CHAPTER THREE
KHUSHI'S POV:
Next day. At university.
"So you're the bitch who sleeps with my brother." I looked up and saw a petite looking girl glaring at me. Shit. I run out of words, this girl was Anjali, Arnav's sister.
"How dare you speak to my friend like that?" Riddhima asked annoyed.
"I'm Arnav's sister and you had better not defend my brother's s**t." Anjali shouted.
And the next thing I felt was a stick on my face. She hit me.
"Calm the f**k down bitch. And don't dare touch my sister." Payal roared loudly. I have never seen her this angry before. God! She is a tigress.
"Okay enough. Calm down now." I said while putting myself in the middle.
"I already warned you s**t, get away from my brother." Anjali threatened me again. She turned around and left.
I could not think of anything, God Arnav's family hated me.. with good reason, for them I was the worst in the world, but I never thought that they would come so quickly to face me.
It was time for my class, so without saying anything, I left. Riddhima was with me. Before entering the hall we found Arnav.
"Good morning." he wished.
"Good morning." I said without looking.
"What's wrong, you look tensed?" He asked.
"Nothing it's just that I'm late to class." I lied.
He lift my face. I knew that he caught my lie. I saw him and he stared back at me. His eyes were dim and that indicated two things, 1) he was very angry or 2) he was excited. I prayed to God to be the second, but knowing I was not god's darling. It was the first option. Shit. I cursed.
"What happened to you?" He asked in a dark voice.
"Nothing." I lied "I fell on the stairs. You know I'm very clumsy."
"Tell me the truth." He asked coldy.
"If you won't tell him the truth than I will." Riddhima said while glaring at me. Softens a bit seeing my teary face. "Khushi. He deserves to know." Riddhima said quietly.
"Ridz, don't interfere in this matter. I'm really fine." I said gently, but with a look I-am-gonna-kill-you.
"Shut up. I'm not scared of you little girl. Arnav is also my friend and I'm damn sure he will protect me from your claws. *pointing towards Arnav* Your sister Anjali threatened her to leave you and than she hit her with a huge stick. I swear if she wasn't your sister.. she would have been at the hospital right now." Riddhima said furiously.
"Anjali beat you?" Arnav asked clenching his jaw.
"It's all ok. I deserve it." I said with a sad smile.
I touched his shoulder and he shrugged it off. "Don't." He said dangerously and left.
"Thanks Riddhima. You deserve an 'the world's bestest friend' award for this. Why did you tell him?" I sneered at her.
"Look Khushi, what happened few hours was not right, it's his fault too. They can't blame you for manipulating him. His family should not come and insult you in whatever way they please." My friend snapped back.
I kept silent.
We went to class and for the first time I was not interested, I just thought of Arnav and felt like hell. I knew this was the beginning and there is a long way to go.
ARNAV'S POV:
After Riddhima told me that my sister had come to talk with Khushi, she had beaten her, I had to use all my self control not to run out and slaughter her.
Today I was going to have a heavy day because after the classes I had to go to my office and deal with a custody case.
Meet me in the parking lot - Khushi. I read the message and sighed.
I know she wanted me to tell me that she was fine, and my sister's visit will not change any things between us.
"Hi." I said softly.
"Hello, handsome." she said smilingly.
"How are you?" I asked her concerned, I actually wanted to hold her tight but I knew I can't, someone could see us and I did not want to add more drama.
"I'm fine. Really. Nothing happened Ridz exaggerates things. You know her." she lied.
"I swear to god, I will kill her if she tries to bother you again." I said darkly.
"Shh. No more talking." She said seductively. I narrowed my eyes. She really know how to change my mood.
"Are you trying to seduce me, Khushi?" I smirked.
"Is it working?" She replied smugly.
"I'm dying to hug you." I whispered. "Me too." She replied.
"Am, I going to see you later?" She asked with a twinkle in her eyes.
"I'm not sure. I have to go and find a hotel to stay, and transfer my things there."
"Hotel?" She asked.
"I left my house. Lavanya told my family about you and they started their melodrama. I got angry and stormed out of there." I sighed and rubbed my temples. "If you want .. you can live-in with me." I joked.
"Why not? You can live in my house." she said while blushing. God she looks so beautiful. I want to bite her cheeks hard.
"Really?" I asked incredulously.
"Sure you can, get your stuff. I'll go and arrange some space for you." she said excitedly.
"I love you." That's was all I could say.
"Ok, now go and get your stuff. I'll meet you in half an hour." she said happily.
I brought my bags and some boxes and put it in porch, I was happy. Khushi was the woman I loved and she loved me. All the time we've been together she never asked me leave Lavanya, unlike when I vented to her, I just listened to her non stop chatter which was a music to my ears, and my selfish side also drew with Khushi, because I knew that when my family would find They would get hurt, but still she listened to all my problems and cried with me.
I'm unburdened now that we are together. I will not let anybody hurt her. Not even my family.
Anjali stopped me in the hall.
"Let see how long your lover can tolerate you. Hmph. You are just like our father Arnav. You failed me." Anjali barked.
"Di look, I still respect you but I can't let you insult my Khushi. I'm in love with her and in love you go by heart not my any relationship. Our love doesn't need a name. You never falled in love. You're still a girl who thinks that what you say is right, but I have news for you, life is not a rose and things will not always be as you want." I yelled back.
"Do not talk to your sister, like that." My Nani said sternly. She looked upset.
"Chottey has changed Nani. Just because of that woman he is destroying his family. Just like papa. Stop him Nani." Anjali said in tears.
"Oh really? And do you want me to assume that you love me? That you want my happiness? Okay than. I have breaking news for you. Khushi is my happiness and she is the only woman I love. So leave me alone." I told Anjali.
Nani and Anjali left. Except Akash who witnessed the whole scene.
"What do you want Akash?" I asked angrily.
"Just wanted to say you're right and I only want your happiness and if that girl is your happiness.. I am also happy." Said my brother looking at me.
"Are you drunk? Or you are seriously saying that?" I asked surprised.
"No I'm not drunk. I told you, you are my brother and my place is by your side, assisting you, I have never seen you fighting with Di for anyone, not even for Lavanya who is supposed to be a great wife to put you well." Akash said with a smile at the end.
"I assure you, she is a wonderful woman and I'm sure she will win everyone's heart." I told him.
"I hope so.. When are you going to present her? I want to see my future bhabhi." Akash teased.
"Very soon. Thanks Akash. That really means a lot." I went over to hug him. The truth is that I was really grateful. I needed someone to talk to about this, someone to help me.
"Well brother, I have to go. I have consultations in the hospital." Akash said. He was a doctor.
"Okay. Go." I said happily wiping few tears from my eyes.
"Don't forget to pay for the beer stock. Later brother." He winked and left. I chuckled. He is still an asshole.
After my brother went to work, I got my clients from custody, I knew we had won this case, the mother was irresponsible for abused children, so I just press a little to the lawyer of the other party to cede custody without a fight. And also because Arnav Singh Raizada never lose.
I was about to call Khushi, to see if I wanted to take some groceries back home. Before I could hit the green button.
"Hello?" I asked because the call had come into my cell and I did not recognize the number
"Arnav?" someone said in a hysterical voice.
"Who is this?" I asked.
"It's me Riddhima. I'm scared Arnav. Khushi is carried to the hospital, come here soon." She said nervously and the line was disconnected. Click.
