Its just that

whatever has happened in the past left him with a jerk

Only a person whose has broken his heart would know how painful it is to bear the pain of separation

You and i can't comprehend it

Experience is one thing that leaves a deep impact on people u c

So to overcome the effect of experience is hard

Here rey's reaction is very natural actually according too me

For example u probably won't hate ur friend after a big misunderstanding and separation

But u will never again tell her ur secrets or share ur feelings with her

Mayb what she did was becoz of some acceptable reason but it is hard to accept her/him
