Chapter 2
Arnav was waiting impatienly in the waiting area. He wasn't used to this. He never had to wait. For anything. Uggh!
Akash sitting beside him was busy texting someone. Or shall I say "sexting"? Bilkul bade bhai pe gaya hai!
"Akash, we need to focus here."
"Sorry." He said shoving his phone back into his pocket.
Arnav glaced at the clock. It had only been 10 minutes and yet he was getting impatient. God, this was going to be a long afternoon.

"Mam, Mr. Raizada has arrived. Should I send him up?"
"No. Tell him an photoshoot that was planned for 5 had to be rescheduled for now therefore he'll have to wait."
"Alright mam."

Akash was dwidling his thumbs and Arnav was on his 5th glass of coffee.
"Arnav, don't you think it's weird how there is only women working here."
"I know, but hey I got a hot blonde's digits. Hooking up tonight.?" He said as he pulled the napkin with a lipstick mark and a few numbers scribbled out of his pocket.
"You bas***d!" He joked. "How did you manage to do that?"
"I asked for coffee and when she brought it back, I sipped it, and then kissed her hands."
"Don't tell me, 'This coffee is amazing but I'm sure you taste sweeter' line?"
"Yep, that's the one."
"Seriously, I might be good but your better."
"No Akash, I'm the best."
He glanced over at the clock.
5:00 pm.
What was this? She made him rush over here and now she's not ready for him.
"Excuse me, how much longer will we have to wait?"
"Ms. Gupta told me that a photoshoot's timing was suddenly changed therefore she has to attend that right now, you will have to wait a bit longer."
"WHAT THE!"
He lost it.
"Where is Ms. Gupta right now?"
"I'm sorry sir I cannot give you that information right now."
"I'm going to ask you again. WHERE IS MS. GUPTA?"
The receptionist was shaken. "F-First floor. Room-m 104."
"THANK YOU!"
He picked his laptop bag up and charged for the 104. Akash followed shortly behind.
He barged inside to see a bunch of models with professional business clothes on.
"Collection for Working Women: 2012" said a random forgotten paper on the floor.
Taking a better look at the models, his mouth watered.
Shay Gupta could wait.
One specific model caught his eye. He wondered how she could make that simple piece of clothing come to life with her beautiful milky hands. He fantasised how it would feel to have those beautiful limbs tangled with his.
He walked over, a bunch of pick up lines prepared in his head.
"Excuse me."
The model turned around, her silky smooth hair, brushing across his face.
God.
Beautiful was an understatement. She was downright gorgeous. Maybe he could hire her to model for his company (and him) later on.
"Yes?"
What was he supposed to say? What was that stupid line!
Fikar not. Baba Arnav had a line for situations like this too.
"Gosh, your so beautiful you made me forget my pick up line."
"Shut up and tell me want you need." the immediate reply came.
Wait! He knew that voice!! He'd know it anywhere! That was sexy bed voice!!

Oh SHIT! He was screwed.
"I'm s-sorry. I a-actually f-from the AR Industries. Mr. Ar-Arnav S-Singh Rai-Raizada. I h-had an ap-pointment f-for 4:30."
Darnit! First time in his life he stuttered in front of a girl! This was going to make an amazing first impression no?
"Well didn't my receptionist tell you that I have to take care of this photoshoot first? It's a bit higher on my priority list now if you don't mind, can you get out?"
"S-sure."
"And who told you I was here? Was it Cathy at the reception? On your way out, tell her she's fired."
"Wait no! I sort of intimated her into telling me, she's not at fault here. I'll go if you need me to go, it's alright, I'll leave."
He turned around. He was a player, but he wasn't a kameena. Why should that poor girl lose her job that fed and clothed her family because of a short-tempered business man him?
"Wait!"
Did sexy bed-voice just tell him to wait? Or was he hearing things too? Cause it would pretty darn stupid if he turned around and no one called out.
"Are you deaf too?"
Ok this definitely sounded like Ms. Gupta.
"Yeah,"
"Um.. You could wait in my office.. I'll err... I'll be up in a few. Room 306, third floor." She said pretending like she was focusing on her papers.
"Thanks."
What the hell just happened?

What the hell did she just do? Ugggh!!!
Frustrated with herself she climbed marched out of the room to the elevator.
Why the hell did she still have a soft spot for kindness when every goddamned person knows that nothing of such sort exists.
Especially in men.
They are always after a much bigger prize and these are all sham acts of kindness to make them look good.
It's not like he actually cared if Cathy lost her job or not.
But then why did it feel like for a second that he did.

"Do you get why she changed her mind?" Arnav fiddled with his tie.
"I don't know, maybe when you turned around she gotter a better view of you a**?"
"No. If she was in for sex, there is no way she could resist my pick up lines."
"Not every girl likes pick up lines." Akash stated, still texting his "friend".
"How would you know?"
"Because bhai," He looked up from his phone. "I've met a girl like that."
"How long did she take?"
"Still working on her."
"Akash, don't tell me she's the one your texting."
"Well yeah, she's nice and I think I actually want to give 'us' a real shot, at friendship, I like being around her, she's fun."
"There we go, we've lost another Raizada." he sighed in disapprovement when he heard footsteps.
"Alright Akash, we have to convince her."
"Got it.".
And then she walked in, her hair now in a bun, no files in her hand, and the earings that weren't visable before, now dangling down her ears.
"Good afternoon." he offered.
"You're time ends at 'Good Evening' which is in twenty minutes. Please cut to the chase."
Fiesty. He liked fiesty.
"We are here to offer our clothes to be sold at your boutiques and we are willing to offer them to you at a discounted price."
"Wasn't it clear in the rejection letter how exactly I felt about you clothing. There is nothing extraordinary about it and every thing at The Shay House of Fashion has to have an X-Factor."
Now this was more like it. She was following the plan perfectly.
"We can have you select the designers to design our clothes before you buy it. You can even select the theme for the new line."
She inwardly smiled to herself. Let's see what else he could offer.
"What discount are you willing to offer?"
"60%" Akash answered.
"75%" Arnav cut in.
Now this was more like it.
"I must say you do know how to get your way Mr. Raizada, I think we have a deal. But I have one last request."
"Whatever you want."
"I want you yourself to put the following property in my name."
Property? That's what she wanted? This was going to be hell of a lot easier than he thought.
"Sure."
"It's in upstate New York," she said as she wrote the address. "Here," she handed him the piece of paper.
As he read the paper, his heart stopped for a moment.

Why was Shay Gupta suddenly so interested in forgotten land. Especially this one. He couldn't. Despite his desperation, he knew what he had to do.
