PART 11- CLARITY
"Arnavji? Aap? Iska matlab hum bhi tara ban gaye!... Amma aur Babuji kaha hain? Aur Di? Di kaha hai?"
Arnav stared at Khushi; feeling both amused and confused. Stars? What was she talking about? He walked to her and clasped her hands. "Sab theek hai Khushi... Mai aa gaya..." He told her
She sat up. "AAP aa gaye? Aaye toh HUM aapke paas hai na?" Then she looked around, and said confusedly. "Arey, aasman toh kaala hona chahiyye! Yahan itni roshni kyun hai?"
"What the! What are you saying Khushi!" Arnav asked, thoroughly confused.
But Khushi was not listening. She was still looking around. "Arnavji, why does the sky look like a hospital?"
"Unbelievable!" Arnav muttered, and said aloud. "Khushi, WHY on EARTH would you be in the sky?"
"Hum-Hum toh taare ban gayye!"
"Taare...wha-" Arnav stopped, realizing what she meant, and he shuddered internally at the thought of that. Now her wanting to meet her Amma and Babuji made sense. He looked into her eyes, and said very slowly, and carefully, "Khushi, you are NOT a star...Y-You are alive!"
"B-But I had cut my wrists and I should have been-"
"Shh Khushi..." He said, putting a hand over her mouth. "It is alright!"
"Th-that can't be right! Y-YOu're not even scolding me!" Khushi complained. Arnav gave in. He hugged her and whispered into her ear, "I am sorry Khushi. For everything... I was blinded by anger and-and you were right. Maine wohi dekha, jo mai dekhna chahta tha.. I am so so sorry Khushi... I know I hurt you. I know words are not enough for what I have done to you..."
"Arnavji, I-"
"No Khushi. I will make it all upto you...and Khushi? I love you!" he said, and gave her a light kiss on the lips, and drew back, not breaking contact with her eyes. Khushi stared at him, her hand slowly moved to her lips. Her eyes had filled with tears.
"Hum zinda hai? Iska matlab aap bhi...?" Khushi began crying, and hugged Arnav tightly, weeping continuously. "I am sorry..."
"Why are you saying sorry Khushi?" Arnav asked, caressing her hair.
"Because-Because of those papers! I made you sign them and I-" she said, her voice breaking.
"It is okay Khushi... I will set things right...!" Then he realized something. "Khushi? Why were you expecting me and Di in your, uh... Taaron ki duniya?"
"Y-you won't believe me." She said. Arnav shook his head. "I will never EVER not believe you Khushi... I know about Shyam..."
"Wh-What? How? I told you but you had not believed me. then who else-"
ARnav cut her off. "I am sorry I did not believe you Khushi, but that is not the point... What did you mean by that?"
Khushi drew in a staggered breath, and choked out the words. "Shyamji told me that t-to get me, he-he had to get you and D-Di ou-out of the way..."
Arnav's blood boiled... THAT BLOODY SCOUNDREL!!!!!
"Arnavji, don't tell Di...She won't be able to-"
"No Khushi. It's ok...Di knows."
"WHAT?! But I thought- she was... the baby..." Arnav shushed her, but noticed with panic that her eyes had become unfocused and she had become limp in his arms. He yelled. "DOCTOR!!! DOCTOR!!!"
THe doctor came in rushing. "Hold on MR. Raizada." He checked her pulse and said, "It is okay Mr Raizada. This is normal... she's had an overdose of chloroform..."
At that moment, Arnav wanted to scream! That bas***d had doped his wife! After being warned not be within even a meter of her... But a soft, warm hand pressed his shoulder. "Nahi Chhotey...Ab nahi... Khushiji ki haalaat bahut nazuk hai..."
"Di, Shyam ne..."
"Hum jaantey hain Chhotey... But without proof, without explanations, we cannot just accuse him..."
"But Di... Kya aap janti thi woh meri aur aapki jaan lene waala tha? Kahan hai woh?"
"No I didn't know. But what is new about that! And he is talking to someone on the phone". Just then, Payal entered. Seeing Khushi, she was on the verge of tears. Arnav told her, "She is fine Payal." She nodded and sat by Khushi. Anjali and Arnav walked out of the ward, and sat on a chair outside. He put his head in her lap. "You were right Di. Today, I realized what my temper would have cost me." Anjali smiled."Its okay Chhotey. Atleast you realised. Better late than never." Arnav got up and asked "Di, what did you mean when you said it was not the first time?" After few moments of silence, she answered."He has tried to kill me before Chhotey."
"WHAT?! You did not think it important to tell me?" Anjali smiled strangely. "You were, uh, busy with your own life."
"Di! I am never too busy for you!" Anjali smirked. "Lets see..." she pretended to think. "Correct me if I am wrong, but you were too busy buying bangles for your Khushi and biting NK bhai's head off. And also interrogating Akash about love," she added mischievously. And to her delight, she saw her brother blush. "Akash told you?" Anjali laughed.
"So how are you planning to make it all up to her?" She asked lightly.
"I don't know Di." He admitted. Anjali rolled her eyes. "You are a husband now Chhotey! Awaken the romantic part in you!"
"But Di...Don't you think Shyam is more important an issue a now?"
Anjali sighed. "Dimag se nahi, dil se socho Chhotey..."
Arnav looked at her, and realized that what he had done was wrong, and decided to make up for it. "What do I do Di? I can't do this alone..."
Anjali was exasperated. "Okay fine!"
Okay Guys, hope I am not boring you! Next one or two parts will have the redemption track you all wanted... Little Rabba Ve's and stuff along with a plan to catch hold of Shyam... Reall sorry that I bored you... I know this update does not have much important stuff!!! But upcoming ones will hopefully be better...
