***Part 11***

Virat: "She is bubbly, and vivacious, and full of life and energy. She talks non-stop like a parrot and her chatter heals wounds; she enjoys life as if there is no tomorrow. Her laugh; it is so sexy and addictive; she makes not just herself but everyone around her feel happy and good about themselves. She shares the smallest of the smallest joys in her life with people she barely knows but, carries the most unpleasant experiences and problems that she encounters all by herself. While on one hand, she is a strong woman who knows what she wants from life; on the other hand, she is, omg! the most beautiful and sexy woman I know. Her every expression makes me crazy, her every look teases me. Her eyes speak to me what words can never convey: I see my future in her sparkly bright eyes bhai. She introduced me to feelings I never knew about. I am falling for her bhai! She is the most amazing girl and I have ever known and I am madly in love with her. Her whole life was directed by the 'love' of the parents she barely got and the 'pain and hurt' that she had learnt to successfully outrun bhai; I want to change all that, I want to be with her and I feel that protecting her and caring for her is the goal of my life. " he said with stars in his eyes. He voice has never been so lively and he has never been so excited about anything in his life.

It was Viren and Jeevikas wedding today, the last ten days passed like a breeze. After the unfortunate incident at the shopping center, Virat was worried for Manvi. He wanted to comfort her, make her smile and rescue her of all the misery. But to his utter astonishment, Manvi acted as if nothing ever happened. She continued to be her old self and she never talked about it again. When Virat tried to talk about it, she just brushed it off as 'a random thing' asking 'him' to not worry too much. She liked hanging out with him now, she would just come and sit in his room for hours, not worrying about what people would think; teasing him and irritating him was her favorite pass-time. They danced together in the sangeet and everyone around enjoy their silly noks-jhoks as non-stop live entertainment. He knew she liked him too but he needed her to say it out in words.

Viren could not stop smiling at his silly brother : "wah..wah mere majnu!!!...par kisse karta hai tu itna pyaar???"

Virat: "I cannot tell it to you now bhai, I need to tell her first." Saying he hugged his brother and left. Viren had already guessed who it is and was very happy that his brother had finally chosen a nice girl for himself.

He came downstairs and he was scanning the entire room for her. Then it hit him that she probably must be with Jeevika, as she is her unofficial maid of honor. So he patiently waited for her to show up.

"Hello Virat, nice to see you after a long time" said Maya, who just walked in with his boy-friend Ankit. Now Maya was Virat's ex-girl friend and Ankit was Virat ex-best friend. They belonged to the painful past that Virat hoped could be erased from his memory permanently. Maya was the daughter of Swamini's best friend and so was invited to the wedding

"Hello Virat, buddy, how ru doing??" Ankit also asked

"Kaise hoga? Maine suna hai ki tum hamare break-up ke baad belkul toot gaye ho..drugs bhi lene lage ho. Sorry Virat, didn't know your life would derail like this. But, when you are in true love, it is impossible to stay away from that person. That is what happened with me and Ankit. Waise, whatever is the deal with your career is, you are very good-looking guy virat and very rich too. You can get another girl soon. Apne friends ka number de sakthi hu tum ko, if you wish" Maya said with a sting.

"Ohh please, tum jaisi ek aur???" Manvi retorted coming in, standing beside Virat, holding his arm in hers. Maya looked at Virat who was lost looking at Manvi mesmerized; she was wearing a pink designer lehenga choli with a golden border and a small blouse. She had her hair in a long plait and adorned it with golden clips and she was looking like a traditional Punjabi kudi. She gave Maya a very dirty look and suggested "Kiseeke boy-friend ke sath setting karvani hai toh apne wale se karva lo naa..mere wale se dhooor raho…samji" she said, holding Virat's hand as if it was a trophy. She then dragged Virat from there, giving Maya a stronger dose of her own medicine.

Virat looked at her stunned at what she just said "meraaa wala??? not that I mind" he winked. "waise kithe soni lagri hai tu aaj…apne bf ko jabbi pappi dena toh banta hai" he teased her by extended his arms in front of her "hai ki nai??" he asked.

Manvi: "ohh plzzz I wanted to get her off you, that's why I told her that. Please abhi aasman par math chad jana.

Virat put both his hands on her shoulders: "accha..meri protective wali fake girl friend..waise bhi aaaj kal sab cheeez mein milawat hai..girl friend bhi fake aane laggaye..kalyug ka prabaaav!!" he said with a tongue in his cheek."

Manvi blew him off pushing both his hands off: "Stop flirting with me. Kisi aur ko dhoond lene is faltu wale dialogues sunne ke liye; I am going to get di….jiju bade behchaini se wait kar rahe hai." She left laughing at a tense Viren sitting in the mandap.

While the wedding ceremony was going on, Manvi was standing in the shadhi ka mandap showering flower petals on the bride and groom. She looked at Virat and warned him "Virat, muj par nahi, dulhe aur dulhan par dalo!!" The wedding ceremony went well and soon after it ended,

Virat literally dragged her out of the hall into the garden. "Virat, chodo mujhe, kaha le kar ja rahe ho tum??"

Virat: "mujhe tumse kuch important baat karne hai..chalo"

Manvi "Kya baaat karni hai..kya pakh raha hai tumhare shaitaaan dimaag main???"

Virat smiled, biting his lower lip and looked at her adoringly. They were lost in each other's eyes for a minute, communicating more than what words could ever express. He extended his hand to take hers in it and told her "Manvi, dikhne mein buri nahi ho tum, acchi khasi time pass bhi karlethi ho, so main soch raha tha ki…" before Virat could complete, Manvi squeezed his hand and looked straight past Virat with dread in her eyes.

"Kya huva Manvi?" he turned to his back.

He saw a middle-aged couple coming towards them, the man had an evil leer on his face and he was looking at Manvi, "Kaise ho beta?? Don't you remember me?? I used to take care of you and your dad after your mom passed away?? Yaad nahi aaya?? Mama, teri ma ka bhai hu; aur yeh tumhari mami, khana banathi thi tumhare liye" he moved his hand up as if to pet her cheek as Manvi shuddered and moved backwards.

Virat looked at her frightened like a small kid who saw a monster and understood who he was the next second. He caught his hand before he could touch her and twisted it so hard that it made him shriek like a mouse "agar zinda rehna chahthe ho toh chup chap wapas chale jao, ek aur nazar iss pe padi toh kisike dekhne layak nahi rahoge." His eyes were fuming red and his voice was so powerful; he even scared Manvi.

He put his hand over Manvi's shoulders and was taking her inside to her room when Madan chachu came running and said to Manvi. "Beta, tum andar jao kuch der ke liye"

Manvi just looked at him with a blank expression. Madan Chachu was also scared for her.

"Jao beta, isse yaha se leke jao" Chachu told Virat as he understood the satan had already made his appearance before her.

Inside, Manvi was still not able to believe whom she just saw.She was sitting on the bed next to Virat: "I never wanted to see him again ever in my life. After my dad passed away, Kiran mama became my legal guardian as he was my mom's brother, my only living blood relative apart from my grandfather who disowned us. Madan Chachu used to visit me regularly and one of those days, he caught Kiran mama red-handed. He threatened to send him to jail unless he handed over my guardianship to him; he is the only one who knows about all this. He took me far away from him and raised me as his own daughter and I haven't seen the devil ever since..until today." informed Manvi.

"How did u know that it was him?? She asked Virat, very puzzled.

He put his hand over Manvi's hands which were still tightly holding him and wiped the tears on her cheek: "I have never seen you so scared" he replied quietly still trying to get his temper down. "If it was not bhai's shadi today, he would have been in serious physical danger."

Manvi: "Why Virat, why do you get so angry when you see me like this?" she came close to him, and rested her head on his shoulders.

Virat let out a small smile and wanted to answer that honestly but after what had happened he decided to post-pone it to another time. "…meri fake wali ke liye itna toh kar satka hoon..hain na?" he replied as she looked at him adoringly now.

The next day, was reception and after that, Viren and Jeevika were going to honeymoon and Virat and Manvi along with others were heading back to New York. Virat kept a watch out for Manvi 's evil of a mama the like a hawk until they got on the plane. Relaxing a little after they took off, he thought about the new lease of life god gave him as he looked at Manvi sitting beside him and holding his hand as that was the natural thing to do. He wanted to finish his studies and work-out a good career for himself as he though Manvi deserved nothing but the 'best'

Aww i am feeling sad for maanvi and the way you explained how she opened up to viraat and then broke down only to be comforted by him was just too cute.
