Chapter Two

The first place Khushi visited after coming to Delhi was Devi Maiya's mandir. In the three days she had been in Delhi, she had not met a single person other than Nani and HP. She had heard that her grandson also stayed with Nani but he was really busy with some project so he comes home much later after she goes to sleep. She didn't know much about this grandson of Nani except that Nani was really disheartened that her grandson hadn't married yet and from her talks it seemed he had a monster temper. Nani told her to stay away from Chote's room as he is a very angry man and can get angry for a silly reason. She didn't want the poor child who suffered so much hardship to get yelled at for no reason. She wanted to see Khushi happy and settled in life.

After three days Nani had asked her which place she would like to see in Delhi and Khushi had immediately mentioned Devi Maiya's mandir. Although very much shocked, Nani was inwardly a little pleased.

"Don't you want to go shopping or sightseeing? "

Khushi had rarely visited any place other than a mandir after her father's death. Her husband had once taken her to a mela along with his children but the way people had sniggered and taunted them, Khushi had refused to go to any public place after that.

So she shook her head. Nani understanding she might be shy and mentally noted to tell Anjali to take her out once she returned from her tour with her hubby.

Thus Khushi found herself in a breathtakingly beautiful mandir in the heart of Delhi.

"Nani isn't this place huge and magnificent?" she chirped and almost started dancing with joy. She skipped and ran half the way up to the mandir.

It was a medium mandir not anything huge but seeing her joy Nani was glad she brought her here.

After aarti, when Nani was discussing with the panditji what could be done for Chote's marriage and telling him her sorrows, Khushi excused herself and started roaming around the place seeing various vendors - churiwalas, phool walas, chaat walas...Khushi ignored them and went to the man sitting at the last corner with tarot cards and a parrot.. He looked like a sadhu

"Bhaiya how much to read my future? "

The man looked at her and replied

"For you 50 rupees"

Buaji had sneakily given her 500 rupees when she was about to leave.. She took out fifty rupees from there...

She gave him the money and the parrot took out a card and handed it to the man

"Trouble!! "

"Trouble?? "

"Yes. Trouble...It will be your enemy and also your friend."

"Kya?! "

"He'll see your inner soul...Your hidden secrets...He'll know everything you know!"

"He!! You are talking as if the trouble is a guy! "

"Shut up and listen!" he said as if in a trance.

"You will be fine for a while but you'll lose control...You'll fall ladki you will fall...He'll be everywhere...The dark..Your heart everywhere...You will try so hard to resist.. .To escape his clutches...You will run...You will hide but he'll find you...BE PREPARED...Be prepared to face the biggest challenge in your life...The biggest temptation...The biggest mistake you'll make in your life...But you'll have a way out...You will be able to choose...Your decision can make or break your life and a lot of lives...You will face life like it's never been faced"

"Is there any way out? "

"There is...Pay me 450 rupees and I will change the future"

What utter crap! She mused. She had buried her parents and a husband. What bigger thing life can have in store for her! He had seen her taking out the money and wanted that money...That's all!

She went away...

"Nani what are you looking at?"

"Kuch nahi bitiya. Just looking at some pics of girls panditji gave me for Chotte"

"Aree wah...This girl is so pretty.. Wow look at that girl's hair...OMG this girl has such ghane kale baal"

"Unfortunately bitiya, Chotte will not like any of them.. "

"Why not?"

"If only I knew...You know bitiya if you had not been married I'd have made Chotte marry you...By hook or by crook...Sigh"

"My husband was not a bad man Nani...What he did for me was a lot...Nani give me the pictures I will make him understand...He'll definitely like one girl or the other...So many pics! "

"No!! Don't bitiya...You don't know his gussa!"

"Aree nani don't worry...I will find a way"

Khushi said with childlike glee clutching the photos with happiness. She had found a mission in her utterly dull world.

"Hey NK:

"Hi Jeff...What's up?"

"Going well...What about you?"

"I'm good...Perfectly fine"

"I don't know NK if you'd like to hear this or not but the other day I was in a party and I met Saiyu there! We were talking and she suddenly asked me "How is NK? Is he okay? What is he doing in life? Does he live alone?" and then she said it's been a long time since she met you and sighed wistfully..."

NK was stunned... He nodded and walked away from there...

"Why did she ask about me? Does she still think about me? Is it possible! "...

And she was so happy :D She is khush means I am khush :)

That tarot card reader was a con-man. But I do agree with him. Trouble will come and that too in the form of a hot headed with a hot body, drop dead gorgeous guy! Sigh! When is he coming in the picture Sami?

This Saiyu na... She is troubling my chikna NK. Please tell her to keep her hands off him!!! Bad bad girl 😆

So, if that was a clue for us readers as well, let me decode...

The dark... Like tall, dark & handsome??? I know someone who fits the bill! But he's not too dark..But beside Khushi, he's plenty dark...

He'll be everywhere.. Like omnipresent..??? Like Arn.. No I am not taking names now...😳

He'll know everything?? That I doubt.. The person I am talking about is pretty dense when it comes to certain dames.. He misunderstands mostly & thinks he knows it all..

He'll know every secret of hers..See through her?? Then you & I are definitely talking about different persons!

So, introduce me to your trouble!!Eagerly waiting!!

& oohhh!!There might be a reconciliation in the offing for NK & Saiyyu??!😉

Nani talks too much about chote's anger...Threatening Khushi ...
3 days and she hasn't even seen him? Does he atleast know that his Nani brought a girl home with her??

Nani is secretly happy that Khushi wanted to visit a temple of all places in Delhi...but she doesn't want her for Arnav just cos she's a widow?? But then Will she be happy abt it if her Chote finally wants to have Khushi??

And that fortune teller ...he wanted to cheat her of her money but what he said was right, right?? She is gonna meet that dark 'he' and everything he said is going to happen ! I think that paragraph gave us a glimpse of the future story !!

This is nothing like what you have written before...

I liked Nani's concern for Khushi and the fact that she could already see a potential bahu in her if not for her previous marriage. I hope that very fact wouldn't thwart Khushi and Arnav coming together in the future.

And they would want NK and Khushi together. One divorced the other widowed... Society!

The future prediction stood out for me. I am expecting alot of intensity and passion...
