"Come, you'll like this song," he whispered.

There was this devastating half-smile on his lips that melted her but she avoided his eyes. Khushi knew she would lose her self control if she looked into them. Just as they reached the dance floor, the song started, surprising her. It was her favourite song!

Finally, she looked up into his grey orbs, only to drown herself in their depths. She felt his hands on hers, pulling them up behind his neck before snaking around her waist, encircling her, yet keeping space between them for her comfort.

Khushi's heart was racing. His eyes were smoldering with desire and it scared her. But she could not look away.

She suddenly felt herself being pulled flush against him and her breath hitched in her neck as she gasped in surprise.

Arnav felt her stiffen in his arms but he could not help himself. She was too beautiful tonight. They started ball-dancing together, while the dance floor filled itself with more couples.

He twirled her in his arms gently, everything feeling dream-like.

Khushi's eyes teared up. This song contained so much hurt she always cried when she listened to it, and that day, dancing with Arnav, the love she had lost to her sister because of herself, she really felt the pain.

A tear spilled on her cheek and he felt his own eyes moistening. He wiped her tear away with his thumb.

His hand closed around hers as soon as the song ended and he pulled her with him, out of the hall.

"They're going."

"It's high time," Anjali whispered back to Shaan as she watched her cousin tow Khushi outside. "It's high time they sorted their problems out..."

"Chhote?"

Anjali patted Arnav's shoulder. He sat by the poolside, his back against the side of the black metal recliner. He merely tilted his head in response, but nothing more. His eyes remained on the waters of the pool which lapped at the edge.

"Kya hua, Chhote?" (What happened, Chhote?)

He shook his head in silence, worrying his sister even more. She decided to pull his leg a bit. She sat down beside him on the recliner and played with his hair.

"Kahin humaare Chhote ko... pyaar to nahin hogaya?" (Is it that my Chhote has... fallen in love?)

Arnav reacted this time. His head snapped towards her, his jaws clenched.

"Di, I don't love Khushi," he said, his voice dangerously calm.

Anjali froze. "Chhote?" He turned back to the pool.

She realised he was indeed in love. And in denial of it too. She laughed. Someone really needed to open his eyes.

"Chhote? Aapko sach mein pyaar hogaya hai!" (...You've really fallen in love!)

Another giggle escaped her lips and she clapped her hand on her mouth in awe.

"To uska naam Khushi hai?" (So her name is Khushi?)

"I told you, Di! I don't love her!" he replied through gritted teeth.

Anjali smiled at him. Arnav Singh Raizada was really a hard nut to crack. She shook her head and went back to her room. He would have to work it out himself.

"You think I love her?"

Anjali looked up from the novel she had been reading.

"Hmm?"

"You think I love her?" he repeated, stiring inside to sit near her on the couch.

"Voh to aapko pata hona chaahiye." (That's for you to realise.)

"Di!"

She threw her head back and laughed. "Humein lagta hain... haan!" (I think...yes!)

Arnav's face paled. "But... Di... I did not... I tried not to but..."

"Chhote," Anjali squeezed his hand. "Love will never come at your will, it just happens, and you don't even realise it."

He frowned. "So... what do I do now?"

"Kya? Chhote-" (What?...)

"What if she does not love me?"

"Can a girl resist you, Arnav?"
