Part 34

The light on the operation theatre turned off. The doctor walked out as he took off his gloves. Surya and Gayatri stood up and ran to him as Angad moved his wheelchair closer to them. " Doctor..how is Kripa?" He looked at Surya as he asked him with hope in his eyes. They doctor placed a hand on Surya's shoulder. "Mr Sharma, your daughter is...." Surya looked at him, scared to death himself.

The doctor continued. " I'm sorry Mr. Sharma but....youre daughter is no more." Surya pushed the doctor away and fell back on the bench. Youre daughter is no more. His heart had almost stopped beating. Angad looked at the doctor still.

"What? doctor something is wrong. nothing can happen to her. She had promised me that she wont ever leave me alone. she can just..."

The doctor kept a hand on his shoulder. " Please Mr Angad. there are somethings that are out of our control. she is no more." No more. no more.....He couldnt beleive this. He just couldnt. He had to see Kripa once. " I want to see her."

The doctor nodded and Angad slowly got up from his wheelchair, almost falling. When Dilip rushed to help him, angad held his hand out and stopped him. "I dont need your help Mr. Khanna" He limped his way into the ICU.

He stood in front of Kripa. Her eyes were closed and he looked at the machine that was monitoring her heart beat. All he heard was a long beep that didnt seem to end. He sat down next to Kripa's bed. Kripa please wake up. please open your eyes. I know youre just trying to annoy me right? But please...please dont do this now. I love you kripa. please open you eyes. Please tumhare iss Angad ki baat ek baar maan lo. please kripa. I promise I'll prove that I love you when you wake up.

He held her hand and cried to himself. Hopefully she would have heard him. But she didnt respond. The doctor came to him and placed a hand on his shoulder but he didnt respond to the touch. " Please control yourself Angad. You have to stay strong and face the reality. Kripa Sharma is no more."

Angad let go of her hand as soon as he heard that. Her hands fell to her side, lifeless. Angad got up but still looked down at the floor and then at the motionless Kripa.

Angad looked at the doctor leave and then watched the nurse move to Kripa and pull the white sheet over her face, officially declaring her dead. Angad felt his heart slow down now, almost as if he was getting a heart attack.

When the nurse asked him to leave the room as Kripa's parents wanted to see her, Angad walked out, still in his own thoughts. She cant leave me...

Angad sat down on the bench outside. Gayatri looked at him now. There were no tears in her eyes. She was too shocked to cry. Angad looked at her for one second and then looked down now. He felt like her eyes were accusing him for the loss of someone so special to them. The Only daughter, Kripa.

Before Surya and Gayatri could go in, the nurse kept coming out, almost yelling. " Doctor please come in fast. Her heart started beating again." Angad quickly looked up and then tried to stand up as fast as he can but felt his legs gets weak again.

He took hold of himself and watched hope return to Surya's eyes. Surya ran to the door of the ICU and looked in as the doctor treated Kripa. At this point, she was getting fits.

Her unconcious body jerked up and down on the bed. Surya turned away and walked away, not being able to see her state.

The doctors walked out of the ICU one more time. It had been almost 9 hours since they were attending her. Angad was still sitting on the bench, now with no expression on his face.

Surya was sitting next to him, yet paying attention at the door. Gayatri sat next to Surya, leaning her head on his arm. All their eyes were fixed at the door, waiting for the doctor. When he did, Surya and Gayatri suddenly got up but Angad didnt. " Doctor?"

" Mr. Sharma relax. This is a miracle. Her heart stopped beating and we all thought that she was no more. But I think Mr. Angad's love for her brought her back. You should thank him."

Surya glanced at Angad but didnt say anything. He held the doctor's hands again. " Doctor Kripa ab kaisi hain?"

" Mr. Sharma she is still unconcious so we cant say much. But we hope everything will be fine. We have managed to take all the glass parts out of her brain but..." Angad waited for him to continue. " But there is still a piece of glass embedded deep in her brain and I'm very sorry to say but...we can't take the risk to operate on it."

" Now what?" The doctor held Surya's one hand and then patted his shoulder with another. " Dont worry Mr. Sharma. There is still a good chance that nothing will happen to her and hopefully that glass piece didnt damage much. But I want you to know the complete truth. We dont know to what extent Kripa will be normal again.

She might just wake up and be the same again. Or she might wake up and not even remember you guys. and then there is a chance that she might not wake up."

Seeing Surya get a shock again, the doctor nodded his head reassuringly. " But! only if she wakes up in the next 24 hours. That is our last hope. If she doesnt wake up in the next 24 hours or so, it would just mean one thing. That she will slip into coma. and after that, no one can predict when she will be waking up."

The color disappeared off Surya's face. He rubbed his forehead with his finger. " Good Luck Mr. Sharma" The doctor left to go take care of more formalities.

She might just wake up and be the same again. Or she might wake up and not even remember you guys. and then there is a chance that she might not wake up.

Angad rested his head back on his bed. The doctor had forced him to get back to his room after he had spent almost 12 hours in front of the ICU. He was counting now. Only 22 hours more before Kripa had to wake up. I cant just sit here and think about it. I need to do something. But what?

He made sure the nurse wasnt anywhere around and then quickly got up and sneaked into Kripa's room which was just down the hallway.

He opened the door and looked around at first. When the coast was clear, he walked in and sat right next to Kripa. She was still unconcious.

He took her hand and slowly kissed it and then closed his eyes and rested his head on her hand. " Kripa please wake up"

She still didnt move. He took a deep breath and rested his head down on the bed, right next to her waist, still holding on to her hand.

He woke up when he felt something move. Like someone was touching his hair. He slowly opened his eyes and felt his hair move again. He got up with a jerk and smiled.

It was Kripa. She was awake. He looked at her take her hands back really quickly. Those exact hands that were brushing his hair a while ago. She looked at him smile but she didnt move. Angad quickly grabbed her hand again and kissed it gently.

" Thank god youre awake!" She still looked at him like she didnt know him. Was this true? Had she lost her memory? Angad didnt know what to do. Scared, he quickly got up to go call the doctor.

" Angad!" He heard her whisper in a low voice. He smiled as he stood at the door, facing the other way. She remembered him. He suddenly turned around and looked at her. He rushed to her side and looked at her innocent face that smiled. " I love you Kripa!"

He quickly sat on the bed and hugged her. She felt really awkward and then repeated hesitently. "I love you too Angad." She ran her hand on his back gently and closed her eyes. " Angad my head is hurting..."

She tried to breathe and he immediately let go of her. "I'm sorry Kripa. I'll go get the doctor." Kripa silently watched him run out of the room and then closed her eyes again.

"Ok take a deep breath again." Kripa did what the doctor said as he checked her pulse. " OK now try to remember what happened two nights before. Do you remember why you are here?" Kripa looked at Angad and then back at the doctor. " No I dont."

Angad looked shocked and then turned towards Kripa again. The doctor nodded at Angad gesturing him to calm down.

" Ok Kripa. do you remember him?" He pointed at Angad. Kripa smiled and nodded her head. " Ofcourse I remember him. He's my best friend!"

Angad smiled this time too. She remebered. That was the best thing to him right now. He sat beside her again, stroking her hand as he held it.

The doctor continued. " Kripa tell me the last thing you remember happening." Kripa closed her eyes and tried to remember. " I just remember my senior prom and..." She looked at Angad. " Angad is our graduation over already?" Angad let go of her hand this time.

"Graduation? Kripa we just finished our first year in college." Kripa looked at him like he was crazy for a minute and then smiled. " Angad tum bhi na. ab tak mazak karne ki aadat nahi gayi."

Angad looked at her, astonished at what she was saying. " Kripa mein mazaak nahi kar raha. I'm serious. " Her smile changed to a shock. College? But we still didnt go through high school graduation. We just went to the prom last week and...whats going on? She took Angad's hand in hers.

" Angad please tell me youre lying. I dont even remember graduating and youre saying we finished our first year in college. you are lying arent you?" Angad frowned and then looked at her doctor.

Dr. Mehta held his hand up and gave him a its-ok-i'll-handle-it look. Angad nodded and the doctor looked at kripa. "Kripa do you not remember how you got here at the hospital? You dont remember the accident?"

" I dont remember it!! whats going on Angad? why are you guys asking me so many question??" Suddenly she held her head and moaned. " Doctor my head is hurting again!!!" The doctor quickly called the nurse in and asked her to take care of Kripa as she rested. He gestured Angad to take a walk to his office with him.

" Angad she's completely fine." The doctor placed a friendly hand on his shoulder again. "Then why doesnt she remember college. I mean she remembers me but..."

" Angad it often happens that victims to such accidents get partial amnesia. She might remember something but then another thing could be completely wiped out of her memory. In this case, she has forgotten everything after her senior prom. Angad there is nothing really to worry because most people get the memory back with a few months."

The doctor nodded again and shook his hands and walked into his cabin. Angad limped back to Kripa's room, thinking at the same time.

She doesnt remember anything that happened between us. Those moments we spend together. Our engagement, our first kiss, our feelings for each other, our.

Suddenly he realized something and sat down in the first place he found. She doesnt remember that she in in love with me.........

OK so here was the next part. I know it was a little sad but this was the major twist in the story. Hopefully all of you will leave comments. Remember the more comments, the faster I type. lol

awwwwwww!! i totally hate dilip! n kripaz stupid zid n angad being stupid while driving! grr lolz!! awesome parts!! i feel sooooo bad for angad! awesome twist thou!! it waz really unexpected!! continue when ever u can n dont stay up late just to continue we understand ur human just like the rest of us n we noe u have other things to do as well!
