A/N: I am sorry my readers for the late Update! well its not really late but as to my usual quick ones, this is late. bichare arnav and Khushi were so sad they went into hiding, had to go bring them out :-p anyways so here is the next Chapter. hope you all like it!Chapter 10He missed her.
It had been long since he saw her properly or even had a proper conversation. Last words exchanged between them was the day after his stupidity.
She did her best to avoid him. He didnt drop her off or pick her up from work anymore. No dinner or tv together either.
Arnav right now just liked her...a lot, and wanted to get to know her. He had to start afresh but didn't know how to.
It was the weekend, she had gone out for breakfast, alone. He planned to see her after she got back and try to talk.
So many times the thought of calling his di and asking for some help crossed his mind but the drama that would result in them knowing he was living with a female under the same roof put him off.
Also there was nothing between them, maybe if there was something...anything he would have told his family.
Khushi was a girl who he could see a future with. She is educated, pretty, has the cultural and religious morals and value, is mature, pretty, with a bit of struggle quite compatible with him and again so pretty.
He still remembered very clearly how her desire clouded eyes were, her face flushed and lips swollen.
Rubbing his face to get rid of the path his thoughts were going, Arnav finished off his bagel and took the last swug of his coffee washing off the remnants.
As he got done unloading the dishwasher, he heard the door click open.
She was here.
~~~
Khushi went walking past the kitchen and heard him call out.
For a second she thought she imagined it, it had been so many days since she saw him or heard his voice properly.
She couldnt help but avoid him and instead of it helping her get over what had happened, she missed him.
Now that she thought back, she did not regret what they shared, she was hurt by his words after, but seemed like the distance they kept for the past time, erased the pain.
"Khushi" he called out again.
She turned around and saw him standing right behind her in shorts and a tshirt. She never saw him dressed like a lazy bum, his hair ruffled and face apologetic.
"I-I am, I didn't mean it, I actually don't even know why I said it. I really wanted to apologize but I didn't know how to...I still dont know how to and then you have been avoiding me so never got the chance."
Khushi stared him as he explained the why with such difficulty. Poor man did really regret it. Still he hadn't apologized.
"Pata hai, I was mad and hu-r- and didnt want to see you or talk to you."
"You can apologize now you know" she added.
Shaking his head at not having done it already he sincerely apologized.
"I am sorry Khushi. I don't know what came over me and lead to that sort of behavior. I shouldn't have said that and I-I shouldn't have attacked you the way I did."
She had not thought of it as an 'attack', yeah it was unexpected but it was a mutual kiss. Didn't they both enjoy It? A dread, sad feeling sunk her.
Here she was thinking that maybe he was jealous at her hanging out with some other man...thats what all it was about wasn't it. Apparently no, he was just being an ass.
Khushi wanted to yell at him, what did he mean by he shouldn't have kissed her like that. She had liked and enjoyed every bit of it. Again the embarrassment was back.
Why did he have to be so confusing with his words and actions.
Pushing her disappointed behind, she smiled at him, showing it was okay between them now.
He smiled back hesitantly.
"So umm do you want to go for lunch or maybe dinner to catch up...to call it a truce?
Heart all over broken she said, "no, can't today, I umm have to go to work to get some things done before Monday and I will be tired by the time I get back."
"Oh that's alright" a bit disappointed at her declining.
"When will you be back by?" he asked.
"I should be home by five or six at the most."
"Aight I'll see you later" he gave her a small awkward wave and left.
Khushi stomped into her room, boiling at herself.
She started yelling at herself,
"didn't you have your feelings sorted Khushi?
Didn't your wise side of the brain tell you, you have tasted the water, its not right and could hurt you, so stay away?
Yeah you have forgiven him, somewhat, but the hurt is still there inside right?
Then WHY did you feel down when he said he regretted his move?
WHY did you have a hope flicker in your heart when he tried explaining.
Aarrgh, why am I yelling at myself?
He did give a mixed signal, just like from the beginning.
Ugh just go to work Khushi.
You need to empty your head of him. Just be civilized with him and everything will fall into normalcy."
~~~
Arnav was not going back off.
She clearly accepted his apology so that both of them could move on.
What work did she have to finish off. She was just interning, wasn't she. Was it an excuse to get away. Was she still going to avoid him.
He was done with her cutting him off.
He decided he was going to fix the mess first and then put in a step towards any relationship, whether it be friendship or more..depending on how things go.
She said she would be back home by five or latest six. It won't be too late for dinner.
That's it, dinner at home. She said she would be tired, well then food will be served to her as she sits on her cute bum.
They will eat together tonight and he will make sure she has no excuse in her pocket again.
