Chapter- 1

Garima sprinkled the Gangajal over all the members standing in the prayer room with hands folded infront of idols and then with everyone proceeded towards the dining area for the breakfast.

Garima serving everyone which included her husband and the apple of her eyes'..her two children: Aaj kaka sahib ka beta Arnav aa raha hai, hume wahan jana chahiye kafi samay baad use dekhenge,vilayat se aa raha hai pata nahi pehchaanega bhi nahi pehle toh poora din yahin raha karta hai. (Today kaka sahib's son Arnav is returning back to India'.we should go at their place it has been ages since we last saw him, he's coming from abroad, don't know if he'll remember us or not. Earlier he used to stay here all day) Garima said reminiscing, her smile becoming soft.

Shyam excitedly biting on his paratha "Arnav aa raha hai!!! kitna maza aayega hum phir se ek sath tafri karenge,tang karenge!!! Tu nahi mili na usse kabhi Khushi? (Arnav is coming!! wow it will be fun to be with him, we'll again hang out, have fun!!! You have never met him Khushi no?)he looked towards his fragile sister but before she could speak he himself spoke "Kaise milti itne saal chachi ke yahan banaras mein jo rehti thi? Aaj usse milna tujhe bhi acha lagega..(How could you have met him when you yourself was living with chachi in Varanasi? Meet him today you'll love him.)

Khushi meekly nodded and again started chewing on her paratha.Dressed in a simple pink suit, she was a replica of aurora. With innocence dripping from head to toe, she had the goods to charm anyone.

Garima announced: Chalo jaake taiyar ho jao hume nikalna hai'..kaka sahib se baat ho gayi hai wo intezaar kar rahe hai? (Lets go and get ready, we have to leave''had a talk with Kaka Sahib, he's waiting.)

Gupta's were welcomed by Kaka Sahib and his only daughter Anjali. Anjali looked for Shyam and then their eyes met as he came behind his parents. In their eyes anyone could see love blossoming and Khushi was the only one who knew about it. The gupta's entered except Khushi and Shyam as they stood beside Anjali at the entrance.

Mischievously Khushi hugged Shyam sideways and looking straight at Anjali asked "Anjali, how do you think my brother is looking today? Took special care and extra- extra time to get ready."

She earned a swat on her head by her brother while Anjali shyly hugged her when Khushi whispered "Missed you Bhabhi!"

Anjali's crimson cheeks turned redder after listening to the word "bhabhi". Khushi wriggled her eye-brows and gestured Shyam ko hug Anjali. Shyam himself turned a little red, he hugged Anjali and kissed her forehead. Anjali blushed profusely and escorted them inside.

The elders were in their own conversation while Anjali and Shyam were communicating with their eyes. Anjali pouted looking at Shyam and he understood she was angry about him not calling her up last night. Looking at everyone around, then at her he held his left ear in apology and was suddenly rewarded with the beautiful smile he had come to love. Khushi looked towards her brother and then at Khushi, her heart swelled knowing two of the most important people have found love true love in each other. Earlier Anjali was her best friend but now their relationship went deeper knowing how these both ladies loved Shyam. She sighed wishing if she could get someone who could love her as much as they were in love.

Suddenly she came back on earth when her mother asked Anjali : Beta Arnav kahan hai?? Use bhi toh bulao..(Dear where is Arnav??? Ask him to join as well')

Anjali pouted :Aunty, main nahi bulaongi wo aate hi sone chale gaye, mujhe uthaya bhi nahi'. main unse naraz hun. (Aunty, I am not calling him, he went off to sleep as soon as he came'without even waking me up, I am angry with him.)

Garima smiled and shook her head and then asked Khushi, "Khushi, jao tum chali jao use bulane." ( Khushi, you go and call him.)

Khushi was taken back. How could she go and call someone she didn't even know. How will she address him? she stammered, "par maa-" but was cut off by Kaka Sahib who said, " Haan Khushi, upar se dahine wala kamra uska hai." (yes Khushi, go upstairs..the right one is his room.)

Khushi mentally cursed herself for keeping mum and went upstairs. Within a second she was standing at this stranger's door. She knocked and getting no reply twisted the knob to enter inside. The whole room was empty when she walked further towards the side of his bed only to meet a pair of devil eyes. Oh no!!!!! No one had told her about this. This can't be happening. She was scared of dogs and especially when the dog resembled like an ogre, so huge!!!! She mentally shrieked. Holding her breath she started backing off in the opposite direction as the dog with calcucative steps and devil gleam slowly sauntered towards her. Gulping her saliva down, her feet dragged her backward, fist clutching her suit so tightly that her knuckles turned white.

Suddenly she hit a cold surface. Okay that's it! She was bound to die at the hands of a dog, trapped against a wall. Her fate could have been worse she tried consoling herself. Who was she kidding what was worse than being eaten by a dog, suddenly realising she could a shout and her family might make in time to save her. She was about to shout when the dog stopped and looked back somewhere beyond her shoulder. Before she could turn around an arm encapsulated her waist. In reflex she turned back and met with the pair of one of the rare almond eyes she had ever seen. Their eyes met, their first meeting. His eyes held amusement while her eyes went as wide as saucer in fear. Suddenly her eyes went down and she turned pink seeing his bare and wet glistening torso, with water droplets still lingering. So this was that cold surface!

She blushed realising how long she was standing close to him, she looked up at him with one more realisation. She was still caged in his arms.

She muttered nervously, not knowing who was the bigger threat to her, the animal behind her or the one who had her caged, "Ji woh-"

Arnav's eyes glittered and he asked, "You scared of dogs?"

Khushi nodded meekly when Arnav looked towards his dog and said, "Romeo go and sit" The dog wiggled his tail and went back to sit at his bed-sit.

At once Khushi jerked back out of his arms, her body still tingling with unknown sensations. Except her brother and father she wasn't familiar to such male proximity and somehow in his arms her body had started feeling funny.

Embarrassed she said, "Kaka is calling you."

Arnav brow's frowned: Kaka? Who Kaka?

Khushi: wo..wo aapke pitaji. (umm'um..Your father.)

Arnav credited himself and mentally gave his back a pat for not bursting out at her usage of "Pitaji" for father. He looked at her and suddenly she broke the eye-contact and before even he could even reply she fled off his room. Khushi held stairs while coming down and kept a hand over her heart to steady it. She looked back towards the closed door and her heart raced again with an unknown feeling while Arnav inside shook his head and muttered, "Typical Indian girls!"

haha khushi and shyam bro and sis...i always wondered wht would have happened in begining when anjali wanted khushi to tie rakhi on shyam's hand...:)
