A Dark Love

Did he hear right? Ofcourse he'd heard right. He'd seen something in her eyes as he met with her. He'd tried to say something in reply but feeling words stuck in the roof of his throat he kept back his words in his mind and gulps of air trying to stable his shaking breath and then again He stared down at her, his endless gaze trying to draw closer to him, consciousness teased the corners of her mind as met with his deep gaze and then turned away her eyes feeling embarrassed, scolding herself in frustration, biting her tongue in anger asking for his help.

I shouldn't have said that. She thought deliberately moving her eyes around in frustration so she could avoid looking back in his eyes. As she looked away he roused from his thoughts, hot pain lanced through the veins moving towards his heart, the knot in his stomach tightened, A gasp escaped his lips as he came back into reality'Damn it why are you gazing her? He eyed her hasty retreat and annoyance, frustration surged through him? He cursed himself under his breath and took a long, deep breath and then straightening himself slipped out the room taking long strides.

Why did I ask him for help?'I shouldn't have done that. She took a breath of panic..No I shouldn't have asked for his help. No matter the attraction, the spark, the simmering desire, it would not do to become involved with this man. She could not run the risk of allowing him to go deep into the layers of her mind, her heart. She gulps for air leaning back resting her head against the pillow curling under the covers, her eyes were still lost somewhere'her heart was still pounding fast thinking the way he held her in his arms, ignoring her protest, applied the ointment on her wound, taking care of her. Why did this man affect her so deeply? And knew there was no logical reason for it. She shook herself mentally and closed her eyes trying to jerk away that moment.

Arnav gazed around the kitchen with frustration and confusion letting out a gasp of irritation, "what I suppose to do here?"An involuntary stern, angry smile creased his lips and he breathed calming down his nerves."I should check in the refrigerator'I may find something to eat"

He opened the door of the fridge and poked his head inside leaning down but there was some raw meat, bread, eggs, fruits, jam, butter and vegetables-no cooked food. He muttered and after thinking several minutes he grabbed out the bread, an egg and butter.

"What the hell I'm going to do now" muttering in frustration, He kept them angrily on the shelf and lit the fire, took a pot and poured some water into it and put it on the stove, cursing and getting irritated with himself he was doing what his heart wanted him to do ,ignoring the logical arguing of his mind.

Twenty minutes later she heard the sound of footsteps .Arnav took a deep breath, squared her shoulders and, gripping the knob, he firmly pushed open the door. She consciously curled herself more under the cover sensing who possibly entered in the room.

"Ermm! I bring--- something for ---you to eat"

His voice shook slightly as he completed his words gulping for airs, Khushi popped her head and her gaze shot's to his'he could've seen the unbelievable look on her face and the shocking lit in her deep'dark eyes, a sinking sensation in the pit of his stomach and he quickly moved away his eyes before it would get difficult for him to remove away his eyes from her face.

She took several of the moments before recollecting her senses---it was a dream or reality? she was still stuck in this question but the genuine concern look that was touching the edge of his face and she could've seen that though he was trying hard to hide it'it wasn't fake'her heart wanted to accept it that the person standing in front of her was the Real Arnav Singh Raizada though her mind didn't want to accept it and was giving her hundreds of logical explanations.

She snapped her thoughts and coming out from the trance of her thoughts as he leaned and kept the tray of food in front of her.

"Don't you think I did---it'for you" he stiffened his voice fastened the hard layer of roughness as he met with her, " I did it because'I don't want people to think I deliberately keep you hungry" He pulled his brows together in a frown as he felt something stuck in his throat.

For the first time she didn't feel urge to give him tight reply but her lashes fluttered and her lips curled into a smile seeing his effort to fasten the layer of roughness around him.
