"Love." She answered simply.

Arnav just stared at her for a moment, her answer throwing him off slightly. But Arnav Singh Riazada wasn't one to lose a challenge... even if that meant forgetting there ever was a challenge.

"Ha, okay. Anyways forget all these things. and tell me, did you like the champange?"

"Hmmm," Khushi took another sip of her champange before answering, "The champange is nice."

Khushi reached out for the bottle of champange. Arnav watched as she attempted to pronunce the French name of the champange before doing her the favor of telling her himself. She gave him a soft smile in response before looking away.

"Mhmm."

Arnav wait for Khushi to continue, knowing something was definately on her mind.

Suddenly Khushi turned back to face him, looking him the eye and asked, "So don't you have a wife? Or maybe a girlfriend?"

Arnav was definitely not expecting this question from her. He thought for a second before answering her,

"Marriage isn't really my thing. And as for a girlfriend, you could say I have one, more or less." Arnav shrugged his shoulders and looked away, making it clear that this wasn't up for discussing anymore.

But when was Khushi Kumari Gupta one who took a hint.

"More or less? What kind of answer is that? Is she your girlfriend or not?" Khushi demanded to know, she couldn't believe her ears this man in front of her didn't even know if he had a girlfriend or not!

Arnav sighed thinking, she isn't going to let this is she? And reluctantly answered, "She, Lavanya, and I had a fight before I came here."

"Don't you miss her?" Khushi asked him softly.

And bam! Khushi had once again thrown Arnav off, did he miss Lavanya?

"Um. No, not really." Arnav answered truthfully, surprising himself.

"Huh...?" Now Khushi was taken aback, confusion evident on her face. What would she think of him, what man didn't miss his girlfriend? Even after a fight?

"Why would I miss her when I'm sitting with India's future number one showstopper?" Arnav said with a smirk and to his relief Khushi let out a embarrassed yet delighted giggle.

He opened his mouth to say something when his cell phone went off. He excused himself and went to answer the phone.

"Hello... Yes, Aman?... Oh, sorry. I was busy in a meeting." Arnav glanced back at Khushi, who smiled at him. "Um, yea. Of course. Just bring the papers here... What? Your already here?... Okay, I'll be right down."

He hung up, turning to Khushi.

"Khushi? Um, something's come up and I have to go for a while. Make yourself comfortable and enjoy the food. I'll be back soon. Okay?" Arnav said while grabbing his coat and phone.

"Okay!' Khushi chirped as he walked out the door.

Arnav strode through the lobby, making his way to Aman.

"Sorry for disturbing you so late sir, but this was important." Aman quickly said as Arnav made his way to him.

"Of course Aman. Work always comes first. So tell me what are all these files for." Arnav replied calmly, surprising Aman.

"Sir, these are the files containing the paperwork for the new project we have started on." Aman answered obediently.

And with that, Arnav and Aman begun working, reading through file after file, making important calls, signing papers, and what not.

A few hours later, Arnav and Aman finally got up from their work, finished. They said their goodbyes and Arnav made his way back up.

He entered the room to see Khushi was no where in sight, he walked to main master bedroom and there he found Khushi laying across the bed, still dressed in her clothes from earlier, deep in sleep.

He walked into the room, getting a closer look at her sleeping form, a smiling forming on his face as he whispered a soft,

"Good night.: Before turning and walking out of the room and into the extra one down the hall.

Khushi stepped out of her room the next morning, her head aching slightly, to find Arnav on the phone with someone and from the sound of it, it sounded like business.

Laad Governor, Khushi thought, always doing business, business and then some more business.

She watched as Arnav turned and spotted her, gesturing towards the dining table, where breakfast was laid out.

A few moments later he ended the call and joined her.

"Um, Arnav?"

"Yes, Khushi?"

"When did you returning home last night?" Khushi asked uncertainly, she didn't remember anything that happened last night...did they...

Arnav let out a chuckle, clearing reading her thoughts, "I got back pretty late and by then out we knocked out.

"Oh. Um, I don't remember anything from last night."

"How could you? After all that champagne you drank?" Arnav chuckled some more, unable to control himself.

Khushi brightened up as well, his laughing was contagious and he made it clear that nothing had happened last night.

"Well it was my first time, you know."

"I could see that. Anyways have something." Arnav said gesturing to all the food as Khushi dug in the moment the words left his mouth.

"So what are you're plans for today?" He asked as she gulped down some juice.

"Um, well today's my portfolio shoot! Then, I'll do some shopping. And then, I'm going back, to Lucknow!" Khushi exclaimed excitedly.

"Back? So soon?" Arnav questioned her, making her look at him weirdly, "I mean, if you're here, why not stay back a few days?"

"Oh how I would love to!" Khushi exclaimed, but then her face fell, "But what am I going to do here? My plans didn't work out... plus I have to go back."

She was in between another bite when she saw the time, "Oh my Devi Maiyya! I'm so going to be late!"

Turning back to Arnav, she said, "I have to go now, but... before I leave...can I take a bath in that big tub?"

He smirked at her, nodding and said, "Sure, why not. Just don't drown."

Khushi made a face at him and then rushed off laughing.

Arnav made his way into Khushi's room to find her still in the bathroom. He knocked telling her to hurry up as he wanted to talk to her.

He was waiting out side, working on his laptop when she came out in her bathrobe, oh god! Did she even realize what she was doing?

"You wanted to talk to me?" Her voice breaking his train of thought.

"Uh yea. You want to model for Mohit Bal, right?" Arnav questioned, already knowing the answer.

"Of course. That's why I'm going today to have my portfolio made, then Akash will get me a meeting with Mr. Bal." Khushi replied.

"Ah yes. But what if I tell you that you can get a meeting and you won't even have to get a portfolio ready?" Arnav set up the bait.

"What?! That would be amazing!" She shouted, excited. But suddenly stopped and timidly asked, "But how is that going to happen? Mr. Bal is out of the country right now, isn't he?"

"Yes, but i can call him and have your meeting arranged with him"

"Really? You think he'll agree to it?"

"Why not? He's a very good friend of mine." Arnav said with confidence. "In fact, I could have him meet you the day he gets back."

"Wow! Thank you so much!" Khushi cried happily.

"But...there's one condition." Arnav stated, leaning back in his chair.

"Condition..." Khushi said wearily. "What sort of condition?"

"Come sit and I'll explain everything to you."

Khushi sat down across from him hesitantly.

"Khushi, look, you know that I'm here in Mumbai for business." Arnav began and Khushi nodded in agreement.

"Well for these few days I'm going to need a companion, someone who will attend important meetings and parties with me." Arnav explain to her slowly, "And I wanted that you stay with me."

Khushi looked around and then at him uncertainly, "But... you can take any girl... then why me?"

Arnav was expecting questions, but not this one.

"Well, yes, I could. But the thing is I find you very interesting." Arnav said truthfully, earning a smile from Khushi.

"Plus, I want a smart Indian girl, just like you. And I won't be able to find one so easily." Arnav added.

"And... what about beautiful?" Khushi asked, a smile playing on her lips. Once again Arnav wasn't expecting this.

"Ah, yes. Beautiful, too." Arnav amended. "So? What do you say?"

"Um, well. For one night was a different thing, I can't stay for so many days."

"Why? Why can't you stay back?" Arnav questioned curiously, "After all you're in Mumbai and if you want to model for big shots, like Mohit Bal, then you're going to have to spend some time here."

She remained silent, deep in thought.

"Well, think about it. You won't get another chance like this." Arnav subtly pushed her some more.

"Uhhh, I think... I think you're right!" Khushi agreed excitedly, "Do you really think Mr. Bal will choose me to model for him, though?"

"Why not? Just impress him in the meeting and the spot is yours."

"But... Umm... What else will I have to do?" Khushi asked quietly.

Now this Arnav was expecting, "Ah, what else will you have to do?"

Arnav leaned in closer as he said this, watching Khushi's expressions go from worry to fear in seconds. He suddenly moved back laughing.

"Khushi, you're not going to have to do anything else. Nothing will happen without your approval." Arnav promised.

"Anyways, you'll come with me to dinners and parties. You'll have a lot of fun, trust me."

"Really?"

"100%"

"Okay then!" Khushi smiled at him.

"Okay meaning?"

"Meaning I'm staying!"

Arnav's lips stretched into a content smile, an unknown feeling of happiness flooded in him as he replied with a,

"Great!"

This was kind a boring filler types again, but it was necessay for the story to progress!😳
