The word THRESHOLD sums up this update.
This part deals with the changes that is about to happen. It is a part where everyone is on the brink of change! In fact, it's the inception of change in the life of Raizada brothers. Hence the word threshold, augmenting a new beginning!

"The future is always beginning now"~ Mark Strand
He is dumbfounded to know that there is going to be a welcome addition into his and Kushi's world. Aarti who is yet unaware asks Payal and comes to know that the test yielded positive in all three kits! Aarti is happy for Kushi but is unable to comprehend Arnav Singh Raizada's reaction! She is stupefied by it!
"Perplexity is the beginning of knowledge"
~ Khalil Gibran
A man known for his biting words and ruthlessness in the business world is tongue-tied!!
Payal, trying to control her laughter bubbling within at Aarti's naivety takes her away leaving the newly discovered to be parents alone.
Kushi envelopes her speechless husband in a warm hug.
"True love comes quietly, without banners or flashing lights" ~ Erich Segal
" We are...", he swallowed, "...we are really going to be p... parents?" His eyes were moist & tinged with red.
"Ji.", Khushi smiled at him.
"I never thought... I hoped, but..." He swallowed. Then he rained kisses on her forehead, her nose, her cheeks, and chin. He slowly moved his hand over the flat expanse of her waist, cupping the safe cradle where his son or daughter lay.
"Our baby!", he said in wonder. Khushi placed her hand over his, and both of them looked at their hands.
The lonely heart of Arnav Singh Raizada was first filled with the unconditional love of Kushi and now its brimming and is on the verge of spilling with happiness caused by the news of an added bonus! He is filled with gratitude
"Khushi, thank you." His gratitude was heart-felt.
"The sweetest of all sounds is that of the voice of the woman we love" ~ Jean de la Bruyere
"The effort was all yours.", Khushi chuckled, wiping her tears away. "I just had a lovely time...", she kissed his chin. "...being pampered...", she kissed his cheek, "...being kissed...", she kissed his ear, "...being loved..."
"What love we've given, we'll have forever. What love we fail to give, will be lost for all eternity"
~ Leo Buscaglia
Arnav Singh Raizada is unable to digest the fact that, he could be the recipient of so much happiness, he could be so fortunate as to receive it. He asks his wife whether a person dies of happiness which receives a laughing retort as to they themselves would find it out.
"Remember today... for it is the beginning of always" ~ Dante Alighieri
Today it's a prelude to happiness of realizing that we two would become we three, hamesha, hamesha ke liye.
Answering his anxious querry on her health Kushi tells him that she felt fatigue, nauseous and sleepy and was in the kitchen to brew tea for herself when Aarti found her exhausted. With Aarti's help she reached her room and rested. Meanwhile once the ceremony was over, Aarti brought Payal who got the tests done. Aarti got not one but three to rule out any defective kit and the test turned positive in all the three! When He asked why didn't she tell him, she said she herself was unaware of it and had put it as the strain due to wedding preparations! She further relieved his mind saying that the family was not aware of it as she had yawned in front of them and mami had ribbed her that Arnav had kept her awake the previous night. This evokes a quick retort that mamiji doesn't know the reality!
"One of the things that binds us as a family is a shared sense of humor" ~ Ralph Fiennes
Both talk to the baby in the womb and introduce the other through the eyes they see with.
"Only love can be divided endlessly and still not diminish" ~ Anne Morrow Lindbergh
They share their love with their unborn child. For they know it'll be the most cherished and loved child.
Arnav Singh Raizada, later goes in search of Payal and Aarti. With Buaji's permission to meet Payal alone, he asks Aarti, who had been held back by Payal from leaving, too to stay. He thanks them for their timely assistance and care of his Kushi and says he is forever indebted to them and to let him know if there was anything that they required. He continues to say that, he wishes to keep this news under the wings until after the marriage as he doesn't want the attention to be taken away from the Bride and the Groom on Their Day. Akash and Payal too are on the dawn of a new life together. Payal assures him that both she and Aarti will see that Kushi will enjoy the festivities without any strain.
But to Aarti who has come across Arnav Singh Raizada for the first time, finds his statement arrogant. She who is used to being the decision maker finds it difficult to gulp it. In her contrariness, she thinks who would want to announce the news to the world. She takes it in the personal sense! She wonders whether this was the normal behavior of new father's and brother's! She doesn't have a clue on this matter!
"In the beginning, people think vulnerability will make you weak, but it does the opposite. It shows you're strong enough to care" ~ Victoria Pratt
She thinks that Arnav Singh Raizada is vulnerable towards his family. But in reality it is his strength. In fact what she thinks about him is the reflection of herself. That is why, she rushes out of Omkar to get to her amma, her world.
"Running away will never make you free"
She fears for the change that is coming over her, her emotions, her thoughts and the state of her mind. This alarms her as she has begun to like it!
"What is needed, rather than running away or controlling or suppressing or any other resistance, is understanding fear; that means, watch it, learn about it, come directly into contact with it. We are to learn about fear, not how to escape from it"
~ Jiddu Krishnamurti
Once she reaches her home she goes to her mother, her sanctuary.
"Running away was easy; not knowing what to do next was the hard part"
~ Glenda Millard, A Small Free Kiss in the Dark
She opens the gift given by Kushi, in front of her mother. It contained an expensive red saree with gold work! Her mother recognizes it and is elated. It took her down the memory lane.
"Banarsi silk saree!", Kamla Mishra's face lit up.
Aarti looked at the animation on her mother's face with wide eyes and a glad heart. She then looked at the silk with wonder. Her first sari.
"Look at the gold work! The red silk! Your grandfather gave me a Banarsi silk saree for my wedding!" Her face lost its cheer as the ghost of Mohan Mishra entered the room.
Aarti said, "Acha? Which colour was it?"
"Brick red." Kamla Mishra mumbled.
"Was the design the same one?"
"No, it was the mango design.", Kamla Mishra sighed.
Later Aarti draped herself in the saree and found that it looked good on her. She kept it back in the box folding neatly. Opening the cupboard she placed it along with her meager rationing of clothes that her father had deemed fit for her.
In the entire space, hung 2 shirts and 2 pairs of trousers. One black, and the other brown. One set of underclothes and 2 sets of kurta pyjamas were folded neatly and kept to the side. This was her yearly ration of clothes that her father had dictated. He had been dead 4 months, after being laid up for 2 months. But habit had forced her to continue with the 2 sets.
"One of the most beautiful gifts in the world is the gift of encouragement. When someone encourages you, that person helps you over a threshold you might otherwise never have crossed on your own" ~ John O'Donohue
This gift of Kushi made her feel the contrast of her life with what she saw.
"The teacher who is indeed wise does not bid you to enter the house of his wisdom but rather leads you to the threshold of your mind" ~ Khalil Gibran
Kushi being Kushi, is gently guiding her towards what it could be for her
"The past is but the past of a beginning" ~ H. G. Wells
In order to overcome her bitter past not just for herself but also for the sake of her mother she has to understand that
"Every day is a new beginning. Treat it that way. Stay away from what might have been, and look at what can be" ~ Marsha Petrie Sue
Aarti too is on the threshold of making choice in life. The result of it is bound to reverberate in the life of Her Sunflower, Nanda Kishore!
Arnav Singh Raizada and his wife Kushi are at the starting point of parenthood and are looking forward to it.
Akash Singh Raizada is on the verge of commencement of a new life with Payal.
Nanda Kishore is on the edge of being the recipient of the decision that Aarti would take that'll change the course of their life.
This is the prelude to the changes to occur in the lives of the three Raizada brothers.
That is why this part can be sumed up as THRESHOLD.
PICK OF THE DAY
Arnav made her lie down in bed, and bent downto place his lips against her stomach. "The world thinks your mother is a lamb. But she is a tigress in real." His voice was so soft and loving that Khushi had to blink to clear her eyes.
"The world thinks your father is khadoos and akhdoo. But he is a soft-hearted darling in real.", she countered.
Arnav looked at her, his heart in his eyes.
"And he loves both of us very much.", she completed, her voice dripping honey, looking straight into his eyes.
Here both Arnav Singh Raizada and his wife Kushi, who have a murky past are on the threshold of welcoming a bright future.
"I like the dreams of the future better than the history of the past" ~ Thomas Jefferson
Its reveals their anticipation to share all their love, hope and affection with their bundle of Joy
That's it for today. Hope you like it.
