It had to be you
He searched her all main roads, every known places, every possible place where he thought he could find her but she had been vanished like figment of some memories. He returned back home with the heavy weight on his heart and negative thoughts roaming in his mind.
"This is ridiculous," Mayank groaned angrily as he sank onto the bed and held his face under his palm, "where she has gone? How can she leave me like this? How can she disappear in the city where she knows no one?He cried and then again stood on his heels pacing restlessly.
"What if something happens to her??
No---she would be safe. A shaky murmured escaped his lips and his heart thud with the fright. He wiped his eyes, which had teared-up from recalling every moment of their togetherness, "why Nupur you did this to me When I promised of my faithfulness to you'why you didn't trust me? Why you left me without saying something---without telling me'you were a liar---you always claimed you care for me---you need me in your life---you want me in your life'you were a liar and I believed you'I believed, you care for me'I believed, you respect my decisions'you care for my dreams---I was wrong"
Mayank reached the edge of the carpet, turned on his heels and sucked in a sharp breath trying to calm his scattered thoughts, and then he continued to pace, trying to figure out how he could find Nupur rather than why she was gone but there wasn't any place left where he could've found her, pacing few more minutes struggling to gather his thoughts and trying to remember of any relative, any friend she mentioned ever to him but he couldn't have remembered.
He dropped on his heels and took a deep breath, he was scared for her, angry with her, wanted to know where she was? He wanted her to come back to him; so many emotions were rushing in his veins that he was unable to consider which was stronger than the other.
"Why Nupur? why you left me ?Where I should find you---you didn't leave any sign of you'it is what you wanted?
He laughed out angrily.
"It is what you have always wanted? You lied to me that you care for me---when I didn't bow my head in front of your demands'I denied breaking my dreams you left me---you are selfish'you are liar---you don't care for me---you didn't want me in your life"
A groan of anger erupted his lips and he cried, a wave of anger rushed into his veins as he told himself it isn't his fault. He offered her everything he has to give and she is the one who has walked away without even bothering to tell him---without even bothering to care how much it would hurt him when she knew he couldn't live without her.
"I've given her enough but she didn't care for me---she didn't think about me before taking such a big step"
He wiped sweat from his face and then breathed"if it was her decision, so be it' she even didn't bother to tell me and left me" he bit his words and then bitterly vowed "if you want this so be it'I won't come for you'I won't beg in front of you'you're free to choose best for you"
He took an unsteady breath holding his face in his palm, his silence thought again pushed him towards her, warily, and he weighed the depth of his emotions for her and came to a firm decision though it wasn't possible to remove those feelings that had been rooted in his heart for her but he wouldn't beg in front of her. Never'Let her come back to him'Let her make realize she is nothing without him'she needed him'she wanted him in his life desperately.

She chewed the last bite of her sandwich and gulping another sip of juice she kept back the glass giving a brief look at Diya and then thinking something turned back her attention towards her meal but Diya who was noticing the changing expressions of her face didn't give up to her silence and spoke gently, "Nupur do you want to say something?"
Discovering her hesitation she gently kept her hand on her shoulder, Nupur looked up finally
"yes'I want to say something to you"
Her voice was low but strong, "I want to find a job for me and I need your help"
"Aren't you happy here or did I do something wrong?"Diya looked at her and asked with concern, Nupur felt guilty to taking out this matter so soon but she didn't want to be a burden on anyone, she knew she had now responsibility of another life with her,she had another life in her and she didn't want anyone to feel pity on her unborn baby.
She turned fully and taking Diya's hand pressed them gently, "you didn't do anything wrong'you can't do anything wrong'you are like an angel in my life'you're my true and only friend. Whatever you are doing for me I can't forget it ever'I won't forget in my whole life'But I want to stand on my own feet not only for myself but for my baby" tears shimmered in her eyes she sucked and then pulling her hand kept on her womb caressing her lovingly "I don't want anyone to feel pity on my baby as he has his mother who will do everything for him'my baby will get every happiness of the world"
A tear trickled which she removed quickly with the back of her palm and taking a deep breath stare back at Diya, "I can stay here for a few days as a guest but don't want to become another burden in your life"
"you aren't burden Nupur---you are like a sister to me"
"I know" Nupur felt momentary guilt to feel the edge of hurt in Diya's voice and she firmed her grip around her hands, "I know but'please try to understand me'I can't live here like a permanent guest 'I need a job to stand on my own feet'please don't take me wrong"
Diya gasped and then touched her fingers with hers, "I'm always with you Nupur if you want this so be it and I'll do my best to find a suitable job for you"
She smiled encouraging her and Nupur smiled back pushing back the memories of those dreams which she had seen for their future together.

Mayank sipped the last drop of his drink and laughed in a terrifying way realizing his helplessness, he took another bottle and filled the other glass, the warmth of the wine momentarily relaxed every nerve, every limb but couldn't less his pain, Halting, he stood with clenched fists and grinding teeth, "Nupur"A whisper escaped his lips and he closed his eyes for a moment trying to shy away her image from his memories but couldn't. Still gripped in panic, he forced himself to steady and then took steps towards the exit door of the night parlor.

In the morning as he dozed in bed, he came out of deep slumber with the sudden pounding on the door. Mayank ignored the sound burrowed deeper into his covers, but the sound increased and in irritation he pulled a pillow over his head but it didn't even work as it didn't block out the deep, familiar voice clearly audible from the other side of the door.Mayank pushed the covers and slid his one leg out of bed and then roamed his eyes around to take a look for his clothes, he grabbed his shirt from the table and then slipped in it hastily, taking long strides towards the door ,he flipped the lock. As he opened the door, he wished he could've escaped as Riya was the last person on the earth he wanted to meet.
Riya was standing on the other side of the door, her eyes gleamed with familiar desires, He ignored her look and smiled casually at her, "I wasn't expecting you"
She knitted her brows in confusion and stared back at him, "did I disturb you?".
Mayank caught the edge of rudeness in his tone and cursed his bad mood for his behavior, "No'not at all'please come in"
He moved aside smiling at her direction giving her way and she sighed with the smile and stepped in the house. As she gazed around in the house, she noticed the dirty dishes on the table, the dusty tabletops, scattered clothes on the floor and then couldn't hide her curiosity to ask about that girl whom she met the last time when she visited his house..
"I though your friend still live here"
Mayank turned closing the door and eyed her at her quite stiff voice. She immediately bit her lower lip realizing she just showed her jealousy for that girl. Mayank gulped the panic as Nupur's thoughts came back into his mind but then took a deep breath stabling his composure trying to hide his longing for her; he noticed the direction of Diya's gaze and realized why did she ask that question? Nupur had not only left his house but left him alone he thought and turned his gaze at her.
"She doesn't live here"
He replied plainly as he didn't want to convey through his words what she meant to him.
"Oh!"
Riya could hardly repress her content smile, so there wasn't need to fear of her as she was nothing but a friend of him---just friend as if she would've more to him she never left him. She smiled inwardly and then took steps boldly towards him.
Mayank looked surprised at her boldness when she raised her arm pressed them against his chest, he thought to push her away but gave away the idea as he didn't want to hurt her after knowing her feeling for him. She lifted her lashes and look through his eyes.
"I love you Mayank"
She had been confessed her feelings many times to him and he never felt anything in his heart after hearing those words from her lips'they never had affected him. He didn't reply as usual and she felt a twinge of hurt but covered it with her smile looking in his eyes for some hope.
"Give us a chance Mayank'I'll give you all the happiness that you deserve"
He was quiet, Riya hesitant but sensing no protest from his side she let her arms crawled around his neck and threw herself at him.
"I can't live without you please don't push me away this time"
He stiffens at her plea but didn't feel even a twinge of emotions in his heart for this girl he felt like this place he had been given to someone else.he tried to ask this question to himself and when he closed his eyes Nupur's face roamed in his thoughts.
