Part 4 (a)

Sharon's sleep was disturbed when her alarm clock blared. She got up feeling no excitement for the new day. Rubbing her eyes she turned to stop the clock when she saw a note pasted on her clock. The note read-

'Get up Sharon and get ready. I am coming to pick you in one hour- REY.'

"Gosh!!! When did he come and what's all this???Rey is psycho.. he came here yesterday when I was asleep.."She said to herself. Once again looking at the note she smiled a little and went to get ready.

She got ready and went downstairs. She sat in the drawing room while Ramu kaka gave her coffee. Sipping the coffee she thought of Rey. Rey her childhood friend. They did almost everything together right from going to school, going to swimming classes, doing homework and many other. But the period which is distinct in her memory was the period after her mother's death. The grief was too much to handle for her but Rey was always there for her. And that's when their bound became stronger. They share intimacy of best buddies. For her Rey was like a friend cum brother.

She was so lost in her thought that she didn't see him coming.

"Booo…."he shouted in her ear making her jump a little.

"Rey!!! What the hell nobody has taught you to knock the door before entering???And what is all this note and all haa?? And where are you taking me???"

"Oh Sharon kitna bolti ho tum….anyways I was never taught to knock the door and the note was a surprise for you and where I am taking you is a big surprise." He said in one go.

"Rey you are mad."

"I know that Shaggy.."

"Shaggy???"

The name opened the door for memories of her childhood. She along with Rey used to play detective games in that they used to make their mothers hid their pen or pen box and they both used to find it acting as detective finding clue and all. They were inspired a lot by Scooby doo cartoon. So she used to Shaggy and Rey used to be Scooby ( just because Rey was foodie as Scooby.)

"Remember our old game, Sharon?? I wanna play it today."

"Okay Scooby. So what have we lost that we are supposed to find???"

"Happiness ."

"Happiness??" She looked at him with confused eyes. But Rey just nodded.

"Yes Shaggy. But before that I want you to keep your hand on your heart and feel what it is feeling."

She obeyed him and placed her hand on her heart. Her heart was bereft. It was feeling empty. It was injured. She looked at Rey and said, " Rey.."

"No Sharon. Don't tell me anything . Now lets go."

"But where are we going???", she asked.

"Do you trust me,sharon???"

"yes."

" Then don't ask questions." Saying so he dragged her outside. He had brought his bike with him.They both wore helmets and set off to MISSION HAPPINESS.

The road was familiar to Sharon but she had no idea where was Rey taking her. Rey brought his bike to halt and that's when she realized where she was.

"School!!!" She said removing her helmet.

Rey parked his bike and they stood in front of the huge gate of their school. School building was a stone construction surrounded by stone compound. Dividing the compound stood a huge gate with a board on it which read-

' St. Xavier's Primary and Secondary School.'

They went inside. The premises was empty today because it was weekend. Looking at School she felt old memories gushing inside her mind. It was like walking down the memory lane. The School building was still the same with that large bell hanging on first floor. Her eyes moved to the ground. Their School had large ground which was divided into a basketball court, cricket ground and a grass tennis court.

" Tennis court!! Rey do you remember how we used to play against each other and you always used to lose.", She said.

" Girl I bet you wont be able to beat me now."

"Oh please Rey, don't challenge me. Anyways we won't be able to play as we don't have racket and ball."

"But we still have hands and legs.." He dragged her to the court. They stood on either side of the net. Then Rey started acting as if he was serving the ball. Sharon also took her position and acted as if she was hitting the ball. They played like this laughing and shouting. After sometime they came near the net and did a proper handshake.

"Tough luck buddy." , Sharon said.

"And who said you won??"

" I said." She said making a face and started laughing. Rey was happy to see her like this. He said, "Clue no. 1 Shaggy is OLD MEMORIES. And now place your hand on your heart and feel it."

Once again she obeyed him. She felt something new in the way her heart felt as compared to morning but the feeling was positive. She looked at him. He just nodded and said, "Lets go.."

They once again hit the road. This time Sharon didn't think about her destination but just enjoyed the ride. Rey parked his bike near a small gate.

" Oh god this is the same park where we used to come after the school...OMG Rey..".He smiled at her and went inside. She followed him and said, " Rey now don't tell me that we are going to play here. I mean it is meant for small children."

"I don't know about you but I am small."

There were many slides, swings, see-saw in the park. Some children were playing on them. Rey went and started playing on slides. Sharon looked at Rey and she couldn't resist herself. She went on the swing. The children were amazed to see a big girl and a big boy playing like small children. Seeing the children amused Rey and Sharon went towards them and introduced themselves. One of the boy came forward and asked them, " so we are friends ??"

"Yes." Rey said. The children were happy that they got big friends. They played hide and seek with the children. After sometime Rey and Sharon wished them goodbye and went outside. While wearing the helmet Rey said, " Shaggy, Clue no. 2 is Friends. And now your heart." She placed her hand on her heart and felt that somebody has assured her injured heart that it was going to treated. It was going to heal.
