face and khushi was too shocked to utter a word.

Arnav got his phone out of his pocket and dialed someone's number..

Arnav: yah! YAH I WANT ELEVATOR #9 TO BE OUT OF SERVICE FOR 15 MINUTES. LET THE LIGHTS TURNED ON BUT NO ONE SHOULD USE THIS ELEVATOR FOR 1Q5 MINUTES, DO YOU GET THAT?
