Chapter 4: The life wihtin

Look Mr.Raizada your fuming is not going to help anyone'please calm down and let us take it from here

The Doctor tried forcibly to separate Arnav's hand from khushi! "No I am staying with her"

The doctor screamed "if we don't treat her soon SHE WILL DIE." As soon as those words hit him he stepped back.

The doctor came out of the OT and asked him if there is any other family as well'Arnav felt the world halting'

Relax! The doctor said, she has lost too much blood so we will be needing blood donors.

Is someone in your family O negative?

Arnav scream, YES I am please take all the blood u need just save her.

Arnav was taken out of the hallway and pulled away from the OT and taking to the lab for blood donation session. Upon finishing he came running back to witness a crying Bua ji and Amma.

When Bua Ji saw Arnav she screamed, "How can u let this happen"'I thought after all you have done you will at least NOW take care of her. Because of you once again she in pain, she is DYING. Bua ji had found out when the Pandit Ji called home and explained the whole ordeal. Bua ji knew he would take her to the best hospital in Delhi "The Delhi Presbyterian hospital"

Arnav stood in shock and guilt because he knew this was true'he wanted the earth to unwrap so he could bury himself and hide from the pain her hurt was causing.

Bua ji charged forth and yelled'Due to you she is gonna die'

She was so happy that day when she called me, she assured me that everything will be fine!

When you left her like that for London we knew something was wrong, but she being our sankadevi took all the sufferings herself. Tell me she charged "Kya kiya hai tumne iskay saath?" (what have u done to her ?)

She screamed it was best if she had never meet you, from the day she has u have ruined her life, taken away all her happiness, please have mercy on her condition now and get out of her life.

Those words struck him like the lightning'Bua ji was right I have done this, I need to let her go, I need to go far from her.

The Doctor came out and walked towards Arnav and said , "Look Mr.Raizada she is still in critical condition, but we hope that she will react towards the medicine." Right now she is physically far too weak." Can I see her? Arnav begged

Look Mr. Raizada'pleases just for a minute please'the doctor nodded please wait till she is shifted to the ICU.

He opened the Door to the ICU'and seeing her small delicate figure swathed by IV lines he let out a streak of tear. He walked up to her and gently picked up her hand and fell to his knees, he placed a gentle kiss and spoke with the lump in his throat.

Khushi please, please Bua ji k liye, Amma kay liye, Payal, Di, Nani sub tumse itna pyar karte hai please for their sake stay here. Please Khushi I will never return in your life, I will go far from here. The family is all yours'.I will leave forever; never show you my face again. I will live only if u are. Please prevent my khushi from breaking apart. Please bring her back'.

He got up and placed a gentle kiss on her forehead'and he said to her "one last time..."

Khushi I am leaving forever'.

Arnav with heavy dragging feet went out to the hallway.

He stood there for what seem like eternity but it was just one day of staring trough the small ICU room door panel.

By now everyone had gathered into the hospital! His Di stood beside him offering him water, or to sit down but he was in a Trance. He felt like if he left she would somehow as well. He needed to see her just look at her even if from a distance.

The doctor came out of the ICU once again and said she is responding much better now'we think she shall recover, there has been some damage to her kidneys but we do expect positive results. She is actually slowly gaining conscious. So Mr.Raizada no need to ask you can be the first to see her.

However, the doctor was in shock when Arnav turned around and started towards the exit.

Arnav realized it was time for him to leave, he knew if she was around her he would only cause her more pain. She needed to be free of him.

He reached home and ran into the shower he turned on the ice cold water and tried to rub of all the blood on his hands skin, it was everywhere. He felt numb the cold water tensed his stiff muscles even more. But he wanted this pain. He ran his finger through his wet hair and placed the other hand against the shower wall. He opened his eyes as if something struck him. I know the reason behind this'She did not want this, I forced myself onto her. I have made her weak. His face now stern like ASR but I will make sure that before I leave forever that she is once again Khushi Kumari Gupta the women he so dearly loved'

Khushi finally woke up and slowly opened her eyes. Everyone came forth to see her, she felt guilty seeing all their faces. No one said anything for they knew now was not the time. However, her eyes were fixated on the Door'Searching'she suddenly became angry and yelled, "Please leave me alone for some time." She could have sworn he was there! But once again she realized her weakness and became frustrated on herself.

The Doctor come back inside, and spoke gently to her. How are you feeling'

He sat on the stool adjacent to the bed and spoke softly, "Mrs.Raizada" she cut him its Khushi'

So Khushi consider yourself lucky that Mr.Raizada got u here just in time

"What he was here, where is he" her tongue slipped, he has left already I believe.

The doctor noticed her eyes tearing up.

"He left again she whispered"

See Khushi you should understand the consequences of what you have done'you have caused pain to your family, and most importantly to yourself. Now I have some good news for you that I thought was best shared with you first.

"You are about a month Pregnant"

What????? She screamed but in joy. The doctor saw the life return in her eyes.

"Is my baby fine, what have I done, doctors please tell me!"

See your kidneys have taken damage so your pregnancy can be complicated I am just amazed that you did not face a miscarriage, it's quite a miracle. Consider it a blessing I suppose. Take some rest now.

The doctor got up to leave and she spoke, "Doctor please don't tell anyone about this, and I mean anyone" the doctor nodded and left.

Lying alone in that room she brought her hand to her belly and a let out a tear.

She spoke to herself but she knew her baby was listening. "I am sorry Baby, please forgive your mama, I promise I will never hurt you again. You are now my reason to live and you are my world. I know I have been weak but now you mama will give you everything; I will be your mother and father'she felt a bulge in her throat. I will not be weak for a man who does not give a damn about us, if we mean nothing to him then he is none to us."

But she knew it was gonna take some time to heal not just the wound on her wrist but the one in her heart. She closed her eyes and fell asleep to wake better and soon to take care of her baby.
