"Today evening we all are going to Akshay Uncle's place for Diwali party .. I hope you both remember .." Kria asked Riya and Ansh as she drove them home from their school ..
"Yeah Mom .. And I and Rahul have so much to discuss also .. " replied 16 year old Ansh sitting at the back in the car playing with his videogame ..
Kria glanced at Riya who was a bit miffed and was looking out of the window ..
"Riya .. aren't you excited about the party like every year?" she asked softly ..
"Mom .. I have lots of assignments so I can't come .. I am sorry ' I will just call them and talk to them .." she said without looking at Kria .. but Kria was sure when she heard the voice .. Assignments were just an excuse .. Riya was trying to hide something .. she could feel that she was on the verge of crying ..
But .. before she could say anything .. Ansh interjected sarcastically "There she goes our Sulky Riya Baby again .."
"Ansh .. please stop it .." Kria immediately tried to stop the coming argument between the brother and sister .. because it was very difficult if it got out of hand ..But ..to her surprise Riya didn't react to Ansh's comment ..
Ansh as usual was not bothered .. he continued .. " We all know why she is brooding .. she got a few grades less than Rahul .. What's the big deal .. " he asked in an exasperated manner ..
Kria answered "No Ansh .. for her studies are important .. she wants good grades because she wants to apply for the top college .. and its very much same for you too .. you just can't handle if you don't do well in your baseball matches .. so please I want this topic closed now .. "
"Ok Mom ' but in a way if she doesn't come it would be good for me only .. " he said ..
"Why " Kria was a bit surprised and she looked at him thru the mirror ..
"Well .. I and Rahul can discuss on how we are going to ask our dates for the prom night .. and if Riya comes then she just needs a point to argue with Rahul on something or the other .. and we boys never get time to have the real boys talk .."
Kria smiled and shook her head .. Teenagers .. God !!!

Kria softly knocked at Riya's bedroom door and then opened it .. She found Riya sitting on the window sill and looking out .. Riya had not even registered that her mom had entered her room '
Kria had seen her from the time she was back from school that she was very quiet .. She had not retorted to Ansh on any of his silly comments .. that was something Kria couldn't digest .. she just walked to her room without saying a word .. Kria knew that this was their last year in school and Riya was a bit tensed about her grades .. she was aiming for a very good college and she was working very hard for it ..
Kria felt really proud that her little baby had become into such a head strong girl who took her decisions all by herself .. she knew what she wanted in her life .. she was so focussed .. At the same time there were a few things which like every mom , Kria didn't approve off about Riya .. but her own knowledge about how she was when she was a teen .. and also how her Granny had handled her .. Kria knew it would never bring out any good by forcing Riya into anything ..
But .. there was something which was troubling Riya .. As a mom , Kria knew that the sole reason can't be that Rahul beat her this time .. Kria knew that almost every year either Kria topped her class or Rahul topped .. the competition was always between the two .. they both were very good friends as well as very bad enemies too when it came to competition ..
If Riya topped a year .. she would definitely make sure that she would show Rahul his place by using the perfect taunts possible and he would be no less to reply back to her ..
She sat beside Riya and kept her hand on her shoulder ..
"Hey Mom .. I didn't see you come in .. " Riya came out of her thoughts when she felt her mom's hand ..
"Riya .. you ok ?"
"Yeah .. I am good .. Mom .. just a bit tired .." she averted looking at Kria with her red swollen eyes ..
"Just to take your mind off .. why don't you come for the party .. you know its been so long that you have met Akshay and Anu .. they just adore you "
"Mom .. please don't force me .. I really do have lots to complete .. Moreover I am not into all these festivals and functions ..you know .. I really don't understand why do we need to celebrate all this .. atleast it makes no sense to me .. "
Kria looked at her for a long time .. She knew this stage in life is so confusing .. Riya her own daughter who just loved everything about Indian festivals ..from the attire .. to all the festivities .. the decorations .. extra fattening sweets .. the liveliness of the functions .. the colours .. the commotion .. the fun .. but somewhere she was leaving it all behind .. Kria was not at all against her imbibing anything new .. but her Riya was changing and not because Riya wanted to .. but because Riya thought she had to '
"Ok .. no problem .."
"Thanks Mom" she smiled a bit ..
"So Riya .. when is the prom night ?"
Kria immediately saw the tautness return on Riya's face .. she became a bit stiff .. "Its next week , Mom .." she said in a very low voice and started picking up some of her books ..
"Well .. you had told me that you and your friends were planning to get some dresses stitched for that night ' so are you all ready ?"
"Hmm " Riya seemed to be uninterested .. she tried to busy herself with arranging her stuff in the cupboard ..
"Don't you want to show me ?" Kria urged ..
"Mom .. I really don't know where I have kept it .. and I might not even go for the prom night .. " she said with her strained back facing Kria ..
"Oh .. so you are skipping it because of your assignments .. "
"Yeah .. correct"
"Riya .. I just wanted to say something to you .. "
Riya turned when she heard Kria's serious tone .. "Yeah Mom"
"I know you are working a lot towards your goal .. you are putting day and night around it .. all your energies .. your thoughts everything .. and then even after you put in your best .. your more than 100% .. if you face a bit of disappointment .. or you don't feel satisfied with the result .. Maybe you were expecting a certain thing to happen and lets say nothing is going as per that ..
So at such times .. its better to just let go .. don't rush into things .. just lay back .. relax ..
You need to just remember that .. this too shall pass ..
You need to let go of things .. because then only , things will get space and it will fall in the correct places ..
Things are meant to happen when the time is right .. so just have a bit of patience and everything will come together which you truly deserve .. and if doesn't then it simply means it was not worth you ..
Whatever I am saying is not only from your career perspective but also personal and I know that you will give a thought to what I am saying ..
Like me .. others also might tell you to do this or that .. listen to them .. but use your own mind and heart to take the decision ..
Think with your mind and feel with your heart .. and do what you believe in .. don't try to change yourself so that you fit in amongst the crowd .. be what you believe in .. remember that you are unique and special and no one can take that from you"
Riya didn't know what to say to her Mom .. she simply hugged her .. a few tears fell .. but she controlled the rest .. somehow her mom was never a mom to her .. she was always a friend to her .. her words always had more meaning than they seem to in the first go ..
She had always been frank with her mom .. but today .. she was not ready to tell everything .. she needed sometime alone .. time to think ..

"Hey Brainy .. .. upset with me ?" Rahul caught up with Riya after the class ..
"Why should I be ?"
"Come on .. your droopy eyes says it all that you felt bad that I topped .. and also the difference in marks between us was much more than last time " he said with a smirk ..
"Don't fly in the air so much ' this was just mid-term results .. finals are still a long way to go .. "
"I really doubt if you will be able to catch up with me .. "
"Then why waste time here with me .. just get the hell out of here .. " she brushed past him and started walking away quickly ..
"Whoa .. ho.. ho .. someone is really angry .. " he said laughing .. and ran behind her ..
"Hey .. Wait " he caught up near her locker .. as she was putting her books inside an envelope fell out of her book and Rahul saw it .. He quickly grabbed it ..
"Don't you dare open it .. " She snarled ..
Rahul was not going to open it ' but her reaction increased his curiosity and just to tease her he held it high up in the air ..
Riya jumped to get hold of the paper .. "Rahul .. just give it to me .. " she tried to snatch it from his hand .. but he was taller and she couldn't manage it ..
"Let me read it first then you will get it .. "
"No .. its personal " she spat angrily ..
He had never seen her so angry .. she was continuously trying to reach for the paper .. in the process she scratched his hand with her nails ..
"Aah " .. he got p***** off now ..
"Now you won't get it .. " he ran with the paper .. and in turn she ran behind him ..
He quickly opened it and read it and stopped suddenly .. and she bumped into his back ..
He turned to face her a bit confused .. and gave her the paper .. she quickly took it and kept it in her pocket and turned to walk off ..
"So you are going to prom night with Keith ?" he asked icily ..
She was surprised at his tone .. she turned to reply but seeing his face she just couldn't utter a word .. she just couldn't understand his expression .. his eyes were full of anger .. his brows narrowed in the middle with deep creases .. his jaw was clenched tightly ..
She could sense that whatever he spoke a minute back was with utmost difficulty ..
He thought her silence was an affirmation.. "I know Keith was planning to ask you .. "
Suddenly she saw his expression change from anger to a mix of indifference, sadness and hurt ..
She was just not able to place the right word for it ..
"I .. " before she could complete what she wanted to say ..
"Hey Rahul " Jules interjected their conversation .. she came and kissed Rahul on his cheek .. "Come with me Rahul .. I want you to tell me what should I wear for the prom night .. " .. she tugged at his hand ..
"Hey .. Jules .. its lovely to see you .. " he kissed her on her cheek too ..
"Sure .. lets go " he didn't even glance once at Riya and left ..
Riya's jaw dropped and she just stared at both their retreating backs ..

Riya didn't know from when and how she had started liking Rahul ' they had been very good friends from the very beginning .. but suddenly Riya had started feeling differently about him .. she would snap at him if he teased her .. she would be sad almost tearful, if he didn't call her or talk to her .. she would wait to go to school to see him .. and then take some stupid argument to talk to him and irritate him .. she would be angry if he talked to other girls .. or compared her with anyone else especially the bimbo Jules .. she just didn't know what was happening to her .. she wanted to spend time with him at the same time she would be lost in her own thoughts when around him ... she wanted to talk to him but at the same time she wished they just sat together in silence .. how much ever she denied but she knew deep down she loved it when he teased her .. irritated her .. because finally he was the only one who would cajole her and make her laugh ..
She so wanted to tell her mom about all her confusions but thought maybe she would laugh at her ..
But .. hearing her mom now .. she knew her mom had almost read her thoughts .. Her mom somehow knew how she felt .. and she always gave her the time to decide on her own ..
She broke the hug .. "Mom ..you are the best ' you are the coolest mom on the earth .. thank you so much .. so much .. As of now .. I need sometime to be alone .. but I promise I will tell you everything .. "
Kria caressed lovingly her cheek and kissed her forehead and nodded ..
She looked at the ceiling and just thought ..
Riya if you could read my thoughts then you would know that your mom is not the coolest .. at this very moment you have no idea that I am freaking out inside .. Today I have understood what does it really feel like to be a mom to a teenage girl .. I really thank my Granny today for everything she did for me .. I really wonder how I would have handled this situation or dealt with you if my Granny had not been there in my life .. I now recall how she treated me as a friend and not like a grand-daughter .. now I understand her fears .. her apprehensions when she knew that I was hiding something from her .. but she still never forced me to tell her anything ..
I am going to follow her footsteps and I know I will never fail ..
I know you will never understand all this now .. when you become a mother and when you have a daughter .. you will experience this ..
Kria closed the door and left ..

"Hey my princess .. you look gorgeous .. " Akshay came and hugged Riya ..
"Happy Diwali ,Akshay Uncle" Riya giggled ..
"Riya ..you look beautiful in this Indian wear .. you should wear it more often" Anu kissed her on her cheek ..
"I can't believe Riya is wearing Indian today " Rey whispered to Kria .. She smiled .."She has understood what she wants " Kria moved away with Anu leaving a confused Rey ..

The whole house was beautifully lighted with diyas and decorated with flowers and rangoli .. it was filled with laughter and clamour of the guests who were enjoying the Diwali festivities along with the mouth-watering Indian delicacies to the fullest except for one person .. who was trying very hard to get someone's attention but was failing every time ..

"What's the matter with you .. why are you ignoring me ..?" An irate Rahul pulled Riya to a corner in the garden away from the rest of the crowd ..
She simply shrugged and tried to leave ..
"Don't you dare leave .. here I am trying to talk to you since the evening and you ' "he left it half way and pulled her hand to make her face him ..
"Can't you see I am busy .. I don't have the time to talk" Riya again tried to pull herself out from his grip ..
"No .. " he hissed .. and held her shoulders tightly ..
She stopped the struggle and stood still .. "Ok .. What is it ?" she looked evenly in his eyes and asked with an indifference in her tone ..
He loosened his hold .. "Ansh told me that you are not going with Keith for the prom night .."
She took a deep breath "Yes.."
"Then with whom are you going .. " he asked again his tone rising a bit ..
"I don't think I want to discuss that " she simply looked away from him ..
"You have to .. " he said a bit harshly ..
"I am not going with anyone" she pursed her lips and said ..
"Don't lie to me .. I saw the Date invite " he held her more tightly now .. he just couldn't understand why she was lying ..
"I said I am not going" .. she struggled and her had become moist and she kept looking down ..
"Why are you denying it ? .. I saw that paper .. and you literally scratched my hand to get that from me .. Why can't you tell me who invited you .. ? "
"Because .. its none of your business and why are you so bothered with whom I go .. you have a date for yourself so just leave me alone .." she said icily and shoved him with all her might ..
With her sudden force , he faltered back a few steps and stood stunned at her reaction .. She stood rooted and was glaring at him ..
"Rahul .. can you show me how to light this cracker .. " Jules came with some fire crackers ..
Riya came back to her senses and immediately left from there ..
Rahul kept looking at her for a long time thinking .. he recollected the date invite which he had seen with her .. and then something dawned to him ..
He ran in the house leaving a flabbergasted and p****d Jules alone ..

"So finally you are here for your bangle .." Rahul smirked sitting on the table under the gazebo in the garden ..
"Yes ,Anu Aunty said , you found my bangle " She forwarded her hand ..
He started laughing ..
Rahul had actually managed to slip the bangle off her hand while wishing her and Riya hadn't noticed as she was trying to avoid him as much as possible .. Her mom had brought to her notice the missing bangle and since it was Kria's Granny's bangle .. Kria was very miffed with Riya for losing it '
"Not so easily .." He winked ..
"Rahul .. I am not in a good mood today .. so please just give me the bangle .. "
"Yes .. I will give you .. just read this for me .. " he gave her a paper ..
"What .. " she was shocked .. she just crumpled it and threw it on his face..
"Then forget about the bangle too " he got off the table and started going ..
"You can't do that .. "
"Just try me .. "
"Fine ..then keep it with you .. I will ask Anu Aunty to get it from you .. " she huffed and turned her back ..she had enough of him for the day ..
"Nah .. I am not going to keep it with me .. " he said slowly ..
She swung around in surprise .. "Then ?"
"I will gift it to Jules and then no one would ever know what became of Kria Aunty's favourite bangle .. " he said with a determined smirk on his face ..
"WHAT .. " She screamed and sprang towards him .. but he backed off from her reach .. "How can you .. it belongs to me .. how can you give it to anyone .. "
Continuing with his sly smile .. "Its not anyone .. its Jules .." he said and arched his brow ..
Riya thought for a moment .. reading from the paper couldn't be worse than facing mom without the bangle .. she would literally kill her ..
"Ok .. " she picked the paper which was lying on the ground ..
"If I read it .. you will give it to me .. rite ?"
"Yes .. " he grinned victoriously ..
She opened the paper .. and frowned .. there were some 10 ' 12 lines on that ..
She inhaled a sharp breath and started ..
"Rahul is a great guy " she scowled ..
"Rahul is smart , intelligent and the best" She rolled her eyes ..
"Riya will never get angry on Rahul .." she looked up and glared at him ..
"Riya is going to talk nicely to Rahul " she made a face reading that line .. "Reading all this will not make me do it .. just get that straight in your head " she said without looking at him ..
"She will always answer his phone and will go out whenever he asks me to" she raised her brows gave a high-hopes kind of look to him ..
"She will bake for him blue berry cheese cake" she opened her mouth to retort then changed her mind .. What does it matter what is written here .. she is never gonna do any of this ..
"She can pull his cheeks and box his ears whenever he is angry or shouts at her .. " her mouth fell open on reading this line ' she quickly shut it and frowned and re-read it in her mind .. Is this guy out of his mind .. there was no other thought which was running thru her mind at the moment ..
"You have never looked so beautiful " she stopped mid-way and completed the rest of the sentence in and inaudible whisper ... she started looking sideways with utter confusion plastered on her face ..
"Hmm .. loud and clear .. say it again " came Rahul's rasp voice ..
She couldn't even manage to look at him .. she slowly swallowed ..
"You have never looked so beautiful as you do today in this attire"
"I can't seem to take my eyes off you" She stiffened .. she clutched the paper firmly in her hands ..
Riya just 2 more lines and you throw this paper on his face , take your bangle and just run for your life .. you can do it .. just don't look up ..
She repeated again and again in her mind .. But all in vain ..
Helplessly she looked up and met his gaze .. she was taken by surprise by his expressions .. she couldn't decipher the look in his eyes .. The confidence .. arrogance .. attitude ..the smirk .. which she was expecting in his eyes were not there ..
She could see a bit of anxiety , some hope , nervousness .. things which she had never known Rahul ever possessed .. and above there was a deep intensity with which he was trying as if to read her expressions ..
She immediately looked down ..
"Is it my eyes or some magic .. but the crimson shade of your dress matches the rising colour on your soft creamy cheeks '" without her own knowledge she touched her cheek with her hand and realised what she had done .. she couldn't help a small smile rising on her lips .. but she immediately bit her lip and replaced the smile with a scowl .. and pulled her hand down .. she could feel her cheeks burning with the continuous gaze of Rahul on her ..
"3 compliments and you seem to be floating in air .. " the minute Riya read this , she snapped out of her thoughts and came back to reality ..
A few moments back she had felt her heart flutter at the mere words written .. she had believed them .. she had felt it was meant for her .. she had felt special and her stupid mind had woven silly thoughts round the compliments ..
Now realising that it was nothing but a joke for him , how could she fall for his trap .. she knew him so well .. she knew how he loved to taunt and tease her .. she hated herself .. her heart which had hopelessly fallen for him ..
Not wanting to show her real feelings which were crushed before they even could grow .. Even though hurt inside , but determined not to get insulted more by him .. she closed her eyes for a minute to gather herself ..
The minute she opened her eyes .. she found herself staring at another paper .. he had placed that above the one which she had been reading '
Her eyes dilated at the words written .. the paper screamed "Will you be my date for the prom night?"
But , her mind was not reading the line .. her mind was blank because ..
"How the hell did you get this .. its mine .. I had made this for you .. " she yelled and looked at him .. only to find him smiling .. he tilted his head and mischievously winked ..
He gently took the paper from her .. "So you wanted to ask me for the date ?" he smirked ..
She realised what she had blurted out .. Crap .. she turned to go .. but he held her hand ..
Can there be a worst moment than this ? .. she almost cried in her mind .. a small tear trickling down her cheek .. Now everything is in open for him to just walk down .. Hell .. I just hate to face him ..
She tried struggling to get off his hold avoiding his eyes ..
But .. he firmly held her shoulders .. made her walk to the chair .. made her sit on it .. and then came on his knees ..
She seemed a bit surprised .. and looked at him ..
"For your kind information .. this date invite is not yours .. I made it for you " he said gently taking her hand in his ..
Her eyes widened with shock ..
"I am sorry , I am not good with words .. infact not good with any of these .. so just wrote whatever I felt .. I even copied your idea of the date invite .. " he held his right ear slightly with his right hand "Sorry" and twitched his nose ..
"I can't imagine going with anyone but you for the prom .. I was planning to ask you from the last 2-3 weeks .. but you seemed to be acting so weird .. avoiding me .. always arguing with me .. I just didn't know what was happening .. "
He squeezed her hand a bit .. trying to get a reaction from her .. but Riya sat like a statue staring at him ..
"Please don't ever ignore me .. I really want to be with you always .. " he said slowly .. he held her left hand up and gently kissed the back of her hand and looked at her .. a bit fearful of Riya's response ..
She blinked twice and tears started pouring down her eyes ..
She simply came forward and hugged him .. A bit surprised but nevertheless very happy .. he embraced her with all the force ..
After a while , Riya's head was still buried in the crook of his wet neck .. "But .. I thought you were going with Jules"
He gave a short surprised laugh .. "What .. you thought so .. ?" he pulled himself apart to look at her ..
She nodded ..
"She is a good friend .. she is going with Bill .. and she wanted me to help her with what she should wear for the party .. that's it " he cupped her face in his hands .. softly wiped her tears away with his thumb and assured her ..
Riya smiled ..
"So should I assume your answer to be yes .. or do I have to think of something else ?" he asked raising his brows ..
She laughed and mischievously fluttered her eyelashes a few times .. gave a lopsided grin .. tapped her index finger on her temple a few times .. "Let me think .. its not gonna be easy .. " and winked '

"Did I just see Riya hugging Rahul ?" An incredulous Rey asked Kria as they were having their dinner standing in the gallery ..
Before Kria could respond .. "What the hell is he doing on his knees .. I am going to .. " He huffed angrily and was almost going to keep his plate down and leave when Kria stopped him .. She held his hand and then shook her head sideways to indicate a "No" ..
"Reyaansh .. please .. let her take her own decisions .. "
Rey's jaws dropped .. "What .. What do you mean .. she is not even an adult .. she doesn't know anything .. " he spoke rapidly ..
"Yes .. she is not an adult .. but remember she is a teen .. a teen is the someone who has to be handled very carefully .. if you try to force some of your ideas on her .. she will definitely rebel .. and don't treat her like a 5 year old .. she does have a mind of her own and she knows how to use it .. "
"Yes .. I can see that " he said dryly and scowled ..
"Come on Reyaansh .. Rahul is a good guy .. and I know Riya very well .. she will come and tell me everything .. "
"Oh Really .. I just don't believe it .. " He shook his head pessimistically ..
"Please Reyaansh .. what had we decided .. we would be their friends .. we would guide them .. tell them what is right .. what is wrong .. what would be consequences of their decisions .. but we will leave the final decision for them to take .. "
How he regretted such conversations with Kria .. because whatever she said always seemed right .. but he never wanted to agree with her ..
"I am going to keep an eye on both of them " he glared again at the couple whom he could see were almost going to kiss .. "How dare he .. " he hissed under his breath .. then mellowed down and sadly said "she can get hurt" ..
Kria made him turn his back to them .. She smiled at him .. " I know how you feel Reyaansh .. you must be thinking .. just yesterday she was my little girl who came to me and asked me for everything .. she told me everything she wanted .. and today I have no clue what she is doing .. she is hiding things from me .. taking decisions independently .. "
Rey widened his eyes in surprise .. how can Kria understand exactly what I am going thru ..
I know we don't want them to be hurt or ever be sad or regret anything in life .. but if we only tell them what to do and what not to do .. when will they learn .. and if they don't ,how will they be strong .. so let them experience everything and learn from it .. we can only wish for the best .. "
But , not to give in so easily to her .. "Yes .. Yes .. there is Ansh on one side , every time I see him with a new girl and here Riya with Rahul .. God !!! .. they will drive me crazy .. " he said angrily ..
Kria smiled mischievously .. "Ansh is definitely taken that from his father" and she laughed ..
Rey caught her hand tightly .. "What do you mean ?" he glared at her ..
Unable to stop her laughter .. " Before me .. even you had a string of girlfriends .. "
"Of course not .. they were just friends .. " he quickly retorted ..
"Stop fibbing ' Reyaansh Singhannia .. you were known throughout the college for that .. "
"Ok ok .. I couldn't help it if girls fell for me .. but I could only find myself falling for one girl ' " and he gave her a heart melting smile and caressed her cheek ..
She just rolled her eyes ..
"But .. am sure Ansh will never be able to take a decision on his own .. he is so confused .. no .. I guess all these teenagers are confused in life .. "
She sobered . "No Reyaansh .. its not like that .. I think Ansh is matured enough for his age .. "
Now it was Reyaansh's turn to smirk and roll his eyes at what Kria said ..
"Really .. don't you remember when his friend was caught in the drug racket .. you spoke to him .. and what did he say .. he said he had tried all types of drugs .. but he feels that his life .. his career .. and most importantly all those who care for him are very important .. and drugs are just not worth giving all that away .. "
Reyaansh nodded .. his face serious .. "Yes .. I almost had a mini heart attack that day when he said he had tried everything .. "
"They may be naughty .. sometimes they may rebel .. sometimes they may agree to us .. they may do some things behind our backs .. they may hide some stuff from us .. but eventually they will come and pour their hearts out to us only .. they are our kids and am sure they will be fine .. "
"Yes .. you are right "
"Well am always right" she said pompously .. raising her brows ..
"Why is it that its always you are right .. ?" he asked giving a pout ..
She laughed ..
"What will you do if for once I am right .. "
"I will just not talk to you .. that's it .. .. you only will have to come behind me and cajole me and convince me that you are right .. "
They both laughed ..

"Wow .. Riya .. I didn't know that you girls had decided on long evening gowns for the prom night .. you look beautiful .. honey .. "
"No Mom .. I wanted this .. but my friends didn't .. they were for the short summer dress kind of attires .. but now I have decided I would choose what I want to do and what I feel is right .. " she smiled confidently as she checked her makeup one last time .. picked her clutch .. looked at herself for one long moment in the mirror and took a deep breath and opened her bedroom door ..
Kria smiled at her little girl who was finally taking her own decisions .. who had understood what she wanted .. she was gonna make her own path now .. and not just follow what others are doing ..

"Come have a seat .. " as Rahul stood in the hall waiting a bit restlessly for Riya ..
As he was going to sit .. he just froze on his place .. he saw Riya descending down the stairs .. his mouth fell open and his eyes widened to take in as much as the beautiful sight in front of him ..
Rey glanced from him towards the stairs .. he couldn't help but feel jealous .. his daughter was looking really pretty today .. she walked down the stairs slowly oblivious of her surroundings .. just aware of one person from whom her eyes were not ready to move .. her cheeks had already reddened by his mere presence and her fingers were playing nervously with her dress ..
He cleared his throat .. so that the new love birds came back to their senses ..
Rahul ran his hand thru his hair .. a bit embarrassed ..
"Hi Rahul .. you look great today .. " Kria greeted him ..
"Hello Kria Aunty .. Thank you .. " he said a bit breathlessly ..
"Enjoy both of you .. "
"Yes" .. he looked again at Riya ..
"Yes .. enjoy and drop her home in time .. " Rey slapped joyfully on Rahul's back and "Just keep your hands off my daughter .. " Rey just couldn't control himself and he whispered in a shocked Rahul's ears '
This didn't go unheard by both the ladies in the room ..
Kria shook her head and smiled ..
Riya glared at her dad .. and she came forward and took hold of Rahul's hand and brought him closer to her .. and then walked out ..
"Did you see what she did " Rey asked angrily to Kria pointing at the closed door ..
Kria was laughing uncontrollably at the father-daughter antics ..
"Don't sit and laugh Kria .. she is going out of our hands .. "
"Mr. Reyaansh Singhannia .. you are having sleepless night when its just a prom night .. what will happen when they both will go to the same University .. you know .. live in and all "
Kria decided to play on ..
Rey's eyes almost dropped out of his sockets .. "WHAT"
He dropped on the sofa with the shock which he got when he heard Kria's words ..
"Are they planning .. " he couldn't even complete .. words wouldn't come out of his dry mouth ..
"If her parents can do then why can't she .. ?" Kria asked innocently ..
"What the hell .. we were so matured .. and she and that Rahul .. they .. they " he was having such a hard time to gather words ... and suddenly he looked at Kria who was desperately trying to suppress her laughter and maintain a straight face .. He realised what she was upto .. he just threw the pillow at her face .. before a shocked Kria could manage to respond .. "I will kill you for doing this to me .. no better than that " and he quickly sealed her lips with his ..
