I am back with the update .. Most of you have already guessed why and what Rey was doing .. I am happy that everyone is thinking so much about Rey and Kria .. :-) .. Like I keep doing ..

Part 23 - A

Rey came home and just shut himself in his room .. He just couldn't control his emotions .. he cried out loud ..

Kria , I really love you .. please don't do this to yourself .. Every tear you have shed is like a dagger piercing my heart .. I know its all my fault .. I am to be blamed for everything .. I hate myself for all the suffering that you are going thru .. I can't even tell you how sorry I am ..

Every single day I have seen you for these past 5 months .. I know you may never know this .. because sometimes I have been infront of you sometimes hidden .. I just wanted to see you smile once but you didn't .. your smile which was so special for me .. I felt on the top of the world when you smiled at me is just lost .. your sad face makes me cry .. but what should I do Kria .. I really can't hurt you more .. believe me I didn't know just one incident of my life would snatch away all your happiness .. I had no intention whatsoever to cheat you .. today I was on the verge of telling you everything .. but I just refrained from it .. If you know the truth , I am not sure what your reaction will be .. you maynot even believe me .. But by telling you the truth I don't want to bring in more trouble for you .. please Kria forgive me ..

I really don't care about my life .. but I have made your life hell .. I am sorry for that .. I want to say forget me and just move on .. But .. I can't convince my heart to do that .. I love you so much Kria ..

Next morning , Kria was standing infront of his house .. actually it was their house .. she was contemplating whether to ring the bell or no .. she had to get some answers for herself .. for her satisfaction .. she should have called him up and then come .. will there be someone else in the house other than Reyaansh .. that thought itself made her sad .. she turned to go .. No she would have to talk to him else her conscience will not forgive her ..

She took a deep breath and rang the bell .. he opened the door .. he was genuinely shocked to see her .. his eyes were red .. was he crying .. she couldn't be sure .. but then he smiled .. a smile which she had longed to see .. he stood aside for her to enter .. she went and sat on one of the chair .. she glanced at her room .. the door was closed .. was there someone in there .. she wanted to ask .. but she stopped herself ..

Reyaansh came and sat opposite to her .. they both looked at each other .. eyes met .. both were trying to figure out who would start the conversation ..

She has come here to ask him certain things .. she must start .. its upto him whether he wants to answer or no ..

"I hope am not disturbing you ?" .. she started formally ..

"Not at all "

"I read about you in newspapers .. "

"Hmm"

She didn't like the way he was answering in just a few words .. "Why didn't you tell me anything ? "

"I can't" .. he said with despair ..

"But , why .. ".. she was confused ..

"I didn't want you to be involved in this mudslinging game .. I can't see you being hurt more .. Because of me and my folks ,you are already miserable .. this is my problem I will handle it .. Kria , please go .. " he almost choked asking her to leave ..

He seemed to be lost … he walked to the window and was staring blankly outside it .. .. he was hurt too .. she could feel it .. there was so much in his heart .. but he was not willing to share it because she would be hurt .. but by not telling he was hurting her more .. she had to know the truth behind everything .. she knew she had to take the first step to make him talk .. she knew what she had to do to make him talk .. it had been her idea to end an argument between them ..

She walked to him .. and stood infront of him .. he looked at her confused .. she hugged him .. she could feel he was stunned .. his hands didn't move .. she gently placed his hands on her waist and put her head on his shoulder .. "I want to know just the truth " .. she said softly .. "It may be bitter but I am ready for it "

His heart melted .. he had longed for her touch .. her comfort .. her soothing voice .. She could feel his hands gripping her .. she felt his tears on her head .. she looked up .. those eyes .. no they can't hurt her .. they can't see her cry ..

She moved with him so that they could sit on the sofa .. she entwined her fingers thru his .. and gave a squeeze …

He seemed to get hold of his emotions .. looked at her fingers … then in her eyes .. he had tell her everything .. now he can't hide or lie to her .. so he started ..

Taani's Dad and Rey's Dad were very good friends .. They had started their own individual business around the same time ..they had helped each other many a times professionally and Personally the families were very close to each other ..

Rey and Taani had been best friends since childhood .. They had been to the same school .. had enjoyed many family outings together .. They had shared every little secret of theirs with each other .. their crush ..their dates .. it had always been fun to tease and pull each other's leg .. They had entered different colleges but still kept contact ..

When they were in their 3^rd year of college .. it was around that time when the two families started thinking if Rey and Taani would be interested in taking up their friendship to next level ..

Rey's mom had brought up that topic once with him .. She had asked him if he was serious about any girl .. Since Rey had denied .. She had suggested Taani to him .. Rey had been furious about the whole thing .. He had never considered Taani more than a friend .. He knew even she considered him just as a very good friend ..

He discussed this with Taani .. to his surprise even her mom had spoken to her about him .. She too had been very irritated with the whole situation .. They joked and laughed off the whole matter ..

All hell broke on 5^th March .. On Kria's B'day .. Rey's parents 25^th wedding anniversary had been a day before .. they had planned for a party on the same evening .. Even Rey was informed last minute when he had called them to wish them in the morning … so he had to rush the same day .. he had been confident that he would be on time to wish Kria no matter what ..

The party was a grand affair .. Folks from his Dad's business circle .. fashion industry … everyone was invited .. Rey was not surprised to see the crowd .. He knew that whenever his Dad threw a party it was always the talk of the town … He hated this crowd .. he hated the hypocrisy behind these faces ..

He had been waiting for Taani .. he had already told her about Kria … she seemed very eager to know more about her ..

Finally he saw Taani .. she arrived in an Indian attire .. this was something which was more shocking for Rey .. he tried to talk to her .. because he wanted to pull her leg over this .. but she was avoiding him from a long time .. she was surrounded by her and his parents .. he seemed to be a bit confused over her behaviour ..

He attempted to talk to her once or twice but since she ignored him .. he was irritated .. he decided to secretly slip away from the party and call Kria .. just then his Dad called him for the cake cutting .. After the applause died .. Out of the blue his Dad while giving a thank you speech announced his and Taani's engagement .. Rey was so astounded that he didn't realise what was happening .. He wanted to talk to his Dad about it .. but everyone was busy toasting to the new couple … then he saw Taani .. she was blushing as everyone was congratulating her .. she seemed to be aware of this whole matter ..he couldn't believe this .. before he knew he and Taani had exchanged rings .. she was posing for photos with him as if they were lovers but she was still avoiding his gaze .. he didn't want to create a scene infront of this whole gathering .. he took his mom aside to tell her that he was not interested in this relation .. his mom tried to convince him that this is in the best interest of both the families ..

He was so p*ssed off with everyone that he just walked off towards the parking to leave .. Seeing him walk off .. Taani came running behind him ..

Taani : "Rey .. where are you going "

Rey swung and glared at her .. he was fuming with anger .. he just burst on her .. "You knew all this was getting planned behind my back .. still you didn't say anything to me .. I had considered you as one of my best friends ..I had told you about Kria .. but no .. you are one amongst them .." he pointed to his parents .. "How did I ever trust you ?"

Taani put her hand on his shoulder " Come on Rey .. I am the daughter of a business man .. I see only profit .. our alliance would be great for both our businesses .. why don't you understand ?"

Rey narrowed his eyes "I am not going to join my Dad's business .. I am not interested in any of this … Do you understand " .. he literally screamed at her ..

Taani still maintained her cool " Don't be a kid Rey .. for your business venture you need capital .. how do you think you are gonna manage all that .. see you need your Dad's help .. he in return is asking you for a small favour .. you know my Dad and yours are signing a multi-million dollar deal .. we will take it forward .. I have already joined my Dad's office .. "

He just held her shoulders and shook her hard .. she was so shocked that she forgot what she was saying .. "You all are so materialistic .. how did I ever think that you could be my friend … "

Taani recovered "Rey .. you are making an issue over such a small thing "

Rey "What .. I am making an issue .. " he sarcastically said ..

Taani tried to calm him down .. "Listen .. its just an engagement .. marriage would be whenever we want .. and you are worried for Kria .. rite ? .. you can keep and unofficial relationship with her .. I have no issues "

Rey couldn't believe what his ears heard .. Taani was saying all this … he could never imagine a person could change so much ..

Seeing him so shocked she spoke again "Don't look so surprised .. both of us know that this is so common ..what's the big deal .. for the papers we are man and wife .. behind the closed doors who cares what you do .."

"Taani , you know what you are .. just a f*cking gold digging B*tch " he gritted …

Still it didn't affect her .. "Rey , our generation doesn't believe in "eternal love " blah blah .. I am sure Kria is after you for money or your status or your looks and yes physical need.. when these are satisfied am sure she will leave you .. and it must be same at your end too … " .. saying this Taani just left …

Rey was so shocked to hear this .. for a moment he felt he didn't have a tongue and he couldn't reply back .. He had never seen nor thought about Kria in that sense .. he had genuinely felt for her .. initially it started as a friend .. he admired her .. respected her .. and now loved her more than himself ..

His mood was totally out .. he forgot to call Kria in the night to wish her …

He couldn't leave the next day as he had to talk to his Dad and Mom .. he had several discussions with them .. he tried to convince them that he was not interested at all .. he informed them about Kria .. he was serious about this girl ..

After a lot of debates .. his Dad seemed convinced and he said he would talk to Taani's Dad about it .. he assured Rey that everything will be handled by him .. he need not bother at all ..

Rey left .. he thought he had handled the situation .. no one had bothered him about the whole fracas which happened … so he thought the matter had died down ..

Rey's Dad came to meet him .. he sorted out all the differences they had between them .. Rey's business venture .. Kria .. everything .. His Dad was in favour of all .. he was ready to help Rey in everything .. he wanted to meet Kria .. know her .. Rey told him everything about Kria .. His Dad was very impressed by Kria .. and he assured Rey that he would meet Kria alone .. Rey didn't suspect anything at that time ..

When Rey and Kria had a fight and Kria left him , he realised there was some problem .. his Dad and Taani both arrived uninformed .. he called up Malhotra uncle to find out the reason …His uncle found out from his sources that Taani had threatened to call off the business coalition which they were getting into if Rey and she didn't get married .. Rey's Dad was at the loosing end.. there was a lot on stake .. so he asked Taani to visit Rey and apologise ..

Then his Dad was gonna talk Kria out of the way .. His uncle had told him that they could stoop to any level .. Rey now understood that his Dad must have been very nasty with Kria .. that was the only reason why she lost her temper and was rude to him ..

Rey had been infuriated on hearing all this .. he wanted to get Kria back .. but his uncle refrained him from doing it .. He knew that Taani could do anything to get Kria out of the way .. he also told Rey that if he broke the engagement with Taani .. then this would be a sensational news .. and Kria would get involved unnecessarily in all this .. she is already going thru a lot of pain and to top it all media would be behind her like hungry wolves ..

So he outlined a plan … that Rey should behave as if he has broken off with Kria .. he should be on friendly terms with his Dad and Taani .. then get involved with some other girl and then tip off to the media .. and this automatically would lead to his calling off the engagement .. His uncle was sure that Taani would definitely put private investigators behind Rey to find the truth .. so his uncle had warned him not to meet in public or in private with Kria for anything ..

Even though this hurt him a lot .. he knew he would never meet Kria till everything was settled .. he believed that his love for Kria was everlasting .. he knew Kria was shattered .. she needed him .. but he knew he had to be away from her .. it was for her … for them ..

Cindy had been roped in for this act … She was Rey's friend and she agreed to help him .. then everything went as per the plan .. Taani was enraged when she heard about Rey cheating on her .. she had filed the case against him .. His Dad tried another of his tricks to get him back by relinquishing him .. but nothing mattered to Rey .. he stuck to what he believed in .. that was his love for Kria .. he knew he would eventually win ..

His uncle even though was working with his Dad .. was helping Rey in all these legal hassles .. It had been very trying for Rey the last 6months .. he was continuously hounded by the press .. he knew he was being followed .. secretly his pictures were being taken .. he had to visit India a few times .. legal matters can't be sorted out thru this long distance.. but his uncle was there to support him all the time ..

He knew now in another month or so .. everything would be settled .. the media had already branded him a Casanova … a guy who played with Taani's feelings .. now he was the rebel in his family .. he was against his Dad ..he was named as the young blood who was not serious about anyone or anybody's feelings .. didn't have family values .. but Rey was cool about all these accusations .. he knew what mattered to him was just that one girl .. this was the girl whom he had unknowingly said that "If she holds his one hand , he can conquer the world with the other " ..

Now he realised what it meant to him .. he knew he had to win over all this hurdles and then get back to her.. win her back .. she was and is the only one who would matter to him till he dies .. No matter how much pain , humiliation he has to bear .. he would do it with a smile .. just for her .. only her ..

Good that both understood each other very well.

Loved d bonding of Rey n Kria as usual.

Flashback scenes were brought out really too well..

Taani...poor rey just escaped ifnt I cant imagine his situation with her😆😆.

Good that Rey's friend agreed to help him out of the matter.

The golden fact I loved from the update is Rey kept Kria for making her out of the fuss he was already in.
