A Dark Love

Mayank gave uninterested glance to the files in his hands and then throwing them on the table gulped the lump rested his head at the back of chair'he wasn't feeling well, the last night conversation with Nupur still roaming in his mind'the emotions that was knocking the wall of his heart hard to shrug away.He inhaled breath closing his eyes tightly to remove her face from his eyes but was it possible? He shook slightly curling his lips into a sarcastic smile on himself'the flashes of past'the darkness of the past still haunting him'still pinching his heart like a sharp pin and he couldn't forget that if he wanted'those alone days in that dark room'those rage filled eyes and---his body shook as the memories came back in his mind to haunted him.

A strong hand clutched his arm roughly and dragged him towards the dark room and then threw him on the floor, "i'I won't---live---in this room'alone'its---so dark" a painful gasp erupted of his lips and he lifted his tear-streaked face looking at the woman with pleading eyes who had nothing in her eyes except hatred and rage and her face was curled with a evil grin, "your parents had been died son'you're an orphan now'there is no one who came to save you. You'll have to do what I want you to do'you've to stay in this room until the property papers get ready and then when my work would be finished I'll think about you"

She replied grimly pushing him away and again he fell on the floor and terror rushed into his veins though his fragile body couldn't have strength to fight back but his brain could sense that her evil plan as he looked up and the grin played on her lips.

"you'll soon learn to live in the darkness" She laughed out giving him a last pitiful glance and then turned on her heels taking a long stride towards the door, he ran and clutched her leg tightly looking around at the dark room, "pl'ease'aunty---don't leave me---alone---in this---dark room---I'm scared of ---darkness"

His childish shaky voice filled with great terror slipped from his lips and he let the tears flow from his eyes as the sound of her evil laugh fell into his ears.

She leaned and then clutching his small arm made him stand, "you'll have to live here or else I'll kill you if you try to disobey me or try to flew out" She threw him away but as she again turned to leave the room he again got up running towards her , "please aunty---I can't'live in this dark room'I'm scared of darkness'please'don't--"

His plea faded into his mouth as the sound of slap rang in the air 'he felt his face burned and with a great jerk he fell on the floor, "don't try to escape out"

He again stood on his heels rushed towards the door but before he could try to escape from this dark room the door had been closed and he looked around in darkness with blurry eyes, "please---aunty---I'm scared---I'm scared of darkness" A shriek filled the air.

"Please I'm-----"he felt shuddered as the words faded into his mouth, he opened his eyes and gulped of air to give oxygen to his lungs, realizing it was the flashes of the past that had returned back to haunting him, he took several of breathes wiping off the sweat from his face and then straitening he hid his face into his palm closing his eyes for a moment to get escape from those nightmares. Exhausted and tired, Mayank opened his eyes again swallowed audibly as he fought back the tears congealing in his eyes.

Slowly she sat up and put her legs over the side of the bed, then eased herself to her feet, she wasn't feeling well completely that was the reason she was feeling weak, afraid the dizziness would return she thought to freshen up and eat something to stable her composure.

When she'd opened her eyes in this morning she'd moved her glance towards the couch but he wasn't there. Today he'd left for office early in the morning without taking his breakfast she had realized stepping inside the kitchen. An awful lump of panic swelled in her chest and she gasped still the last night moments flashing in her eyes'he was in so much grief and she couldn't bear it'she couldn't see him in pain she'd been confessed to herself last night.

She gulped down the lump and came out of her trance of thoughts with the sudden attack of dizziness and she clutched the shelf for support scolding her she should eat something.

Though Mrs.Manish had taken the leave for one day but yesterday she'd informed again that she'd some urgent work and she couldn't return back and had demanded one day leave more and Nupur granted it.She lit the stove to make a coffee for her.

She poured the coffee into a mug and buttered the toast and placed them on the plate, she took strides towards the all taking the tray in her hand .She put the tray on the table and dragged the chair for her but she paused, the cup of coffee partway to her lips as something stopped her and the words erupted her lips, "don't know he has eaten something or not?"

She felt the pinch of pain swelled in her chest and as she pushed back the tray thinking she couldn't eat at the same time someone entered through the main door, She looked towards the door as her heart beat raised to recognize the sound of footsteps'it was He.. She knew. He was looking so tired'exhausted'lost somewhere.

As Mayank entered in the hall his eyes met with her'there was strong emotions in her eyes that he couldn't have ignored if he want------she was starring him with those deep eyes that was filled with concern'yes he confessed he could've seen concern in her eyes for him, the memory of her kiss, her touch effected the most sensitive part of his heart and he looked away taking long strides towards the room but as he walked passed her he stopped on his heels but didn't turn back his head as her low yet soft voice hit the walls of his ears and slowly penetrated.

"Mayank are you fine?"

He turned to look at her and the way she was gazing him he wished to pull her for hug and kiss her until they breathless'he gasped trying to collect his scattered thoughts and as he tried to parted his lips he felt words stuck at the wall of his throat., "yes---I'm" though he tried to make his voice stiffen but couldn't and replied in soft voice not meeting with her gaze and when again he turned towards the other side her voice had again stopped him and he felt froze, "I know you hadn't eat anything'eat something"

This time he'd met with her gaze and his heart had leaped to see something more in her eyes'it wasn't just concern but her eyes were twinkling with something more.

I don't know what shall I write about this update.. Beautiful or scary..
I've always wanted to know about Mayank's past, which has made him this arrogant.. But After reading this update, getting a glimpse of his dark past, I don't know if I'll be able to know more of it 😭
That poor soul was a kid, he was afraid of darkness.. How could that woman left him in that dark room and that too alone!! Mayank clutched her leg, begged not to leave him.. I couldn't held back my tears *sigh*
One question, who was that woman?? She's related to nupur, right?

i know it makes you all sad to read about what he went through , this past has made him like a stone...But love will melt it and will make it soften.

gosh sadest past but nice to see nupur concern for him...

it was sooo painful to read what Mayank went through
