Episode 2

*So sorry for the delay*

-At Night-

Khushi stood by the pool, admiring the stars when she felt his gaze. SHe turned aound to see him leaning against the window, smiling. She walked to him smiling, and hugged.

They were locked in an embrace for a few moments. Finally, Arnav broke the silence. "Khushi, I have to ask you something..."

"Ji?" she said, curious.

"Tumhe Payal ki yaad ati hai?" (Do you miss Payal?)

Khushi looked at him for a moment, unsure of what to say. She sighed. "Haan" (Yes)

He hugged her. "US chalein?" (Shall we go to US?)

She pulled back shocked. "Ji?"

He smiled. "We can meet Payal and Akash also..."

Khushi looked pleased; he liked it.

"And isi bahane...We will have our much-needed honeymoon. I am sure Bali in Delhi Idea probably did not have the same effect..."

Khushi blushed deeply and hugged him, sighing contently. "Aur Jiji aur Jijaji bhi humare saath chal sakte hain..." (And Jiji and Jijaji can also come with us...)

Arnav's eyes widened. Unbelievable! "What the-" he said.

Khushi looked up at him, frowning. "Kya?" (What?)

"Khushi, Akash aur Payal..."

Khushi realized what he thought. She laughed. "Arey, humara matlab tha ki Jiji aur Jijaji ki bhi honeymoon bhi nahi hui thi na... Kyunki-"(Arey, I meant that Jiji and Jijaji also did not have a proper honeymoon na...because-) she trailed off.

"I know." Arnav said, not wanting to be reminded of those terrible things he had done and said to her at the time.

Realising what she had said, Khushi hugged him. "Arnavji, wo sab ateet hai...Bhool ke agey badhna dono ke liye accha hai..." (Arnavji, that is past...Forgetting and moving ahead is best for both of us...)

-Aarav's Room-

Aarav was sitting in his room, waiting for his mother to come and wish him a good night. And yet he had been feeling lonely for a few days' before he would sleep with his so called mother Sheetal, and now he was to sleep alone. He managed for a week or 2 but he couldn't today. He couldn't sleep alone today and that was one habit of his which he adapted from his mother.

"Aarav' challo dood peeyo aur sojao'' Aarav looked up to see his mother holding a big glass of warm milk for him and right beside her was his father.

Aarav took the milk glass from her and drank it in one go which did shock Khushi at first. Usually she would have to beg and chase him around the house to make him drink the milk and today had had drunk it in obedience. Something was up, and Khushi could sense it.

'Toh bolo' kya chal raha hai tumhare deemaag mein?' she asked as she wiped the milk surround his mouth.

Arnav and Aarav both looked at Khushi as if she were saying something out of the blue, which she wasn't exactly. 'I know you very well Aarav' I'm sure you have something to ask for or a condition after drinking this milk without me begging you or chasing you' so I'm asking you once' what's cooking in your mind?' Khushi said as she started to make his bed for him.

Arnav glanced at his son and gestured him using his eyes to ask what was up with him, and Aarav simply replied that he was going to talk now. 'Well Ma' umm' I don't want to sleep alone here' so I was thinking if I could sleep in your room and then use this room as my gaming room or fun room''

At that moment both Arnav and Khushi looked at each other and were in a state of surprise when they had heard Aarav feeling lonely. Was that really what he felt? Lonely?

'But I thought you liked your new room Aarav'' Arnav bent on his knees to talk to his son.

'I do dad' but I feel lonely' I mean there's no other kid in this house who I could play with or talk to' but I just want to sleep with you guys'' he spoke in honesty.

Khushi gestured Arnav that they should let him stay with them but Arnav didn't really understand what was going on in Aarav's mind and he had to know.

'Come on big guy' tell me what's the deal?' Arnav tried to know the real reason behind his sudden behaviour.

And finally Aarav did open up, 'All my friends have brothers and sisters' even cousins and I don't even have one''he looked down and pouted.

Khushi had understood what Aarav meant but she couldn't do anything but to let him sleep with them. She thought that maybe that would lighten up his mood a bit but why would she need to worry when her husband was there? 'Oh come on Aarav' we all are here and you could always bring your friends over if you want' even for a sleepover'' this answer was never expected by him and Khushi was left shocked.

'Really dad!' Aarav squealed.

'Yes Aarav'' Arnav hugged him.

Khushi could already sense that Arnav was really spoiling their son' and she had to talk about this tonight with him to tell him that what he was doing may seem right but it was wrong. He was simply spoiling Aarav and not making him understand reality' which was to try and mix in.

Of course she would let Aarav bring a friend over to have fun, but not sleepover because that meant that maybe someday Aarav would ask if he could go too. And she wouldn't allow that at all. She wouldn't be sending her son off to some stranger's house to stay for the night'

'Good night Aarav'' Khushi said before leaving the room.

Arnav and Aarav broke their hug and looked at each other. Aarav's expressions led him to think that she was mad and Arnav did read his mind somehow, 'Yup your mom is mad' don't worry I'll talk to her'' Arnav smiled.

'Good night dad'' Aarav pulled the quilt atop him and Arnav switched the lights off giving him a goodnight kiss before leaving.
