That was one wonderful update Shikha why on earth were you beating yourself up about it!
Infact every chapter of this story has something adorable in it. You are portraying Arshi like a dream couple here, if only we could see some of this on the actual show it would have been awesome! Can't wait to read the next update! :)
"Pah! Pah!"
He looked up from his plants to see his daughter crawling towards him on all fours. Chuckling, Arnav put the watering can down to go pick her up.
"You little shaitaan!" he cooed at his baby who was soon going to turn one. "Woke up without making any noise today, huh?"
She beamed at him gleefully before smacking her hand on his cheek. "Pah!"
"Haww! Kavni!" Khushi barged in with mock stupefaction. "Papa ko maara? He Devi Maiyya! Ma ke paas aiyye! Varna Laad Governor aapko khaa jayenge!" (...You hit your dad? HDM! Come to Ma! Or else Laad Governor will eat you up!)
She laughed seeing Arnav's expression. "Koyi baat nahin, Khushi," he answered nonchalantly. "Kavni machhar mar rahi thi varna Papa ko love-aria ho jaata, kyun Kavni?" (Kavni was killing a mosquito else Papa would have gotten love-aria, right, Kavni?)
He was speaking to his daughter, but his eyes were fixed on Khushi's face, causing a faint but cute blush appear on her cheeks as she pouted in embarrassment. Could they forget that day? He had brutalised her several times by gripping her arm or wrist too hard, leaving bruises had took ages to go. Well, he still did sometimes, although the reasons were not quite the same... But he had never, never raised his hand on her to hit her!
And what had this Sanka Devi done? Slapped him right in the face. He grinned at her, remembering how angry he had been. He could still feel the sting of her hand against his cheek. She had been trying to explain something about a mosquito she had been hunting but nothing had mattered right then. In that moment of fury, he had believed it was a pay-back and the mosquito story had been something made up and she was secretly laughing at him. Lucky for Khushi Kumaari Gupta, NK had come there in time...
And when later, she had come to beg to him to allow the sangeet for her sister, offering to let him slap her in return. She had turned away from him, her eyes shut with fear, and she had cringed when he had taken a step closer but still expected the slap. As if he would have done it. He could have, but he didn't want to. She wouldn't have stood the pain; he had a much larger and much stronger hand, after all.
"Arnavji!"
He snapped back to the present at her voice and blinked at her. "Huh?"
"Aap theek to hain?" (Are you okay?)
"Yeah, I'm fine," he nodded.

His arms encircled her waist the moment she had put Kavni in her crib which was still in their room after all these months and he pressed his lips against the crook of her neck. She was about to protest when she felt his teeth nibble teasingly at her skin, making her gasp sharply.
"Arnavji!" Khushi hissed, trying to escape. Her husband only held her tighter to him, moaning his displeasure at her attempts. "Arnavji koyi aajaayega..." (...someone will come...)
"Aane do," he whispered. (Let them.)
"Di bulaayeingi..." (Di will call us...)
"Bulaane do..." (Let her...)
"Amanji ka phone aajaayega..." (Amanji will phone you...)
"Aane do..." (Let him...)
"Kavni dekh legi..." (Kavni will see...)
"Dekh lene-" he froze and abruptly turned her around. "What the-?" (Let-...)
Khushi giggled, sliding her arms around his neck while he frowned down at her. "Lijiye! Humein ek aur tareeka mil gaya apni kitaab ke liye!" (There! I have another suggestion to put in my book!)
Arnav grinned at his crazy wife. "Romantic pal bigaadne ke sau tareeke? Yeah right, very funny." (A hundred ways to spoil a romantic moment?...)
"Lekin humaari baat sahi to hai!" she said, suddenly serious. "Hum isske baare mein ab soch rahe hain. Kavni dekh legi. Aapko zara si bhi sharam nahin aati?" (But I am right! Now that I'm thinking of it. Kavni will see us. Aren't you ashamed?)
He rolled his eyes, pulling her flush against him. "Really? Now? Ek saal baad? Anyway, she's sleeping, Khushi." (...After a year?...)
Before she could rebut, he locked his eyes with hers, rakishly glancing at her parted lips. Khushi blushed and shivered, feeling his burning gaze on her, and all of a sudden, her brain short-circuited, burning the fuse, and she could only close her eyes, feeling him lean in, while her heart thumped like a wild hummingbird.
"Wudda!"
They both jumped and looked at the crib where their daughter now lay awake, ogling at them. Groaning, Arnav fell his face in his wife's shoulder.
"Not again!"
Khushi giggled and reached out to tickle Kavni. "Laad Devi humaari hai bilkul Laad Governor jaisi. Aapne 'What the' bhi bolna seekh liya?" (My Laad Devi is just like Laad Governor. You have learnt how to say 'What the' already?)
