I Hate Arnav SO Much Now :| What Will Khushi Do ?! 🥺
This chapter is going to be solely from Arnav's P.O.V.
His sister did not even look up from what she was doing and acknowledge him. That's because she no longer recognised him. The only two names on her lips were those of Shyam and Khushi. Arnav's blood always boiled when Anjali uttered Khushi's name because it took him back to that day. The day he lost his sister'
The doctors' had told him that his sister had lost her mental stability. And the shock from the incident had meant that her mind was constantly stuck on that very day. And as far as her speech was concerned there was nothing wrong with it physically, it was just that psychologically something was preventing her from speaking.
He sat facing her and knelt down. 'Di' he said and looked at her with lost eyes hoping his mother like sister would recognise him. But she did not. She just stared at him. 'Chalyeh Di main aapkeh liyeh apka favourite khana leh aye hoon' and with that he helped her up and into the large dining room of the institution.
He sat there and watched her eating methodically with no expression on his face. She just did what she was told when she was told. She merely existed now she did not live, she was not alive. There was no soul left in her anymore there was just a body, a shell of a life that once lived life to the very fullest.
Losing your mother once is hard enough. Having to learn to survive without the one person who would love you unconditionally is absolute agony. You wake up one day and realise you no longer have the security of your mother's lap to take all the stress and difficulties away. You no longer have your mother's loving hands upon your head, de- stressing you after a difficult day. You no longer have your mother's shadow following you wherever you in a protective manner. No one looks to see if you've eaten. No one nags you to clean up your room or anything average like that anymore. Its funny how in life you always take your mother for granted. When they nag you, you wish that they would just go away. But then when they do leave you, you would give anything to have them beside you again in a heartbeat. Arnav had not been a stranger to this feeling. As he too had lost his mother. And that too, as a teenager. As teenagers most if not all teens always feel as if they kknow best, as if mothers' know absolutely nothing. But then ten years from then most of those teenagers look back in retrospect and realise that though they did not know it at the time their mothers' were right back then. That too was a feeling that Arnav was no stranger too.
But one thing that happened to Arnav that did not happen to a lot of teens was that he had to experience that pain twice. Once when he lost his mother and the next time was when he lost his sister. Atleast when he lost his mother he could always find solace in the fact that his mother was now finally at peace. But with his sister it was another issue altogether. Every time he came to the institution and saw his sister lifeless and soulless a part of him seem to die each time.
He watched as his sister finished eating and just sat there. He realised that she had been observing him whilst he was deep in thought. How things have changed he thought. In the past if he had been lost in any thought Anjali would have known straight away what was bothering him or what he was thinking just by his expression. But now. Now things where different. Now Anjali herself looked like she was constantly in a daze.
Knowing he could not see his sister like this anymore he got up and helped her up. He then helped her clean up, packed up the containers and took her back to the garden. He placed her on the bench with the rest of the residents and made his way back into his car.
He could never stay at the institution with his Di for more than an hour because it tore him up to see his sister like that. Sitting in the car he finally released the tears that had welled up inside him from the second he set foot in the institution. It was a daily ritual for him. He would go there every day and take food for Anjali. Some days Anjali eat within half an hour. Those were the days that Arnav would spend talking to her for half an hour before he left. But on days like today when it took her a full hour to eat he would wait with her and then take her back to wherever she wanted before he left. And each day he left he would give her a kiss on the forehead and leave hoping that the next day would be the day that his sister woke up from this daze. And once that was done he would ealk into his car and sit there and cry. Cry from anger, pain, frustration, helplessness, loss, loneliness, heartache and abandonment. Never would he let anyone know of the pain he carried inside himself. Never would he make himself vulnerable and open to hurt ever again. That was why he chose to sit in his car and cry. No one came to wipe his tears but he preferred it that way as it meant no one would make him fake promises to love him and be there for him when he needed them. He did not need to be lied to like that anymore he had had that enough to last him a lifetime.
After his release of tears Arnav finally fixed himself up and drove to his house. The one good thing about being one of the top business tycoon's in all of India meant that he had a lot of house. So, whenever he did not feel like getting another earful from his father Arnav would simply spend the night in one of his houses. And once his mother had died and his Di had been institutionalised his father did not really care where he was.
However during the period of the time that he had been married to that girl he had had to compromise with his freedom. He could no longer get away at night like he used to before he was married. She would call him up wondering where he was and inform him that she was waiting up for him and so he should get home soon. At lunchtime she would always call him up and remind him not to get so lost in his work so as to forget about lunch. When he used to go home at night she would be waiting for him. And sometimes he would go home so late that he would find her asleep sprawled on the sofa waiting for him. Often he would have to carry her into the room. As he used to carry her he used to be able to see that the table used to be laid out in the dining room with food. She never did eat without him.
Where most husbands' would be elated that their wives loved them so much he loathed it. He hated having her breathing down his neck and snatching his freedom from him. He hated how two faced this girl could be. Khushi had been the reason why his life had turned upside down. She was the reason why his sister had been institutionalised and every time he looked at her he would be reminded of that fact.
In bed at night she would always take one of his hands and place her cheek atop and she would take his other hand in her own and hold it in a death like grip and fall asleep happily. But each night she went to sleep with a smile on her face Aranv would lay wide awake disgusted with himself for letting such a piece of filth touch him. But what could he do he had no choice. He had to act like he loved her so that he could in turn destroy her. Just like she had destroyed his sister. She would have a fate worse than death.
Each time Arnav had found himself warming to Khushi all he had to do was close his eyes and picture his sister in her current plight and that would be enough. Enough, to bring his hatred back for her with a lot more vengeance than before.
He walked aimless through the empty house from room to room. Its funny thought Arnav how he had more houses than a person could dream of having. Yet despite that there was not one house he owned that he could refer to as home. That's because none were home. The only house that had felt close to home was the one he had shared with her. But he pushed that thought out of his head quicker that it had occurred to him. Disgust shock through his veins and he cursed himself for thinking that he had a home with her.
As he had nothing better to do Arnav made his way up the stairs and into his bedroom. He got into his bed. Despite not wanting to he could not help but acknowledge that his bed felt empty as if something, or rather someone was missing. Almost as a reflex he put out his hand and expected her to take it in her own and rest her cheek on it. But then he turned in the bed and realised that no one was there on the other side.
Though Arnav had thought that he done quite well and not managed to like Khushi or permit himself to fall her he could not help the fact that he had become accustomed to her. He had become accustomed to finding someone waiting for him as soon as he got home every day. He become accustomed to her holding onto him every night in bed and so without her he felt bare in bed. But he fought with himself and made himself believe that he had just become attuned to her. That was it. There was nothing more. And there was definitely no feelings involved. And after convincing himself of that matter he closed his eyes.
But it seemed once he did close his eyes that girl did not leave him. She had begun to haunt him in his dreams too. When he closed his eyes all he could see was her face and how broken she looked when he had pushed her away when she had announced she was pregnant and walked away. He bolted his eyes open and sat upright on the bed. 'Curse you Khushi Kumari Gupta! You think you have won but you have not. I swear to you on my Di's life I will not let you live in peace even for a second!' said Arnav through clenched teeth. And with that he picked up his mobile phone and began to put his plan in action'
Okay so this chapter was little hard to write. It was very emotional. As a child who has been deprieved of a mother's love from a young age I am no stranger to what some of the characters' in this FF must be feeling. I just hope I incorporated these feelings well enough in this chapter. Please do comment and let me know your views. And do scroll down for the next chapter 😊Originally posted by: lastdesire

Chapter 7:
'Hello. Its Arnav Singh Raizada here' said Arnav. 'Ek ladki ayeh tumhari paas jaga mangeneh ke liyeh. Make sure oseh kahee beh rehneh ke jaga nahee milleh. Aur ha shyad voh yeh kahehgee ke voh pregnant hai and all that but I do not care. Make sure keh useh kahee jagan nahee mileh rehnekeliyeh. I want her out on the streets! Sumjeh?' said Arnav and with that he placed the receiver down and went to sleep with a smile on his face…
The next morning came and Arnav came to and heard the hard lapping of the rain hitting his window panes. He did not want to get himself out of bed. It was one of those days where you just want to stay curled up in bed for good. But still he had a company to run and so he got up and got ready for the day. He went into the bathroom and began to brush his teeth. As he was doing so he opened the window and stared out of it whilst he brushed his teeth. It was raining cats and dogs outside. Despite not wanting to his mind started to have a flashback. 'Arnavji chalyeh nah barish main kelteh hain said Khushi'. 'No Khushi tum janti ho keh I hate the rain' said Arnav. 'Please?' said Khushi and made her way to him and dragged him out into the rain. He did not protest he played in the rain with her.' He had convinced himself at the time that he had only done that then to prove his loyalties to her so that she was completely trapped in his love. But now when he thought about it he had actually enjoyed himself then. He had had fun with her. He had laughed and actually meant it wholeheartedly. Suddenly the sound of hailstones brought him out of his trance and he felt annoyance at himself for remembering that filthy girl and believing that he had enjoyed himself with her.
He finished up in the bathroom and went downstairs to the dining room assuming that breakfast would be waiting for him. But then he saw the empty table and realised that that girl was not there to do all that for him. For the last few months everyday without fail when he woke up and went downstairs breakfast would be set out on the table for him. He had grown accustomed to that also. And now it was no longer there. He hated himself for thinking about her. And the more he thought of her the more he hated her. He blamed her for coming into his thoughts. He blamed her fall that was wrong in his life. He had done since that day. He went into the kitchen and grabbed himself something to eat and then sat down with his laptop to get on with his work for a few hours before he went to visit his Di….
Meanwhile, Khushi had struggled to find a place to stay all night. If she had been by herself then she would have slept anywhere. But she was not by herself. She had another life attached to her own now and that was life was the one that took priority over her own. And so for the sake of that life she had done the one thing that she had sworn she would never do in her life. She went back to the Gupta mansion.
Timidly she knocked on the door. It had her Amma that had opened the door and had called Shashi immediately. They both stood looking at their daughter who was dripping wet and shivering in the rain. But rather than let her into the house immediately they set about taunting her first and then informing her that if she was to live with them she would have to do whatever they told her to from then on. And the first thing they said to her was that she had to leave 'the infidel'. So when she informed them that he had left her they were more than happy and because of that they had given her a roof over her head for the night.
Khushi had awoken the next morning in her old bedroom. It felt like she had not been in that room forever. Yet everything remained the way it had when she had last been there. Her room had been her haven. It had been the place where she had sat and daydreamed during the daytime and where she had slept and dreamt during the night. Countless memories were joined with that room. Countless innocent memories of a young girl who was so desperately waiting for her prince to come and whisk her away. The only difference was that she was no longer innocent. Well at least not in the eyes of the 'society'. In the eyes of society she was a characterless woman who had run off with a non- Muslim and had lived with him in sin. And now she was carrying the result of that sin in her womb. Khushi was stuck. She knew that she would have to tell her parents about her pregnancy soon because if she did not then there would be hell to pay later. And she could easily compromise with her own life but not the life of her child. Because that child was the only evidence that she had left of the best time of her life.
And so slowly Khushi went downstairs and entered the living room where her parents were discussing a new political plan with Payal. With her heart in her mouth she said 'Amma, Bauji hum maa baneh valeh hain'. And then she shut her eyes tight in fear of what would happen next.
But what surprised her was how calm her parents were. It was as if they were expecting something like this to happen. But then Shashi said to her 'tumhari paas do rasteh hain abb ya toh tum iss paap ko girvadoh ya phir yaha hum kahain vaha choop chab shaddhi kareh jao'. Khushi was shell shocked. She could not fathom how easily her father had managed to say that to her. He had said it like her child was some toy she could just throw away rather than a human being.
Khushi knew that the first choice that she had been given was not even an option. She could not get rid of the one symbol of love that she had that contained a part of her husband in it. Not only that but the second she had found out that she was pregnant at that very second she had become a mother. At that very second she had vowed to protect her child always. And she was going to do so. Therefore she had no other choice but to accept the second option.
Deep inside she always believed one person to be her husband and had given that one person all rights of being her husband too. Never would she allow another man to take her husband's place. Though she knew deep inside that her husband never accepted her as his wife and never would she still guarded that place for him. Because she had this firm belief in her heart that her husband would be back one day. She had faith that her love would be strong enough to bring him back to her.
Khushi knew that sometimes you have to compromise with circumstances and that was what she had to do right now. And so she said 'theek hain hum shaadhi karneh ke liyeh tayar hain' and with that she made her way back upstairs to her room. Khushi hated what she was doing but she knew that she was only doing so for the life forming inside her. She was completely helpless now. She had no money, no job, no support and no home. This was all she had now. Khushi was no well and truly trapped. But she knew she had to stay strong. She had to stay strong for the life that was growing inside her…
