She could not believe what she saw. And that sent tingling sensations in her body. Taking another swig of her beer, she tried to bring those feelings down with the alcohol. It was not that she still had feelings for him. No, she never had. It's just the memory of him shook her to the core. And the way he was today, she was proud of and happy for him, but there was a miniscule feeling of rage envoking inside her. How could he possibly forget her.
He always had this special place in her heart, and she could never put a finger on what she felt about him. But one thing she knew for sure, he always managed to surprise her with his actions. And that she thought highly of him, though she never announced it to the world.
His warm dimpled smile was what she felt was the best thing about him. He managed to smile through every pain, and be with his sorrows. And what irked her the most was, he never let it out in front of everybody. He always bottled up his emotions, and never let his guard down. And he loved unconditionally, without any expectations.
Chugging down another huge sip of the warm liquid down her throat, she let it burn her throat. The pain in her throat, made her feel that her own pain reduced. A part of her conscious told her drinking is not a solution. But damn her brain. In her slurred voice she ordered another bottle. Today, nothing could stop her. For once she did not want to be rational, for once she did not want to be in her own control. She wanted to fill in the hollow of her life. Patch up the emptiness she felt.
She did not lack love in her life. She had wonderful friends, and a loving companion, who always loved her despite her complexities and however she behaved. She could be herself front of them, put her guard down.
The memory of boyfriend made her shudder. She should be with him, and not thinking about the other him. She paid, got up from the bar stool and with unsettled steps walked towards her boyfriend's room. She had to be with him and assure him. Things had gotten ugly between them after they saw him.
She had seen him at the dance competition and he left everybody stunned with his presence. He did not see any of them, nor they met face-to-face. They saw him on the dance floor. He had given in his best shot. Even better than she had ever seen him. He had left the audience awestruck and indeed even she was.
When she reached her boyfriend's doorstep, it flung open. It seemed like he was coming out, maybe to find her. The expression on his face made her gasp.
"Hey! I'm glad you came. We need to talk!"
