Now Nag Ashwin takes a dig at Deepika for the Kalki mess
A few hours later:
"Ma!" Arnav screamed in a shattered voice, the vivid nightmare wrenching him from his sleep.
Swinging his legs over the bed frame, he padded silently to the bathroom, his body drenched in cold sweat from the events that had taken place 14 years ago.
Swiveling the taps to the right, he splashed cold water on his face. Hoping that the water would cleanse him, take the gruesome memories of his past away.
But it didn't.
Nothing could ever take it away, Arnav thought as a deep rooted pain slashed through his entire being.
He clenched his hands on the stone basin and supported his body against the marble, taking in deep breaths to calm himself.
Arnav felt his tense haunches relax to their normal lazy position; the stark tendons laying back into the bronzed skin. He gazed into the mirror; his eyes narrowing and taking in his reflection almost critically.
Cheekbones stood out in sharp relief against his skin. The usual bronze tone was reduced to pale ash in the wee hours of the morning, owing to the events of his nightmare.
Normally caramel hued orbs were darkened to a deep stormy brown, the irises tinged with an aggressive black. The scar above his right brow was highlighted as it stood out starkly against his forehead. Sweat-the remnant of his dark past; dripped down the sides of his face where it fell to the aggressive jut of his shoulder blades.
He walked out of the bathroom just as silently as he had entered. Pulling the duvet over him, he turned to his side and gazed at the picture beside his bed. "Ma" he cried out once again, this time his voice a mere broken note.
Arnav pulled his hand back and closed his eyes, waiting for the welcome droop of his lashes. It was the only reason he looked forward to this nightmare. After it had passed, he could have the sleep he desperately craved.
But it did not come.
He changed his position, lying on his stomach rather than his back. Even that did not help, something irked him further. There was a feeling that something was...missing.
Arnav growled at the helplessness of his situation. Which made him even more frustrated, which in turn heightened his energy.
Sleep was clearly evading him tonight he thought, his temper eating away at his brain. He turned again, but to no avail.
A pair of hazel eyes flashed before him, offering him a moment's respite. But before he could realize what had happened, they were gone.
Concentrating with all his might, Arnav pulled back the image in front of his eyes. He stared into those wonderful irises as he was gently lulled into a soft sleep.
All he could remember was those eyes...her eyes.
Next morning;
Khushi awoke to a warmer than usual atmosphere. Shaina had snuggled into her side, making the older woman's arm a pillow in the process. Her hand was on Khushi's warm belly, the gesture familiar to her.
Sometimes Khush felt like she was not only Shai's sister, but her mother as well. But it was a welcome feeling; someone to care for, someone to love. She looked at Shaina.
Khushi sighed. How much longer could she try and protect her little baby? Yesterday had proved to her that Shai was unhappy. That she was very unhappy.
And Khushi was clueless.
She had no idea how to take the pain away. All she could do now-and forever, she added, was to stay with her. Be with her. Support her.
Sighing once again, she picked up her cell phone from the bedside and exhaled in relief. It was only 5:30 am, she wouldnt be late for work.
Yesterday, after she had finished cleaning the kitchen, someone had rung the door bell. Initially surprised at who would come so later, she had been greeted by a tall, uniformed man who had requested her to sign some urgent papers.
Her contract papers. She had offered the man some tea (which he had politely declined) and told him that she would require some time. He had nodded in a respectful manner, telling her that he would wait downstairs.
Khushi had gone through everything. She had been ecstatic at the pay; people were right, working at AR really was brilliant. She also had her health insurance and life insurance covered.
As she was an employee of AR, furthermore she was ASR's PA, she was welcome to share the company's exclusive wardrobe. Khushi gasped at that fact, a smile making its way across her lips. That seemed like fun. Too bad she had never been the dress up type.
There was however, a dress code to be followed. Formals or Semi-Formals.
Khushi had gone over everything once more, making sure that she had not missed even an iota of information. Finally, she had picked up a ball point pen and signed her name on each dotted line.
Unbeknownst to her, she had signed the contract that would bind her to Arnav Singh Raizada forever.
An hour later; AR Headquarters;
He felt her walk in even before he raised his eyes to meet hers. There was a certain cheer that clung to her like an aura. Just like her name...Khushi. Mentally shaking his head, he gazed at her and opened his mouth to speak, but stopped like someone had physically disallowed him to do so.
This woman was a temptation.
It seemed clichd, but there was no other way he could describe her appearance. If she had the eyes of an angel, she possessed the body of a siren.
Arnav's hungry gaze took in the sleeveless sheer grey and black top, worn over a black camisole. It lay lightly across her bust, hinting at the lush curves. She had coupled it with a wine red pencil skirt that hugged her hips and fell to her knees. His hot stare slid down her bare, shapely calves and onto the dainty feet clad in classic black pumps.
Clenching his jaw with a tautness that was almost painful, he willed himself to look at her face.
Which wasnt such a good idea.
Her hair was pulled back into a classy chignon, wavy tendrils cascading over her cheeks. It actually required physical constraint to not get up and pull her by that hair and just kiss her.
Arnav snapped out of it and cleared his throat "I trust you found everything in the contract Ms. Gupta?" he enquired in his gruff voice. He saw her nod and once again his gaze flitted to her beautiful visage.
f**k. He shouldn't have done that.
She had worn her glasses again. Hell, he wasn't complaining. They magnified those kohl-lined eyes beautifully, further accentuating their apparent beauty.
Arnav's gaze snapped to her pink lips...she was saying something. But he couldn't concentrate; he was lost in thought. Wondering what those lips would feel under him, on his skin...
"Mr. Raizada? I was wondering what kind of coffee you liked?"
Her melodious voice cut through the sexual haze that pressed upon his mind and body. "Black. Strong and no sugar" he emphasized each word, a little more strongly than needed.
Arnav saw her button nose scrunch, and his gaze settled onto the diamond stud that now glinted mutedly in the soft light. She hadn't worn it yesterday for the interview he realized. But why, he wondered. Didn't she know that it looked so sexy-
Ms. Gupta smiled slightly at him and walked out, her hips swaying delightfully; as if in sync with his disastrous thoughts.
How the hell was he going to survive on just business?
I hope you liked. Leave your comments.
