Chapter4.

She found herself feeling vulnerable like few times whenever he left her early in the morning, she didn't know when it comes to an end, she wanted to be with him every moment, she wanted him close to her all the time'she wanted him to be part of her life but it wasn't possible and why it wasn't possible? She herself didn't know the answer. Every night they would sleep together, she used to feel his arms around her holding her, clinging to him possessively, making love to her so passionately like he never made before but when dawn comes'the same emptiness 'the same loneliness came to delved into her heart. She took a long breath before slinging her bare legs on the one side of bed, wrapped the sheet around her naked body and went up to washroom to take a shower. She selected her clothes for the day, slipped into them. Just as she was getting her hair up, there was a knock at her door. A smile suppressed her lips.

"May be today he has changed his mind, he won't go today" her whispered erupted her lips and she rushed to open the door but when the door squeaked open 'it wasn't him.

"Are you expecting someone else?"A soft, friendly, feminine voice brought her back to her trance and she startled, "hmm'no'Dia come inside"

"Thank God I thought you wouldn't ask me to come inside" She chuckled and Khushi turned around the closing door behind her. "As if I wouldn't call you didn't come inside?"Khushi chuckled back lifting her brows at her. "Ma'am I'm your one and only friend from your childhood days and I've full right to enter in your house even without your permission" She replied firmly looking back at her and Khushi smiled in return but Dia had seen tears shimmered in her eyes she knew Khushi couldn't forget those days of her life'her childhood days'she could still remember the day when she saw her first-- a man had brought her in an orphanage though she was herself a child but could've seen the emptiness in Khushi's eyes, those deep black hollow eyes, sitting alone at the one of the bench of the garden, crying hysterically and then she went closer to her and wiped off her tears'she still couldn't forget those eyes'those teary eyes.

"Didn't you get a new job?"Khushi inquired and keeping her jacket on the table she tilted to lift her lashes, "no'I've submitted my cvs in few companies, let's see what happen?"She drew a deep breath and Khushi placed her hand on her shoulder in assurance, "I'm sure you'll get a good job very soon" Dia smiled keeping her hand on her. "Hopefully."

"Will you have something?"Khushi asked stepping towards the kitchen and Dia replied keeping her bag on the table, "yes, I want a cup of coffee".

She drew a deep breath and then sank down herself onto the bed but as she grabbed the pillow something fell on the floor, she bent down to pick it up, "condoms pack" she let out a gasp of shock. Something pinched her heart and she couldn't hear what Khushi saying from the kitchen. Khushi has physical relation with someone Her breath stuck in her throat. She tried to stand on her heels but feeling too weak to stand she kept her hand on the wall for support.

"Ma'am here is your coffee and some snac-----"Khushi came out from the kitchen holding a tray, her words faded somewhere in her mouth as her eyes fell on Dia's hand and the expressions on her face enough to tell her she was shocked--hurt.

"Who is he? How many times you slept together?

Khushi gasped for air she felt as the words stuck in her throat and someone had snatched her breath for a moment, Dia sank down into the chair by her bed and stared at her. "Do you have an idea what're you doing? What if you get pregnant? Did he commit to you?"Dia yelled and then gasped to stable her breath.

"I trust him he won't leave me ever" Khushi replied firmly holding her breath trying to remove the uncertain, blurry image of their relationship and Dia regarded her intently. "And what's the proof? Is he going to marry you?"

Khushi lifted her gaze up, blank; empty. She didn't know the answer herself how could she tell her. Just thinking about it made her stomach ache and she took several breaths before meeting her eyes with her."I don't want to talk about it further" She twitched her lips and stood on her heels avoiding the scanning gaze of Dia but before she could get escaped Dia held her by her shoulders and turned her towards her, "but I want to talk about it? Why didn't you tell me about him?why didn't you tell me what's happening in your life? i never thought you would hide such a big thing from me. You know what you're doing with yourself'what do you think about him? Do you know where he lives? Do you know what he does?"

"I don't want to know anything about him as I trust him'I know he won't leave me ever'I know.'I know him'I know him how much he wants me in his life'yes I've given him everything because i know he never hurt me and Who are you talking about him like this? It's my personal matter and I know what I'm doing'I know what's right and wrong for me, you no need to be worried about me"

She jerked off her hands from her shoulders pushing her back, her cheeks flushed with anger, her eyes lit with the frustration. Dia let out the gasp of shock and Khushi gasped meeting with her hurt- tear filled gaze. The damaged had been done and before she could do something to amend the things, taking her bag Dia had been reached at the doorway. With her hand on the knob, she turned back and regarded her concernedly.

" Khushi You're throwing yourself into a well and I can't see it"

She stood there silent, motionless as saw her disappearing from there. Her chest felt tight and she kept her hand on the bed edge to stable her weak knees, she sat but as she placed her head on her knees bowing down it she couldn't keep her emotions back and let her tears to flow, let them wetted her cheeks.

The sun had been disappeared and the night had been come again prevailing the darkness around.

Someone tapped the door and she knew who was on the other side of the door, she felt a stab of hurt remembering Dia's words. Her heart squeezed slightly, holding her tears she stood on her heel stepping towards the door.

"Why did you take too much time to open the door?"As usual he had drawn her in his arms locking the door behind him and whispered huskily but today she didn't lift up her eyes giving him welcoming smile and something pricked in her to see he didn't even notice that. He didn't notice her puffy eyes, her dull face when he bent to kiss her lips.
