Chapter 5- War Is On!

13th December 2011

Am I being a road block in Khushi's life?

Last night, After I planned to harass NK because
He was suddenly becoming so important in Khushi's life, I met Aakash outside in the front porch.

"Hey Dude...Why the long face?" Aakash said walking beside Me.

"Aakash...Do You think I am a good friend to Khushi.?" I questioned in confusion.

"No...You are the only one who can control my roller coaster of a sister." Aakash smirked making the atmosphere easy.

"Be serious Aakash...Does Khushi find Me a good Friend at all?" I questioned again hoping the answer to be positive.

"Seriously speaking...You are her Best Friend...she trusts You more than herself..." Aakash said.

"You think that..She ..er...is in Love with Me?" I said not being able to control the urge for this question.

"Whooaaa...Dude...That is a new one...Why do You ask?" Aakash questioned peering carefully at my face.

"Because I am in Love with Her...completely.
Always have been." I confessed closing my eyes completely.

"NO WAY! Really???" Aakash questioned incredulously.

"Don't make it look like You did not know...!" I said lightly smacking Aakash's arm.

"I had a vague idea but this is serious now." Aakash said in a sober voice.

"So tell Me now...What does Khushi think of Me?" I questioned.

"Khushi thinks its a rule that 'BEST FRIENDS CANT DATE BEST FRIENDS'...So I guess You have to be more than her best friend Now." Aakash explained.

"Nah! I cant be what Khushi does not want me to be." I said nodding my head.

"Fine...then lose her out to that Guy..NK." Aakash said dismissively.

"But I cant play with Her emotions also." I said thinking about the future consequences.

"Why dont You do one thing...Let Her judge for herself who She should be with.Let her spend some time with NK and then lets see If She finds Him better than You.If Not, Then I am sure she will be back in your life just like before." Aakash explained.

"You are right.I am scratching out the previous plan of harassing NK and I am going to let Khushi judge for herself." I declared in finality.

"Let the best Guy win." Aakash smirked and high-fived Me.

Ok...Now I really gotto Go and get Khushi ready for the shopping trip with NK.

Its a War between NK and Me now.

Let the Best Guy win.

Has fate really decided to make Me embarrassed always?

Mom really crossed all the limits of craziness today morning.

I had to literally scream to make her stop her insane antics.

"Mommy...I am going to pick my clothes on my own...I know what I have to wear!" I screamed while catching the 22nd piece of clothing landing on my face.

"I am not letting You go out of the house looking like You just got up from the wrong side of the bed..." Mom screamed while tossing the 23rd piece of clothing.

"Mom...NK is going to be here any minute and I cant possibly embarrass myself anymore." I explained while pulling Mom slightly to get her out of the closet.

"Fine...Stubborn Girl...I will just be downstairs waiting for NK." Mom squealed delightedly.

I looked around the room which looked like it had just been attacked by aliens.

"Mom...Who will clear this mess now?" I groaned while tossing around the strewn clothes on the floor.

"I will do it...You get ready...We dont want to be late." Arnav's face appeared on the doorway.

"You? Arnav, You are also going with them?" Mom said enthusiastically while her face looked fallen.

"Oh No...I am not going with them, Aunty...Just getting Khushi ready to go with NK." Arnav said faking an innocent look which I was sure was not- so-innocent.

"Arnav...You are not coming with Us...You sure?" I said as soon as Mom was out of earshot.

"Yeah...I promised NK's Mom...You will have a good time with Him.." Arnav explained while closing my closet.

"Okay...If You insist." I replied shortly.

"I think He is the Guy for You...What do You think Aakash?" Arnav questioned suddenly out of no where.

"Yeah...He is the Guy for Khushi." Aakash explained appearing on the doorway.

"Whats wrong with You both?" I questioned suspiciously looking at their not so innocent faces.

"You said the other day...That the guy should be like Arnav? How will You know that if He is like Arnav or not if You don't go out with Him?" Aakash explained.

"Ok..Arnav...You sure, I should go with Him? You won't mind ?" I questioned looking at Arnav's face.

"No...I am damn sure..In fact You should get ready because NK is waiting for You downstairs." Arnav said while clutching my hand in his.

"Ok...Lets Go then." I said in confirmation.

As We proceeded downstairs, NK was being smothered by my Mom's over enthusiastic Love.

"Hey NK." Arnav greeted cordially.

"Hey Arnav...Hi Khushi...Ready?" NK greeted, obviously looking relieved by our presence.

"Yes...Lets Go." I said giving a glance towards Arnav who was smiling brightly.

When I stepped outside, a shiny black motorbike, welcomed Us.

"This is my Baby...Its my 18th Birthday gift." NK exclaimed while igniting the bike.

"Ermm...NK..Are We riding this thing?" I questioned apprehensively.

"Yes Khushi...I drive safely...And what's life without a thrill.? And I will make sure You don't fall!" NK smiled showing me his perfect set of teeth and handed me a helmet.

I don't trust myself for not falling for his breathtaking smile!

"So...What's the first stop? Mall?" NK inquired when I had settled behind him.

"Yes...We will get everything at the Mall." I explained while my voice had acquired a squeak.

As soon as We entered the Mall, we made our way towards the Bookstore.

"So...Arnav is your Boy friend?" NK questioned pointedly.

"Nah! Arnav is my Best Friend..." I explained calmly.

"Oh...Arnav is your Best Friend?? Interesting." NK exclaimed.

Is it that difficult to see that Me and Arnav are Best Buddies??

"So...Are You dating someone?" NK inquired while browsing through the rack of books.

"Ermm..No." I said shortly and let my hair fall on to
my face to hide the rising blush in anticipation of
the route this conversation had taken.

I could feel a sudden rush of electricity jolt through Me when NK gently tucked the stray hair behind my ears.

"You have got a pretty face...Please dont hide it..." NK said and continued, "And a pretty blush too."

This statement made my blush rise higher than possible.

After We had lunch, I was a bit eased out towards NK and had started matching his traits with Arnav.

Caring..Check.

Sweet...Check

Good Looking...Definitely check.

Humor...Check.

"Khushi!!" NK's voice brought me out of My dreamy state.

"Uh Oh...Sorry...What were You saying?" I said composing myself.

"I was saying that Staring at someone is injurious to health." NK smirked and continued," And You replied that I am right.! Whats wrong with You?"

"Oh..Nothing..So whats next on our plan?" I said while my phone had started buzzing.

"I guess...It is getting late...It must be from your house." NK said while I checked.

*PING*

Text message from Arnie

'When are You coming back? I guess You must have bought the entire mall...Right? :O' - Arnie.

I quickly typed out a reply.

'Nah! Just trying to have a good time like You insisted :O- Happiness'

MESSAGE SENT

"NK...I am Sorry..I think we need to head back Home." I said apologetically.

"Oh...Its Okay.We can come here some other time." NK said while his face had been drained of any emotion.

The ride back Home was very quiet.

"Thank You NK...I really had a nice time with You." I said while getting down from the Bike in front of My house.

"You should know that You are a wonderful Girl, Khushi. I think I would like to go out with You again some time. Good Night,Princess."

Princess??

Before I could react, NK was already out of my sight.

I smiled and I am still smiling because somewhere I feel I am in the danger of falling in Love with NK Mehra.

*Yawn*... Now I am very tired.

1. U sent me pm 4 chapter 4 :-O thank god i was stalking this! 2. Comin 2 da update... HAW! Khushiii! In love with nk? *pokerface* ofc, i kno she will end up with arnav, but nk seems nice nd he is gonna get hurt! *scream* uff, my mind is in such a whirl! Anyways, m counting on th fact that knowin ur style of writing, things wont take a serious turn cuz u USUALLY write light stuff... Nd nk cupid? Understood, but HOW?! But he is so sweet nd this is confusing!God, i sound mad dont i? :-D

Ahhh arnav confessed that he loves khushi:D N 2 find out if she loves him aswell...he is giving her space. Welk done!! I hope she will realise is soon.

But like we now...she want some1 who is like arnav.. n i think she is finding nk like that. Thank god nk is just a cupid guy warna everything could go wrong. Btw i wonder how arnav is controlling himself. I bet its gonna be hard.
