Do you know this is one hell of a story which drags all my emotions to the maximum, making me forget this is a figment of your imagination and it isn't real..As I read each line, each feeling, I feel as if it is happening to me...
As you very well know I am biased to Lavanya. I have my own reasons for it, which is difficult to explain. Even though, I was waiting this meeting between La and Kushi, I never expected La to be nervous. But you made her feel real, you showed her in a perspective where even Kushi too could understand that behind the mask of social grace and ASR like persona La is also a simple woman with needs like Kushi to be loved and to love..I liked this scene, for its simple beauty - where La realises what was missing in her life and what is that she was longing for without realising
"Lavanya staring at her and Arnav's photo on the side wall of her dining room where the collections of her family photos are framed. La had a dreamy expression in her eyes. Kushi came slowly near her and extended the coffee.
Kushi: Coffee
La (without turning): I have never seen him smile like this, such a genuine smile!
Again this scene for it showed the vulnerable La where she is a plain woman wondering what was her fault in this whole situation. It breaks my heart really - believe me, it isn't easy for a woman like La to admit and ask where was she wrong or what she missed out. It shows how badly she was defeated for no fault of hers.
La(in a lost voice): I wonder where I lacked Kushi!
Again this scene --- the background was excellent, there is some poetic beauty to it.
The fan twirling sound filled the room. The book Kushi was reading before was left on the swing chair. The pages ruffled carelessly.
La's story of her relationship with Arnav, spoken from memories, I felt a pull, may be the balcony and the open talk from La, a woman who never had anyone to talk about her feelings or about her heart. She tells Kushi about her illusions, hopes, prayers, fears, beliefs, and finally her realisations. The bold words are the words or lines which really pinched my heart
La: But with time, I realized that though I had fame, success, money, I was completely alone, especially after my Dad's death. Arnav was the only one in my life. Gradually my feelings for him changed and I started expecting more from him. Arnav was aware of it. Both of us were going through a lot then. So it was just understandable that we took solace in each other, or so I thought.
She chuckled dryly.
La: But it was just me. He could never find solace in me. He could never get what I got from him; feel what I felt for him. He felt that for you. You know, even before he told me about you, I did get hints. I was sure there was more to the gossips that appeared about you. But I was a coward and decided to not believe it. I'm sorry, but I thought and hoped you will be a gold digger who would leave him once you have made it to the top. And he will come back to me. Even now, when I came here, my intention was to buy you out, but now sitting here like this, seeing that photo over there, I know it is not possible.
Honestly C, I don't feel a bit for your Kushi. I feel her selfish even now. She feels disgust for her actions but no repentance.
A lone tear left Kushi's eyes for this woman before her. Knowingly or unknowingly, she was also a reason for this woman's sorrow. She had never wished to build her future on another person's ashes. No never. But now she is doing that. She is snatching this woman's mangalsutra from her! There was never a moment before that Kushi hated herself for the decision she took. She felt disgusted by her own existence. Kash!!
You bought La back to her business persona but she couldn't hide her vulnerability. Her last chance for not losing out the last bit of the rope she is hanging on to for her life. For a woman like La, even if Arnav doesn't love her, he is the stabilizing anchor in her life, if he leaves her, she can't exist. To the world she might be a toughest deal breaker but inside she is a scared, emotional little girl whose only light is Arnav
Lavanya could not bring herself to tell Kushi this. So instead she passed her medical reports to Kushi and waited in silence. She had nothing further to say. She doesn't know how to beg or plead, she don't know how to demand, she don't know how to ask for help. She was not used to all this. If it was just about her pain, she would have left this apartment long before. But she had to do this for her child. One last time, she assured herself.
Honestly C, I hate your Arnav like I have hated anyone in my life...Why the damn is he concerned if La is not well?
Sheila greeted him standing up and Arnav rushed to Lavanya's side. (Realy?)
Arnav felt like he was slapped (He should be).
This was such a shock to him. And to hear it from Lavanya, who sat there coolly looking all normal, made him feel something indescribable. (I did wonder for a moment why La was in her mask, cool and unfeeling but then understood its her defence mechanism)
Arnav didn't know how to react. He clearly know he is responsible for all this. But now when everything was going to be alright, he doesn't know how to feel about this sudden thing. He really didn't know how to react. He could feel Lavanya's gaze on him while his mind could only show him Kushi's smiling face.
(you have no idea how much I hated Arnav for this one scene, his concern for Kushi really bought a bhadrakali in me, I can't say why, but it hurts too badly. He did a big wrong to La and instead he is concerned about Kushi. Do you remember when I asked you about how badly Arnav had taken La like a wh**e, only for his needs that day due to his frustration towards Khushi. I was so mad at him. And now I really want to thrash him. I am glad that at least he realises he is responsible for all this mess)
