What is Priya's role here? Is she Khushi's therapist? or friend? or does she consider her to be a surrogate sister? Is she trying to do for Khushi what she couldn't do for her own sister? Is she giving advice to Khushi in an attempt to vicariously right things for her sister...maybe a little late in the day for that.

If as she says she is seeing Khushi's emotions and now wants to act on helping her rather than just holding a mirror to her emotions, then I would suggest that she continue to do so as Khushi's friend or well wisher NOT as her therapist. When she starts drawing her late sister into the equation, then Priya is too involved and can no longer be objective in her approach as a therapist needs to be.

I applaud her attempt but not as khushi's therapist.

Small question: why state attorney here? shouldn't it be a judge?

I like buts, they help me look at something i must have overlooked. Or forgot to clue in on, while writing the update.

Well personally as a writer, i stopped seeing Priya as Khushi's therapist after the foundation dinner. I thought it was unspoken rule that, Khushi had let her go. And would not use her services anymore. Hence, whatever would occur afterward, would be on a more personal level. But, i know where you are coming from also. Its very true, once a therapist gets involved emotionally, the lines become blurred and they loose their objective. So its my fault for not mentioning, that Priya was no longer khushi's therapist.

Well, honestly, i do not know much about law. My law understanding is based on Canadian law. The basic's at least. Basically, first you go through the state's attorney. He is representative of the child. Because, in case's where parents are battling for custody, the state appoints a attorney on behalf of the child. This is so the final decision remains objective and does not become subjective. Anyway, the judge comes later. The judge will make an appearance in the next update, when the final decision will be declared. Feel free to correct me! If i am wrong :)

Tht was beautiful shiz, ''Our words are empty as they come; it is what you do with them, which truly matters. Just by showing someone the mirror is not enough, it is how you help them after they have come to realize the tough reality.'' Tht was epic shiz, so so true. Loved it to bits. Thnks for the pm.

Right now I feel truly glad at coming across this ff. What makes it stand out is that it gives importance to a lot of emotions which prevail apart from the love a man feels for a woman, and you have made full justice to it. Almost every character has a shade of grey in them and it is the choice they make that defines the person they are.
Khushi: She has been shown as one of the most flawed characters, but if you look closely from her perspective she may not be as wrong. A person rejected by all who mattered to her during her earlier years, who faced shut doors during her pregnancy; pushed to the limit of attempting suicide. She had made a choice to let go of her son with the fear of raising him as a single mother and a hope that he would get a brighter future away from her. Later she made a choice as a mother who yearns for her son, to bring him back. The folly here was she concentrated only on her state of denial to correct her wrongs, that at times the impact over Aryan's happiness was forgotten. The resolve of not wanting to become like her parents drove her to make her choices.
Arnav: His life revolves around Aryan and he is doing everything that he would have done had his own child survived in the accident Khirad faced due to him. He starts falling for Khushi and later realises that she is Aryan's birth mother. His immediate reaction to this being that she poses a threat to his relationship with his son. Arnav is not able to hate and hurt Khushi to the extent he wants to as he sees what he did to Khirad through her. Apart from Aryan being his priority in a way his choices are also made as a need to correct a person from committing the same mistakes he made in the past.
Aman: Aman had to choose between Arnav and Khushi. He sees Khushi as a mother who left her son, whatever might be the reasons, and has come back after 4 years as she yearns for him. He sure sympathises with her at times but has consistently chosen to support Arnav.
Priya: The 19th chapter revealed the force that drives Priya to make a choice. She has always discriminated between personal and professional issues effectively. A doctor or therapist are in for trouble when they get emotionally attached to their patient. Priya had tried to bury her guilt in not helping Khirad the way she could have which surfaces when she sees Khushi resemble her sister. She chooses to help and persuade Khushi after showing her the mirror of reality to prove to herself that she is no longer the person her sister accused her of.
Everyone makes a choice which are coloured by guilt (Khushi), need to prove to oneself (Priya), correct a wrong (Arnav), out of selfish motives (Shyam) and no matter how much they deny it at the end of the day choices are biased.
PS: Aryan is absolutely adorable. He loves his father and knows how to soothe away his worries. On the other hand he somewhere identifies the special bond with his teacher. Wonder how the choices others make will impact the four year old.
