I have read many stories in which Arnav comes to his sense... realises his mistakes and tries to mend what he broke.

But no where... NO WHERE have I read such a unique, hatke route taken. Bas!

I dont know who Castiel, Dean or Sam are.

But I am thankful to Castiel for answering Khushi's prayers and kicking Arnav where it hurts most... first by taking him to an alternate universe and then by showing Khushi's death.

I thoroughly enjoyed Dean's character. He can use his tongue to both joke and pass cutting remarks.

About Sam... I wish him all the best 😊

Now to Arnav's alternate Universe... everything is opposite... Khushi is a lying, cheating, arrogant woman, her parents are rich and couldnt care less about anything, Anjali doesnt care for anyone or anything but money, Payal is no seedhi saadhi and Aakash is wasted too, Buaji is no good soul and Mamiji works till her back brakes, Shyam is a good soul and Arnav is of no importance.

I liked this: Shyam hates KKG in this world, so loves her in real world, KKG listens to Shyam here so in real world she doesnt.. NK and KKG have an affair here, so in real world they are just friends.

In this world KKG hates ASR so in real world she does.

Awesome way to establish Khushi's innocence and her feelings for Arnav.

So, then... better late than never and all is well that ends well 😊

Read this sweet short story first thing in the morning and truly, truly enjoyed it. Well written :-)

It was really different and I loved how you went all supernatural in knocking some sense into Arnav's head.

Chapter 5- She Is Evil

Arnav jerked awake as water splashed on his face, filling his nostrils and ears. 'What the hell!' he spluttered wiping his face as looked up to find Khushi standing with an empty jug and a stupid smile plastered on her face.

'Watch It Khushi!' He warned. 'It really won't do you any good!'

'Not my fault that you were calling out my name like a desperate lover' Khushi sneered in response.

Arnav did a double take at her words and clenched his jaws 'I did not'

'You did' Khushi glared.

Arnav noticed she was ready to go somewhere sporting a pretty white dress.

'Where are you going?' he asked surprised.

'None of your business' she retorted. 'What you should worry about, are those files' she said pointing at a pile of files cluttered on the side table. 'I want them done when I am back'.

Arnav stood infront of her blocking her path. 'Where are you going?' he asked again patiently.

'Arnav cut it out' Khushi sighed.

'Answer me first' he said with an air of arrogance. He knew that was the only way he could deal with her.

'God Arnav! I am going to see NK, now Move' she replied trying to get past him but failing.

'You aren't even ashamed to say that, what are you made of Khushi?' he asked surprised. 'Or maybe I don't wanna know' Arnav gibed stepping aside allowing her to pass.

'What's with you? You are making an issue out of nothing' Khushi sighed staring at him as if he had gone mad. She couldn't leave now, not unless she figured what was wrong with Arnav.

'I am sorry but aren't you the one having an extra-marital affair right now?'

'You always knew that Arnav, what's the problem with it now?' Khushi asked confused.

Arnav gulped realizing that there was way more to the whole deal than he had thought. So he was supposed to know that Khushi was dating NK. She could be easily lying but then why would she?

'Arnav seriously what's with you?' Khushi asked a crossing her arms together as she gazed at him.

'What would happen to me? You are getting late. Better hurry' he said non-chalantly hoping to end the topic here. He didn't want to talk to her now, anyways he couldn't stand this version of Khushi.

'No' Khushi stayed focusing on him now 'Eversince you have returned something is really off with you. I just remember that I yelled at you But that I always do' She shrugged.

'You said it, you always do, nothing wrong, Go now' Arnav replied getting agitated. One thing didn't change, Both the Khushi's were equally adamant! Arnav frowned realizing he just compared his Khushi with the one standing infront of him.

'Damn it! Tell me what's wrong!?' Khushi yelled turning him around as he kept looking anywhere but at her.

'Arnav!?' Khushi asked agitated.

'You don't know' Arnav began overflowing with emotions he had tried to keep at bay. 'You have no idea damn it! How thankful I am to God today, I was stupid, I was crazy. I blamed her for all that you do! Hell She is not even one bit like you. I see it now, when I have met you; Her compassion, her care, her love, her kindness, her purity!'.

'Did you hit your head or something?' Khushi asked confused. She didn't know what she could make out of the passion Arnav seemed to emanate from every inch of him. Those angry tears, that regret written all over his face. Suddenly the man infront of him was Alien. This man was not the Arnav she unleashed her hate on, he was different. He was in control, he was strong..in every sense and he was admirable.

'Who are you?' she asked finding her own question ridiculous. Clichd, as if taken from a movie.

'My world has been turned upside down' Arnav confessed hoping she would understand. 'I don't know what the hell am I doing here, I don't know you, and I don't know what's happening around me!'

They both stayed quiet for a while. Something clicked in Khushi's mind and she smirked looking at Arnav and his wonderful act.

'Oh no it's not that' She simpered with joy as if she had solved a puzzle. 'I get it Arnav being a second heir is a bit of a drawback isn't it? Worried I might divorce you and marry NK? That's why you are so bothered by him all of a sudden. FYI you needn't worry. We had a deal and I am sticking to it. Let me remind you that my marriage with you is revenge on Akash and I am not done seeing his sorry face everyday, he deserves every bit of the hell he is in. He two-timed me with Payal And then how can i ever forget! that good for nothing Akash told Garima and Shashi that I am spoilt, that I should be married to you and sent away! I knew he wanted the money, that he never loved me or Payal. Arnav I ruined Payal..i had her wasted, I snatched this empire from her. I have everything and even you know very well that the moment I end my marriage with you Shashi and Garima will take it all from me. So for god sake be assured I will not leave you. But Don't you ever again dare to interfere between me and NK, as it's none of your business!' She rounded on him and prepared to leave the room her shoulders squared. Arnav glared at her having had enough of her nonsense, he pulled her by the arm and kept her firm in his grip while she struggled to get away.

'Thanks for telling me how much Evil you have inside you, how you have always hated your family, how you have ruined Payal's life, because my Khushi is far different, infact she is everything But you' he said looking down at her in disgust with pride swelling inside him. 'So Thank You. Thank you for telling me everything and Believe it or Not, am not the spineless, gullible joke of a husband you have. I am not the one you used to boss around. And so Khushi Kumari Gupta' he stalled realizing that he had never spitted so much venom in her name before 'don't show me your selfish face again'

He let go of his grip and noticed the red rim marks on her arms, feeling not an ounce of guilt as he walked away in his usual brooding style glad that he had given it all back to her leaving her speechless by his fair warning.

A few clarifications - Arnav mentioned God. I have an odd notion that Arnav does believe in God, he is just on a battle, for all that happened in the past. I feel Arnav is blinded by what has been snatched from him, his childhood and parents, because of which he hasn't come to appreciate what he has been given <3 This is exactly what i planned for Arnav in this SS :)

And It was high time Arnav gave it back to Khushi fair and square ;)

Chapter 6- Because I Love Her

Around late night Arnav entered his room, having spent the entire day outdoors away from the crazy family. He had decided to do some shopping and most importantly buy himself some casual wear, inorder to get rid of the Khaki Kurta's.

Khushi jumped up from her bed as she saw him enter and came to an abrupt halt infront of him.

'What now?' Arnav asked exasperated. He had been expecting her to be fast asleep.

'What you said, is that true?' she asked with hopeful eyes. That's when Arnav noticed that she was in the same dress she had been wearing this morning, her shoes scattered at one corner, bag at another. Her makeup had come off at places but she looked fresh as if she had stayed indoors all day.

'Have you been here all day?' he asked placing his bags and spreading lazily at the recliner. It had been a tiring day, and his morning wasn't all that great given his argument with Khushi.

'As much I know that it will give you huge pleasure to hear a response in the affirmative, Yes I have been here all day thinking about your fantasy world'.

Arnav smirked at her response. 'Seriously Khushi when I said I don't wanna see your face, I meant that'

'And you would know me better Arnav, what makes you think I am gonna listen. Am done waiting, so about your fantasy world-'.

Arnav nodded his head lazily with his eyes closed. Khushi kicked at his shin and Arnav jumped succumbing to the pain. 'What the Hell Khushi!' he yelled.

'That's what happens when people ignore me' Khushi jeered in response.

Arnav stood up and towered over her. 'Get this over with alright, I said It's true, What more now? My world is not a fantasy, this place is some stupid alternate world! So Don't waste your time over me, I will be gone soon and this world will cease to exist!' he inwardly hoped with all his might.

Khushi tilted her head to one side as she studied him with curious eyes. 'Gone?' she scoffed. 'You think am stupid like your Khushi, If it were in your hands you would have been gone by now Arnav'

'Castiel will come and take me back' Arnav reinforced his words.

'I don't understand' she muttered softly stepping closer to him. 'Why are you so adamant about returning? You know Arnav I have always dreamt of a man like you in my life; Strong, smart, suave. Someone who can match upto me and it's you, I have got you now and am not letting you go'.

'I don't care' Arnav brushed past her, disturbed by what she had just said.

'You will have to Arnav' Khushi sighed pulling him by the arm so that he faced her. 'You have got it wrong, this is not an alternate world. This is your world, I am your Khushi. Think Arnav you might have wished for this! And now you got it!'

'I didn't wish for any of this! I will tell you the truth so get it in your head fair and square. Khushi wished for this, she wanted someone to knock some sense into me and it's not me who thinks so, Castiel said so'.

'Which only means she doesn't love you for who you are, she wants you to change your ways-'

'Enough of the talk, leave me alone' Arnav said crossly not having the energy to get into an argument again. He knew what she was trying to do, and he wasn't falling for her bogus words.

'Why can't you see it Arnav! She doesn't love you, why would you want to go back to her?'

'Because I Love Her'

'Fine! You have loved your Khushi all this while alright' Khushi seethed in anger disappointed that Arnav wasn't seeing things her way 'you have loved her even when you felt she was like me, Evil like me. So It's the same damn thing!'

Arnav sighed facing her knowing the only way he could get out of this conversation was plain talk 'No, it's not the same thing. What I think about Khushi is not what made me fall for her, not this face you proudly own, What made me fall for her was all that I could never see. You know why I want to go back so badly? I want to go back to my Di, my family who must be worried to hell right now, my Di who prays to God a million times a day only for me, to Khushi who stares at the stars by the window, I Love her because she loved me even when I was so mean to her, because she gave my family the respect and honour she never had to. Because even after all that I said, all that I did, she endured through it all. And most importantly, I want to go back so that I can make it all upto her, so that I can set things right. I don't want anything to do here because this is not my world, not my family and it's eating me up on the inside And trust me I will be gone from here, because I have learned my lesson.'

'Good luck with that' Khushi replied in a loathsome tone 'Coz as far as I know you are stuck with me'

'You don't love me Khushi' Arnav jibed. 'You still hate me and I know very well that you want to use me, coz the moment I leave, you will cease to exist. And you don't want that'

'Good that you learned it pretty quick' Khushi retorted. 'Didn't want you to think that I was begging for your love all this while'

Furious Arnav walked out. His hands trembled as he felt his blood surging through his veins; he swore he could have hurt Khushi real bad back in the room if he hadn't left. His legs trembled and he felt the urge to run, as fast as he could, and so he did. Keeping no track of time or place, he ran. He didn't know for how long he had been running, where he was headed, he just wanted to get away from this place, he wanted to get away from the light, from the city, from people. He wanted to go home.

As he ran he reached a point when all he could see was darkness around him, the grey sky with not a single star in sight and the city infront of him. Arnav realized he was at some sort of a cliff point and tried to will his mind to stop running, but his feet didn't seem to corporate.

Arnav shut his eyes as he felt his end coming near, when he banged into something hard. Rough hands steadied him and pushed him back.

'Whoah! you don't run with your eyes shut, genius ' came a sarcastic crisp voice.

'What the hell Cass, I have told you not to do that, where are we anyways?' the same man spoke seemingly annoyed.

Arnav's eyes flew open having heard the name this man seemed to be referring to.

'Castiel?' said Arnav roughly getting up. The angel looked the same as before, and the man with him, he looked like a biker going by his clothes, but he wasn't a junkie, his face was matured, and he was tough which gave him the edge of a soldier.

'You know this whackjob?' the man asked with a bit of humor etched in his tone.

'Dean?' Castiel spoke.

'Yeah?

'Shut Up'

Dean raised his hand in dismissal and watched the duo.

'Arnav' Castiel spoke in a grave voice. 'I see you are in no good shape'

'All thanks to you, You left me in this stupid world, Now take me back home!'

'Not yet' Castiel stalled 'There's lot more to this'

'I have had enough of it Okay!? I am not buying any of this shit about the lesson you wanna teach me, I HAVE had ENOUGH!'

'Seriously dude' Dean interrupted 'I don't know what's happening here, but I don't wanna go back deaf'.

'Just Shut Up' Arnav muttered 'Castiel?'

'Arnav' Castiel began 'I have been watching you, each and every thought that has crossed your mind has reached me. I heard you when you were yelling for me last night, I understand that you were disturbed but you weren't ready back then, you hadn't learned enough'

'What about now? am I still not ready, am I supposed to learn over my dead body? Coz sure as hell all that is left for me is to die living in this hell'

'We saw that' Dean jibed 'Few minutes back' he grinned staring down the cliff. 'Cass, is this the man you were talking about earlier?'

Castiel nodded in affirmative.

'Geez' Dean began staring at Arnav up to down 'Get him back home, we have got the world to save Cass, no time for chick flicks'

'Yeah right' Arnav yelled annoyed 'Think how would it be to be thrown into a place where your family is acting all plain weird'.

'Seriously! Shut up dude' Dean barked. 'Cass what are you waiting for?' he asked getting agitated now.

'Arnav would you like to know what happened to your family when you were here?' Castiel asked in a solemn tone.

'What? They were upset- right?' Arnav asked dreading the moment.

'Cass buddy, you aren't saying-?' Dean halted in his speech and nervously glanced at Arnav.

'It would be only wise, to have you see it yourself' Castiel sighed painfully and approached Arnav.

Dean looked around in alarm 'No! Not again! I am not going anywhere-'

But before he could finish Arnav felt his surroundings change and a horrible sensation seemed to be overwhelming his body.
