A week later...
Taani and Sharon became best friends. The Dazzlers however didn't get another chance to rag them. Everyone got a little busy. Taani joined a driving school. Her driving test was coming up so she got up every morning to practice.
In Taani's house
'Beep Beep' Taani's alarm rang early morning.
She got up and looked at the clock. 5 am. She didn't want to get out of the bed, but she had to for the sake of getting he license. She got up and dragged herself to the bathroom.
After getting dressed into a casual jeans and top, she went down, got into the car, and started driving to a nearby park.
In the Singhania Household
'Rrring Rrriiing' the alarm went off at 5 am. It kept ringing for sometime. Then from under the blanket on the bed beside which the clock was kept, a hand came out desperately searching for something. When it couldn't find what it was looking for, someone got up and took it.
"Uff hoo" said Swayam " this Rey! he can't go by himself or what?"
Suddenly, the door opened, and Rey came in.
"Hey swayam!" said Rey "wake up bro. You said you'd come joging right?"
Swayam groaned and fell back on the bed.
"Not today" He said
"Why not?" Asked Rey
"See Rey, you know the reason I had agreed to come jogging with you" said swayam "You said we'd meet girls. I came with you for one whole week, and I haven't seen one girl worth looking at"
Oh god! thought Rey I told it so that I could get him to come jogging with me. Now what do I do?
But he said "See swayam...Actually..I think we will meet one today...I feel it. Come on let's go see"
"No!" said Swayam "That's what you say everyday. I'm not not coming today. It's my final verdict"
Rey tried a few more times to get swayam to come, but he was strong on his decision.
"Ok don't come" said Rey "Oh god swayam.you'll never learn. I don't think I've met a lazier person in my life. Wh-"
He was interrupted by swayam.
"There it is" said Swayam pointing to a tape recorder.
"What?" asked Rey
"The tape recorder my dear brother" said Swayam "I'm not coming for jogging because I want to sleep, and you are blabbering on and on. How will I sleep Rey? You record whatever you want to say and I will listen to it after I get up. Ok?"
He covered himself with the blanket again.
Rey looked at Swayam, shook his head, and started going towards the park.
After jogging for sometime, he stopped to drink water. Suddenly he went bump at the knees, stumbling at the unexpected impact. He sat stunned on the road, recovering from the shock and then turned around.
A red Maruti car was the culprit! He tried to see who the driver was through the windscreen.
"I am so-so sorry" a female voice announced. A young girl stepped out and ran towards him.
"I am so sorry. Are you okay?" she asked tucking her hair behind an ear.
"Yeah, I guess" said Rey flexing his palms.
"Can I give you a lift?" she asked nervously, extending her hand to help him up.
"I was actually jogging" said Rey holding her hand and getting up as slowly as he could without it being obvious.
Who am I to abandon a pretty girl's hand? He thought. But he had to leave her hand after getting up.
"Hi I'm Taani by the way. Listen I'm really sorry" she said adjusting her hair again.
"Hi I'm Reyaansh. Still alive, so it's ok" he said grinning.
"Yeah...you see, I'm learning to drive" Taani said pointing to the 'L' sign on her car's windshield.
Rey wasn't actually hurt or anything as she was driving at like, two km an hour or something. Still he wanted to use the chance.
"You sure you don't need a lift? I feel really bad" said Taani
"Actually, I am sort of tempted to get a ride back" said Rey
"Sure. Please come in" she said and chuckled "If you trust my driving, that is"
They got into the car. Rey saw Taani sit carefully in the driver's seat as if she was running the starship enterprise or something. Then she placed her foot on the accelerator.
"So Reyaansh...You study in St Louis right?" said Taani
"Yea" said Rey "How did you know?"
"Well ever since I've joined the college, yours is one of the very few names that I've heard a lot...especially from the girls" said Taani.
Rey smiled and looked at Taani Damn she's beautiful. He thought, but his thought was interrupted by Taani.
"You and your brother are quite famous aren't you?" said Taani
"Well...uh...I guess so" said Rey
Taani apologized again when they reached Rey's house and asked if she could do anything for him.
"Actually, there is one thing" said Rey grinning
"What?" asked Taani
"Friends?" Rey said
Taani laughed "Of course friends" she said
"So then...see you in college?"
"Ya" said Taani
They said bye to each other and Taani drove off.
Swayam had seen the whole situation from the window.
Rey came inside, thinking about Taani and smiling, to find Swayam standing in front, with his arms crossed, tapping a foot.
Rey looked at him and said "What?"
"Hmmm" said Swayam "jogging huh? I never knew you could jog in cars"
"Oh that" said Rey and explained everything to swayam, who started asking him questions about her like how she looked, what she wore etc.
In the end he said "The one time I don't come with you, you end up meeting a female. Not fair"
Rey chuckled "Maybe you are not lucky" he said "wait a minute...I think you are not so lucky for me either,don't come with me tomorrow onwards"
He started moving away from Swayam.
"Rey!" said swayam,and taking a cusion with him, started chasing Rey all over the house...
