Chapter 16
"Shyam Babuwa… where are you going?" Buaji asked, seeing Shyam coming out of his room carrying his bags. "Did Sanka Devi say something???"
"No no Buaji, why would Khushiji say something bad..." Shyam began. "I just have to leave…"
"But Babuwa you just came today…"
"Buaji my Amma's sick… Abuji just called me; I have to go to them urgently… I'm sorry but I can't stay."
"I'm so sorry Babuwa." Buaji made a sad face.
"It's okay Buaji." Shyam said, then he walked up to Buaji and handed her some money. "Here's the rent I had promised to pay as a paying guest… I can't thank you enough for you hospitality."
"Oh no no… no need to pay Babuwa. Just take good care of you Amma." Buaji smiled, giving him the money back.
"No Buaji keep it, please I insist." Shyam thrust the money back in her hands. "Oh and Buaji did you talk to Khushiji?"
"Yes… about that, Babuwa, I'm afraid you were a little late, Sanka Devi just told us that Arnav Babuwa, her boss, proposed and she said yes to him." Buaji continued. "I talked to her parents and they seem to support her decision…"
Salay Sahab and Khushiji??? No wonder she knew about Rani Sahiba! Oh No… I hope she didn't tell this to Salay Sahab or else he's kick me out in no time! But how could she say yes to him over me???
"I'm sorry Babuwa, I tired." Buaji finished, giving Shyam a back pat.
Snapping out of his thoughts Shyam smiled sweetly at Buaji. "It's okay Buaji, I better get going now."
Bowing his head in farewell towards her Shyam walked out of the Gupta house carrying his bags.
How dare you Salay Sahab? How dare you Arnav Singh Raizada? How dare you keep an eye on Khushiji…? My Khushiji…????

Khushi got out of the car, re-reading her crappy review and mentally preparing herself for the bullshitting she was going to get. She was no expert but even she could tell it was the worst piece ever and Arnav Singh Raizada would chew a new one for sure. It wasn't like she could actually write anything worth reading when that animal came anytime things got really good. She'd managed to complete the movie but already, Mr. Animal had made two appearances. Apparently, he was a romantic too. Too busy worrying about the looming meeting, she barged in the front doors without looking up…
And bumped into none other than Lavanya ji. Her…no, his body was quite happy with the contact. Hurriedly, she pushed herself back.
'Lavanya.' By now, she'd mastered the art of talking like she owned the world.
"ASR… Oh I'm so sorry" Lavanya straightened reluctantly. Obviously, she wouldn't mind being thrust against the wall and… oh no Khushi, not going there. No!
She cleared her throat, told his body to get a grip and walked over to her… no, his cabin, dismissing Lavanya. She had other pressing problems right now… like the wrath of Arnav Singh Raizada awaiting her for delaying the review.
Hey devi Maiya…Please please don't let the laad governor be angry at me. She silently prayed as she walked inside the cabin. To her relief Arnav ji was not in there. Raksha krna Devi Maiya (keep me safe).
She didn't look back to see Lavanya rooted to the spot.
ASR just ignored me…ignored ME? Again?
"ASR" she called after him but Khushi didn't respond.
Lavanya watched him close the door, her eyes narrowed. She wasn't going to back down easily. No one ignored her, not even ASR.
Khushi sat down in the chair with a sigh and turned around. Her eyes met Lavanya's. She was staring at her/him with a curious expression, a mixture of anger and lovestruck obsession. Oh man she is so clingy!!! And she loves him so much, and that stupid laad governor doesn't care… laad governor… Oh no…
Putting Lavanya out of her mind, she got busy trying to improve her sorry excuse of a review.
…………………………………………………………….
Arnav walked in the office, his mind churning out ways to break the happy news to Khushi…yeah right! Focus… without her getting the wrong impression… like I'm in love with her. Her? Heck, Lavanya would be a better choice than her!
He saw her, in his body, sitting in his chair, in his cabin… aaargh, what did I ever do to deserve this? And look at her, working like everything's hunky dory… like we're not in the midst of the weirdest situation in the history of mankind.
Shaking his head to purge himself of the undue anger, he started walking towards his office when Lavanya walked out of her cabin and saw him… or her. Gah, if this doesn't end soon, I'll develop Gender Identity disorder.
"Chamkili? Why are you here?"
Man, she is so irritating, I need to get rid of her.
"I work here. Now, if you'll excuse me Lavanya ji, I need a word with Mr. Raizada."
"How dare you speak to me like that...?" She began but Arnav simply strode past her – at least he tried to; w0ith Khushi's body, it was more likely to come across as scampering but he wouldn't let that matter - into the cabin. He had more pressing issues to deal with like… Khushi Kumari Gupta.
………………………………………………………………
Khushi heard the door open and immediately forestalled him. No one else bothered her, er, him except him… no, her? Devi Maiya, this was confusing.
"One moment, Mr. Raizada." Khushi began, not bothering to look up, manically finishing her review. 'Before you say anything, it wasn't my fault! If you want to blame anyone for delaying the review, you can blame yourself 'cause that's the only reason I couldn't write."
"What? Khushi…" Arnav looked at her; she was looking decidedly rumpled and had a hunted look about her. She was writing frantically and it was kind of demeaning to see this sort of fear depicted on his, ASR's face. After all, anyone looking at them would see ASR cowering in front of the tiny Khushi Kumari Gupta. Utterly unacceptable. 'Khushi, look at me!' he snapped.
She hit a key with a flourish. 'Yes, I'm done!'
'Enough! Khushi, sit up straight and look at me!' He squeaked… er, thundered. Damn her girly voice.
Khushi took the prints and shuffled the papers, placing them on the desk and straightened, finally deeming to look at him. Her… or rather, his own, eyes widened and nostrils flared in an eerily familiar look.
…………………………………………
Khushi placed the new and improved version of her review on the desk for him to read and mentally prepared herself for his questions. I'm ready. Here goes.
Opening her eyes, she looked up at him…
And every rational thought flew out of her brain.
After the movie last night, her… no, his body was primed and even the tiniest stimulus was enough to make it raring and ready to go.
And apparently, Mr. Raizada's body found her hot because every drop of blood rushed south as she took in the vision in front of her, with those lush curves and luscious lips that were moving, most likely to form some words. But the only thoughts that she could coherently form were that she so wanted to kiss those lips.
Oh my Devi Maiya, I can't believe I'm thinking about kissing myself. Forgive me!
Her horror at her thoughts brought the world back into focus and her voice, ringing with ASR's wrath.
'I'm warning you Ms. Gupta, don't you dare!' He thundered. It was funny how he could do that, even while dressed like that and looking like butter wouldn't melt in his mouth. Mmm, melt… bet those lips taste like melting strawberry ice cream…
'Snap out of it!' he banged the desk. She straightened with a jerk, then bent again as pain shot from her groin. Her zipper rasped angrily against her crotch but she felt it was safer to sit like this. That way, she would feel less like pushing her…no, him against the wall and ravishing him like that hero did in the movie. And this body, this wonderfully powerful body was more than willing to participate. In fact, she couldn't recall why it was a bad idea. No, it was a great idea.
Decided, she started to get up but a sharp kick in her shins had her down in the seat, howling out in pain and frustration. 'Ow, you bully! Why'd you hit me?'
'I'm going to say this for the last time, so listen carefully. Snap. Out. Of. It. And pay attention. We've something important to talk about.' He leaned over the desk, and the neckline dipped attractively, inviting her to take a peek.
She pinched herself on the thigh and the sting took her mind of the lustful thoughts crowding inside her head. 'Yes, yes, we do. Uhm, uh… the review…'
'Forget the review. Tell me about Shyam.' He said the name like it was disgusting and his eyes were suspicious.
'Shyam ji? What about him?'
"Who is he?" he said the words as if they were significant. Almost unconsciously, he flipped his hair out of his face. God, he's cute. Focus!
"Oh he is a very nice guy; Shyamji's a lawyer here he's handling Buaji's pension case."
"Hmm… how did you meet him?"
"He saved me from the goons who came after me, thanks to the video tapes you released, back in Lucknow."He's totally evil but damn, he's so soo…
"Pay attention! Anything else you know about him?"
"Except that he's a great person, no, not much."
"Save the sarcasm Khushi and listen up. Shyam is my Jiju! De's husband."
"Oh… wow that's great, De's very lucky."
"Yeah, whatever. Back to business. Someone proposed you he wasn't right for you, so I said no. But your Buaji wouldn't listen so I ended up telling her that we're engaged."
"What??? App aur hum? (You and me)." That drove all thoughts of kissing him senseless out of her.
"Yes, you and me. Now, I need you to go to De as me, of course,' He glared at her, 'and tell her you have found the girl she was predicting about and tell her to officially go ask for your hand for me."
"I'm not going to marry you." Khushi flared.
"Well, the feeling's mutual Miss Gupta, but you have no choice, not until we're stuck in each other's bodies! Besides, being engaged to me would make is easier for us to meet without anyone pointing a finger at your family or you."
It made complete sense but in utter ASR fashion, he'd forgotten another player. "What about Lavanya ji?"
"What about her?" He shrugged.
'Aren't you two together?' Lavanya and him/her together… mmm.
'Ow!' Arnavji withdrew his long nailed fingers, fingers that had just pinched the crap out of her, buffing them casually on his shirt.
'Focus.' He drawled, smirking like he'd actually enjoyed it. 'As for Lavanya, break up with her.'
"What? Breakup with Lavanya ji?" Her body protested loudly. Lavanya ji was so totally hot. Not hotter than him, of course but still… 'How could you be so heartless? Do you even know how much she loves you?"
"Lavanya loves my status. Just do as you're told."
"No way, I'm not going to let you make such a mistake; Lavanya ji loves you and I won't be the one breaking up lovers."
"For the love of whatever god you pray to, Khushi I don't 'love' her and neither does she. We are not lovers. And why am I even explaining that? Just do as I tell you."
Khushi pouted and made him wince. Damn, I don't look good doing that. Okay, no more sorrowful eyes for me. Khushi stood up and made as if to go out. 'I won't do, I'm telling you. If you want to break up with her, you can at least have the decency to wait until you get back in your body and can tell it to her, face to face!'
Arnav put an arm out to stop her and Lavanya chose that moment to barge in. 'ASR, I…'
Her eyes widened at the no-doubt cozily intimate scene in front of her – Arnav holding on to Khushi like she was his lifeline – and an idea struck him out of the blue. Khushi, thankfully, was too distraught and had yet to notice Lavanya. That made it easier.
He whirled her around. Or tried to. She was stronger than him and obviously resisting. That left him no choice. 'Khushi?' he whispered softly.
She turned and he jumped her.
