PART 23

Sujal drove his BMW endlessly not knowing where. He's been driving 4 the past one hour not wanting to go home. He was so occupied with his thoughts that some times he passed thru some red lights. Well it was his luck that it was night and there wasn't much traffic. He knew that if he drove anymore he would end up causing an accident. But he couldn't go home either. Not in this state. His mother would instantly get suspicious that some thing was wrong. And he knew she wouldn't leave him alone until she spits it all out from him. Right now that's not what he wanted. He wanted to be alone. He started looking on his both sides 4 a restaurant that's open all night. And luckily with in few minutes he found one. He parked his car and walked inside. To his luck there weren't any other customers. He ordered a coke and found a corner place. He seated himself near the window occasionally sipping his coke and watched the almost empty road. Things are not going to be great as he expected it to be and that call was just the beginning. As soon as he closed his eyes and relaxed back. His thoughts went back to the call he got. 'This can't happen again. I can't put my life at risk again. I came this close to losing it. Only god knows how I survived it. I'm not going to let it happen again. I put a lot of people's happiness at risk and I'm not doing that again. But… but why would he lie to me. May be he was just pulling a prank. I don't now. I should go and meet him." Sujal then got up took his car out from the parking lot. On his hurry, he didn't know how many laws he broke because he got to his destination in half an hour which was supposed be a 1 hour drive.

Next morning

"You should start working on this project today itself because it's going to take up most of ur time and u don't want to leave it till the last minute and u are also working in pairs. So that's it 4 today and we will continue tomorrow." Saying this professor shut his mike. Kashish who wasn't paying attention a bit didn't know that the class was over. She was still starting at the board trying to convince the prof that the she was still listening to what ever he was saying. "Miss Sinha the class is over. U can go unless u wanna sit here and stare at the chair." The prof voice brought her back realizing that the professor had caught her staring here and there.

Prof: what happened Miss Sinha? U weren't throwing any complicated questions today. I guess u weren't paying attention at all. U r not like that. Everything ok.

Kash: uhmmm I…. I'm fine sir. And I was paying attention it's just that I didn't have any doubts about today's lesson.

Prof: (slightly laughs) of course u didn't have any doubts because I didn't do any lecture today. I was just going thru the details of the project which u have to complete by the end of this course.

Kashish realized that the professor had caught her red handed. She didn't know what to do as her face clearly showed that she was embarrassed.

Prof: it's ok Miss Sinha. Things like this happen. But u may wanna ask ur friends abt the project details because u don't wanna fail this class.

Kash: I will sir and I'm sorry sir.

Prof: oh that's ok but don't make this a habit. U r a hard working student. U shouldn't waste it. Ok bye I'll see u tomorrow.

He walked away carrying his notes leaving Kashish alone. She sat there 4 a while trying to understand what happened to her all of a sudden. Pushing her thoughts away she gathered all her stuff leaving the room and walked to the Star bucks. She ordered a coffee and walked towards one of the corner table which had a view of the beautiful garden. Her next class was 3 hrs later. She thought about going back to her residence and gets some sleep before she attends the next class considering the fact that she stayed awake the whole night yesterday. The event that happened at the beach and Sujal's silent treatment had completely taken over her mind causing her not to sleep or concentrate in the class at all. She knew even though she tried to take a nap she wouldn't be able to. She sipped her coffee as she thought about last nights events. She didn't know why but she was feeling different ever since her close proximity with Sujal. She could never forget that look in his face, something she had never seen before. She knew he is her close friend. But was that all it was between them? What if he too felt the same thing she did? Maybe he doesn't. That's why he was so desperate to drop her at her home asap. That's why he was upset because he felt he made a mistake. She didn't see him the whole day. Priya said that he went out of town for some work. But he could've at least told her. But he didn't. he didn't call her yet. What would she do if he comes and tell her that he made a mistake? 'oh god' she wanted to cry or may be she's making a big deal out of nothing. It's not like anything serious happened between them that they should be ashamed of. But it was a big deal to her because she never let a guy come close to her like he did yesterday. She never let anyone hold her like him. Nobody made her shiver just by their look like he did. 'I'm going crazy. Why can't I just let it go? It was probably nothing 4 him. May be he didn't feel anything. He does that to every girl he meets. He was just joking with her. Why can't she take it as a joke?'
