Exiting the stage, everyone hovered around Kriya; hugging her, showering her with their love and gazillion questions. She replied back with smile, trying to pay attention to all of them but she was highly distracted. Their voices were audible for her. All she wanted to go up to him. The wait had already stretched long. She had waited long already. Even after being in the same city, she hadn't showed herself to all. All because of the damned misunderstanding.

Vishakha finally came to her rescue. "Guys, give her a second to take a breath at least." Kriya blinked to look at Vishakha and was surprised to see her next to her. Apparently, as seen, all of her undivided attention was on Rey who looked back at her with a look in his eyes that she couldn't quite pin point. It held mixed emotions... as if he was fighting with his emotions.

Kriya opened her mouth to say something but was interrupted, "That's all you care about?" She turned back to Rey, not really surprised at the accusation. Though, she really didn't want to have this ugly conversation with him in front of everyone. She eyed others who looked completely confused. Swayam and Sharon looked as if they wanted to be anywhere but here. Other bore similar expressions.

"Rey..."

"No. You don't get to talk. Not this time. That's all you do isn't it? Just show up when you want to and leave. Just like that. And then move on as if nothing ever happened. How can you be so selfish."

"Rey..." Swayam tried to interfere.

"Swayam please. Don't defend your best friend again. This is between me and her."

"If it is, then go talk privately! We don't need to hear this." A new voice, Sharon, spoke for the first time since the group strolled down the stage.

Both Rey and Kriya flinched a little at her tone but nevertheless, Kriya was thankful for that act. They really did need to sort things out. It was high time. She continued.

"It's almost time for the results to be announced. Let's go guys." Everyone left but Rey and Kriya. Vishakha passed one comforting look to Kriya before leaving. One thing Kriya noticed was the grim look on Taani's face when she walked past her. Kriya couldn't help but feel guilty somewhere deep down.

"Rey... let me explain..." her voice, pleading, came when they were alone. Rey turned his back on her.

"Why are you here now? Can't you let me move on with peace? I can't believe I ever loved such a selfish person like you! Who comes and goes as she pleases for her own fun."

Kriya felt a stab in her heart at his words. Yet, she continued her attempt to explain things. "You can. You have every right to move on. But please... just let me explain once. Then the chain is all your's."

"5 minutes." Rey spoke. She understood she would only get 5 minutes of his time. She decided to make the best of it and get straight to the point.

"When you called that day... Mom was talking about Naina... a friend I made after all the time. It wasn't what you thought. I've loved you and I will always love you. Even if you love someone else, I can never stop loving you. I don't think there is anyone or anything in this world that can make me stop loving you. I know...Me just leaving like that and telling it to you through a letter wasn't right. I should have confronted you. But at that moment, it was important for me to keep my mother's trust. And I was hoping you'd understand me... I can't blame her for what she did. She was only protecting me."

"From what? Me?!"

"NO! She was trying to prevent history from repeating itself." Kriya shot out without realizing what she was saying. Then she quickly changed the topic before he had a chance to catch on to what she slipped out. "I came back a month ago... Just few days after you called. I even came to meet you at the basketball court. But that day... when I heard you say such things about me to that girl... I just couldn't. I didn't know any better. I ran away... For that, I'm sorry... I let the misunderstanding continue... I have no right to flip your life around again like this... So I just hope you'll forgive me and remember our good memories... No matter what happens next."

She choked the next words. "I – I love you."
