Translation for Part 1
There was a sharp knock on the door.
"Khushi bhabhi..." ,Hari Prakash called for the second time,slightly worried.
She looked at the door and then proceeded to unbutton the shirt.
Then came another knock and a louder call from HP.
"M coming Hari Prakashji!" she replied as she threw the shirt on the bed.
A sigh escaped her mouth as she stared at the white shirt and then turned away to open the door.
Khushi:What happened?Didnt I tell u that I am not hungry?And niether do I want tea.
HP: Anjali ji and naniji are calling u downstairs.Naniji has sent a message that the sareewala has come and she has asked u to go there and select a saree for urself.
Khushi: Please tell them I'll be there shortly.
As she was about to close the door,HP interrupted her.
HP: Oh bhabhi,I completely forgot! Anjaliji had asked me to fetch her book of aarti from the poolside table.So,can I...?
Khushi stepped aside: Sure!
As HP was about to exit the room,his eyes fell on Arnav's favourite white shirt lying on the bed.
HP: Does Arnav bhaiyya's white shirt need ironing?
Khushi: No.
HP: Then,shall I give it for washing?
Khushi: No Hari Prakashji,I'll see what has to be done with the shirt,now please leave!
HP nodded solemnly and stepped out of the room.
Khushi: Hari Prakashji,plz stop!
Khushi softened up upon seeing his downcast face.
Khushi: Plz forgive me,I shouldnt have talked to u this way.I... actually my head hurts,so..
HP: That's ok,I can understand.Can I say something?
Khushi:Plz do..
HP: When u scold me like that,I am instantly reminded of.. Arnav bhaiyya!
The faint smile immediately vanished from Khushi's face.
HP: Its been days since I've heard him scream/shout at me. I am..
Khushi: Hari Prakashji, di must be waiting,plz tell her m cumin in a while..
HP nodded and left.
No sooner had she closed the door than she ran to the bed and crushed the shirt,his shirt to her chest.
Khushi: Its been total 18 hours since I last talked to u.Do u even remember that two days later its a special occasion?
She looked at the shirt and then threw it on the bed in mock anger.
Khushi(looks at the shirt) :If u dont return within two days,then I will... (tears well up in her eyes) I wil... I...
She is interrupted by the ringtone of her cellphone.
"Arnavji!!" Khushi beams as her husband's name flashes on the screen.
Controlling the urge to bombard him with questions,she answers the phone with a "hmmm", spoken in a rude,unfriendly tone.
Arnav: What the..!?
Even as she smiles upon hearing the trademark what the...?!she keeps her tone unfriendly and answers..
Khushi( dramatically): What do u mean by what the..!?
Arnav: What do u mean by saying hmm?
Khushi: Leave it,u'll never understand what m trying to say anyways!
Arnav: Khushi,stop the nonsense!
Khushi: Waah,waah! Look who's talking! Mr. Raizada,I should be the one to be angry and look at u,u are getting angry on me?!
She is unable to control herself and thus the dam of questions breaks.
Khushi: Dont u know that the mere mention of London gives me jitters?Last time u started for London our lives had turned topsy turvy! Hey Devi Maiyya! M scared anyways,on top of that u keep postponing ur return to India!And now if u'll stop calling me can u imagine what my state of mind would b like?Just think about it..
Arnav: I know,m sorry Khushi!M so,so sorry!
Khushi:Why didnt u call after last night?Leave aside calling,u didnt even send a message! Earlier u used to call me ever three-four hours,but since last week I noticed that u call less often. Why so?Do u know how I've spent this day?Do u realize how badly I wanted to talk to u and was waiting so eagerly for ur call?I couldnt sleep the whole of last night..
Arnav: Khushi,calm down, okay?
Khushi: Calm down! U have only this answer for all my worries,dont u?
Arnav: Khushi,listen,I was damn tired last night hence the moment I stepped in my room I fell asleep.When I woke up this morning,I realized I was very late for the meeting,so I didnt have the time to call u then.And now when I finally could call u u r not talking properly to me!
Khushi: Y should I talk to u?Do u remember what falls two days later?
Arnav: Ya Khushi,I do remember that its our first wedding anniversary two days later. I promise,I'll spend the whole day with u,okay?
Khushi:Plz forgive me Arnavji,but in the last few days,u've made a lot of promises and then broken all of them,so I cant trust u again!
Arnav: Ok fine,then u can talk to Aman..
Khushi(interrupts): Dont even take his name in front of me!
Arnav: Y?Now what has he done?
Khushi: Whenever I ask him,Amanji,when will u and Arnavji return,he gives different answers! First he said Khushi bhabhi,we will return after 11 days.Then..
Arnav: Wait! Did he call u bhabhi?
Khushi (bites her lower lip): A.. ya.When u r not present,he calls me bhabhi!
Arnav grits his teeth.
Khushi: Leave all that aside!My problem is that he never gives me the right answer! First he said we'll b back after 11 days,then he said we have finalized a new deal so now it will be 25 days. U had left on 12th of last month,today's the 6th,25 days r over!So when I asked him today when u'll r returning,he said Sir has signed two more deals,so we'll b back after approx 10-15 days,which will be around the 22nd of this month!
Arnav smiled as he thought how well Khushi could imitate Aman!
Khushi: I dont believe a word that he says,nor do I believe u! Its still 15 more days to go till the 22nd and I cant wait for that long! If u dont come back by the night of r anniversary then..
Arnav: Then!? Then what Khushi?
Khushi: U decide what punishment u want!I'll wait for u till midnight. If u come back by then its fine , if not then...
Arnav: If not u leave straightaway for buaji's house and stay there till the 22nd! And I promise, niether will I try to meet u,nor will I call u nor will I send a message! Its my word!
Khushi(thinks): What kinda punishment is this!? Is this a punishment for u or for both of us?
Arnav: And If I come back by midnight I promise, I'll make it the happiest day of ur life! But then ull have to do wht I say. Game for a bet?
Khushi: Yup,m game!I never like to loose,but yet,this time my heart wants that I should loose this bet!
Arnav: Even I want the same Khushi. I promise,this will be the most beautiful loss of ur life like the Sangeet loss was the most beautiful loss of my life!
Khushi blushes as she hears that.
Arnav: Hold for a second.
Khushi: Arnavji? What happened?
Arnav: Khushi,I need to go 4 lunch,let me call u back.
Khushi: Plz dont go!
Arnav: Khushi,I have to go. Shehnaz ma'm must b waiting for me.
Khushi gets really angry upon hearing the name.
Khushi: Whats with u and Amanji chanting Shehnaz ma'm's name every now and then? Sometimes,I fear that.. that..
Arnav: That?
Khushi: That she.. you..
Arnav: What?
Khushi: Arnavji,tell me the truth,is she really pretty?Is she fairer than I am?

Khushi(sighs): Plz come back soon Arnavji! M waiting for u..
Arnav: I'll come back very soon,I promise hmm.. I love u!
Khushi: Me too..
Arnav: Khushi,complete the sentence,will you?
KhushI(blushes): I love u a lot!
Arnav: Better! Bye!
Khushi smiles as she ends the call,her heart singing with renewed hope. Maybe Arnavji would keep his promise this time around...
