Dev was surprised when Pallavi didn't welcomed him with her usual bright smile…she just opened the door & moved aside… somewhere her silence was killing him…He was waiting for some kind of expression… Even a know look would do…. but she did not speak nor did she look his way….just stared at the floor sitting on the sofa with her coffee which she was having before he arrived…

Dev –wats wrong?? (Pallavi just nodded in No) tum khanna house nahi gayi…

Pallavi (avoided looking at him)—who…doctor ke yaha late hogaya tha &…& just decided to come back here…

Dev—but we had decided …

Pallavi (interrupted) —haan we decided …par aap nahi aane wale the…I knew…

Dev—You knew …how…

Pallavi (instead of answering)—who main…aise hi..woh sab chodiye…you had said aap ghar pe baat karenge ….aapne unhe sab bata diya hoga…how did they react…

Dev –who actually…

Dev narrated & explained everything happened at the hospital how he stopped Maya from aboration & how he threatened…also he told he will be keeping an eye on her for coming days…so he will have to be with her till she signs the divorcee papers.

Dev was surprised after knowing everything Pallavi was still silent…she didn't asked anything…neither commented anything…

Dev(calmly) -- kuch kahogi nahin?(she still kept silent…Dev moved near her( took the cup out of her hands… placing it on the coffee table. Squatted down in front of her cupping her face and made her look at him) I know you are not happy hearing this…but kuch toh kaho…. do something….Scream, yell, hit...but atleast react…

Pallavi –mere kuch bhi kehne ya karne kuch badalega thodi…so wats the use??(the intensity with which she looked at him….made it difficult for Dev to look at her without feeling like a criminal although she never intended to accuse him) you have already decided, toh main aur kya kahoon…after everything she did to you…aap phir bhi uska saath dena chahte....its your call…Main kaun hoti hoon rokne wali… .(she got upto go…but Dev stopped her)

Dev—wats wrong with you Pallavi…aise baatein kyun kar rahi ho… (sighed) naraaz ho mujhse!! I know kuch bhi decide karne se pehle mujhe tumse baat karni chaiye thi…I shud have informed you but …It was just…. mujhe itna gussa aaya….the way doctor accused me… I felt guilty … I felt like Maya was killing a child because of me….(he shuddered) already she had killed one two years back…if only I had been careful & kept an eye on her…(paused for a moment) us waqt mere paas usse rokne ka aur koi tareeka nahi tha…main …I know main usse nahi rokta she wud have easily killed the child…galti Maya kare par uski saza us masoom ko milti… I was only thinking about that…(Pallavi walked towards the window…Dev walked upto her) Don't be so angry with me…I know you are not liking the delay but…

Dev felt like he made everything go wrong in an attempt to make something right….it hurted him for making Pallavi doubt him…

Dev (calmed her)—dobara aisa kabhi sochna bhi mat…Don't ever think I will survive without you… & I am sorry, really sorry…if because of me you felt like that…

Pallavi (hugged him tighter)—I am sorry too… I was being mean and selfish…..I shud have not thought like this… You were just trying to help her aur main …

Dev—am I forgiven (Pallavi gave a teary smile)…You just be with me…& I will be handle everything…

Resting her cheek against his shoulder she felt Dev's breath rustling her hair….

Next 2-3 days…Dev kept a hawk eye on Maya…he even moved in Mathur house…he went to office only when it was utmost necessary… He even had to cut short her meeting with Pallavi….she assured him its Ok…but Dev cud easily make out she isn't happy with the prospect…

In spite of the normal advise to pregnant women about staying happy and all Maya could not relax…The prospective divorce kept her alarmed all the time…& knowing Dev have prepared everything as he made Maya signed all the requisite papers that wud be needed for divorce…& as promised he transferred Mathur's uncle property in unborn's child name… She was still apprehensive abt her life after the divorce…

Finally Maya decided she will talk it out with Dev somewhere in her heart she wanted to believe that Dev will help her this time as always...she remembered what Dev had said in his every argument when she wanted him back… that he will be there to help her as a friend… Determined she walked upto Dev's study …

She needed to talk with Dev!!!

A week later

Pallavi's eyes fluttered open as she felt some noises in her room…& she got up with a start to see Prachi and more surprisingly khushi sitting next to her... & most importantly she wasn't frowning & scowling as she had been like in last few days … but she was smiling…Pallavi blinked her eyes thinking she was dreaming…

Khushi (chirped happily)—Good morning di…I thot you were always early riser…

Before Pallavi cud respond…Prachi interrupted…

Prachi—Get up sleepy head!!! & get ready…

Pallavi (confused)—Ready…kisliye…(she was abt to lie down again) waise bhi aaj Sunday hai no office…

Prachi—I know, aur hum tumhe office nahi le ja rahe…don't be lazy & get up….

Khushi (almost pulled her out from bed)—Get up…Otherwise, we're going to run late.

Pallavi (she was still shocked for khushi's changed behavior)—Late for what??

Prachi (giving her the saree & pushed her in bathroom)—Pehle ready hokar aao phir batati hoon…

15mins later she came dressed …Prachi made her sit in front of mirror & gave her the jewellery to put on while she gets her hair done…

Pallavi—Bhabi…plz atleast tell me whats going on!!

Khushi (blabbered)—nothing di…just your wedding….

Pallavi (was almost abt to fall off from chair)—My what??

Prachi (glared)—khushiii it was supposed to be surprise… (she continued with her work with her hair) & before you ask anything don't worry its with Dev only …(teased) oh sorry tumhare Mr.Khanna ke saath….(pulled her leg again) waise will it be "Mr.khanna" after wedding also…

Pallavi (confused)—par …bhabhi …we didn't even plan it yet, let alone discuss it…

Last think Pallavi knew, Dev had informed her 3 days back that he need to leave for London...& since then she had been trying to contact him...but no result... she still had no idea if he had returned back or not…

Khushi—Who hume pata hai diii…Relax will you…just get ready aap baki sawaal raaste mein pooch lena…it's a long way…

Dev anxiously waited at the wedding venue…which was a small temple near their farmhouse…he paced to & fro for him it seemed time wasn't moving wats taking so long to reach…

Rj(had to control his laughter)—ermm Bhai…Relax will you…Bhabhiji aati hi hongi…(Dev glared) I mean Prachi bhabhi…Pallavi ko lekar aati hongi…

Dev—yeahh but its been 3 hours…&

Rj—they are ladies bhai…taiyaar hone mein waqt lagta….ask us poor husbands kitna time lagati hai taiyaar hone mein… (to kabir) haina kabir bhai…

Kabir—Right!! & look they are here… Main maa ko bata deta hoon Panditji can start off with rituals…

Dev glanced at the steps of the mandir when Kabir said they are here & he froze. It was as if he could no longer breath…. There was Prachi, Khushi & ofcourse Pallavi …who looked completely splendid & b'ful … with her eyes downcast as she approached the mandap….

Pallavi walked slowly towards the mandap, trying to handle her sari with the utmost care….she knew that all eyes were on her and was afraid to look up…. But she did. As she cud feel Dev's gaze… Dev stood before her with her steady gaze on her… she stopped in her tracks, being held by his gaze….realizing that she was already nervous, Dev just softly smiled at her, reassuring her that everything was ok… But Pallavi was still confused why it was happening all of a sudden… Dev never told her abt the wedding...he hadn't yet informed her abt the divorcee...when did he came back & she had so many questions...

Leading her to the mandap, Prachi sat her down next to Dev and they began the rituals…. Pallavi couldn't get herself to look up, knowing that everyone present there was watching her…. No wonder all those brides were blushing all the time and looking down- maybe like her, they weren't used to all this attention….

Seeing her still lost ….Dev moved closer to whisper…

Dev—pehle shadi karle…phir araam se tumhare saare sawaalon ke jawaab mil jayenge…(Pallavi looked upto him & gave a smile & nodded in understanding)

Kabir came forward for the kanyadaan ritual…tears threatening to spill down her cheeks, realizing that she missed her parents so much now….She had always wanted her parents to be there for her when she took this big step in her life…. With moist eyes, she looked up at him and nodded, the mixed emotions emoting through her eyes….Kabir looked at her and gave her a kiss on her forehead, showering her with blessings of lifelong happiness…. (To lighten) kabir joked with Dev to make sure to keep his daughter happy!!!

Seven phere…. seven steps… and several mantras later…. Dev performed the last ritual of applying the sindoor & tying the mangalsutra….Giving a new name to their two year long relation & officially making Pallavi part of her life… Now both have nothing to fear & can acknowledge & accept each other's love in front of everyone…

After the family lunch at farmhouse…rest of them bid farewell to the newly wedded couple…asking them to be on time in evening for the reception….

Dev came back after seeing them off came back to find Pallavi still lost in thoughts sitting in the back garden…he walked upto her & sat beside her ….after a moment of silence Pallavi leaned in keeping her head on shoulder…

Pallavi—So, now will you break the suspense…

Dev sighed & narrated everything happened in last one week…

Flashback

Dev narrated how Maya had come up to him & confessed name of father of child…it was Rishabh Kaul …a fashion photographer….Maya also disclosed why exactly he wanted to abort the child….as after knowing the truth abt the wedding she had broken up with him…Rishabh moved to London… she tried contacting him to give the news but she cudn't get through…

Maya asked help from Dev if he cud help in anyway…as she cant take anymore stress & complications its getting too much for handle…& in future also, she might not be able to handle the child alone…

Dev --& if Rishabh accepts you back …R u ready to go back & leave me in peace…

Maya nodded in yes & agreed….

At the same moment Dev called up Mr. Verma to start off with divorce procedures…& Dev made arrangements for him Maya to meet Rishabh in London… Surprisingly Rishabh had instantly accepted Maya back knowing she is pregnant…infact he never wanted Maya to leave him…

Finally after settling everything…by the time he was back Mr. Verma gave him the final verdict of divorcee informing he now formally & legally separated from Maya…

Dev's first reaction was to inform Pallavi about it…but he wanted to surprise her & also he didn't wanted to delay the wedding …so he discussed with every1 at khanna house…On that very instant Khushi was first one to congratulate him & also apologized for her behavior all throughout… she even promised that she will look after all the arrangements…

Dev (sighed)—Happy Now!!! Koi aur confusion…(teased) now can I get a b'ful smile from b'ful bride….had been waiting for so long….

Pallavi—You planned everything mujhe kyun nahi bataya…(smacked him) dat was mean of you Mr.Khanna…how cud you…

Dev (teased) —will it still be Mr.khanna (pulling her closer) Mera saara plan bekaar gaya…I thot after so much arrangements it wont be Mr.Khanna anymore!!!

Pallavi (blushed)—I love Mr.khanna more!!!

Dev (amused)—oh really!!! But Its other way round…Mr.khanna loves you more!!!

Two Years Later

Two years had passed since Dev-Pallavi got married… as expected Dev-Pallavi's marriage did create some hurtful headlines in the tabloids and some interesting gossip for the society butterflies but after a certain point of time the gossip and headlines faded away…. With full support from family got them through the difficult times….Gradually their relationship was accepted by society too Pallavi got the place that belonged to her… she stood next to Dev for the rest of her life….

There life got complete with birth of the their twin girls Ridhi & Nidhi… who arrived in their family just a year back… Both were now walking and were mumbling quite a few words too…. They twins had become the life of Khanna house…everyone in the family adored them they were just too damn cute and adorable….

Ria was still darling of Dev, who had her own chemistry with Dev…Rj-khushi also have 2yrs old son Vivaan…

Ridhi & Nidhi got along with Vivaan & Riya & could spend hours playing together…

In all these years if Dev have slowed down on work to spend more time with family … but Rj worked more… it was as if his workaholic rubbed on Rj…

Sid got married to his Girlfriend Sneha few months after Dev-Pallavi's wedding

As for Dev-Pallavi their love for one another grew even more after the birth of the twins….Dev now would make every effort to be home as early as possible so he could spend quality time with his children and his beautiful wife…. But Rj-Sid pulled his leg saying now that he doesn't have any PA he comes back early…as Pallavi stopped working after marriage…

As with the twins around Pallavi always had her hands full and was constantly rushing around doing things….Dev constantly complained she doesn't give him attention… but Pallavi felt other way round as she felt kids got more attention from father than she got….

It was one of the day…Dev came home from work early …Dev was surprised to see silence around as it was something really not possible as with kids around house always bustled with noises…

Dev—Pallaviii …Palllaviii…(looked around)..Biwi...(wondered) arre why is it so quiet here?? Riddhi….Varun…sab kaha gaye??? (when he saw Pallavi came out of kitchen hearing him) ahh biwi there u are…(kisses her lightly on the lips) where's everyone?? Its quite unusual

Pallavi (giggled)—actually they are playing hide & seek ….when u called to inform you will be back early…aur Vivaan khushi aur bhabhi ke saath shopping gaya hai… & Ria, hid Ridhi & Nidhi aur mujhse kaha that I ask you to find them…

Dev (laughed)—Ohhh!!! I am good at hide & seek (walked around the house) 5min mein mil jayenge…(he called for the girls as he knew hearing him they cant stay away) Ridhi-Nidhi where are you…!!! (looks behind the curtains) kaha chupe ho??

Dev hears some faint giggling coming from under the dining table…he smiles and walks towards it…doesn't look under it…walks around it looking here and there…then suddenly crouches to the ground and finds Ridhi…sitting there crossed legged…with her back to him she continued to giggle …when Dev grabbed her from behind and pulled her out. She squealed and giggled loudly…

Dev--Ridhhi!!!! (cuddled her & kissed her on cheek) My sharaarti baccha!!! Table ke neeche chhupi thi…(she shakes her head about happily as if she understood what Dev said) ab Nidhi ko dhunde….(Ridhi nodded excitedly)

Handing Ridhi to Pallavi he looked for Nidhi… he continued to look around here and there…he glanced over towards the sofa and caught a glimpse of Ria…switching her hiding place. Dev walked over... stood over the sofa…to find him with his back up against it…grabbed her & pulled her out…

Dev—what you thought smart enough…. Aise hiding place badalne se you will not be caught….

Ria (cracked up)—Mr.khanna mujhe nahi aapko Nidhi ko dhundna hai…

Ria used to tease Dev calling him Mr.khanna as she many times heard Pallavi calling him same…so Ria too got habit of calling him Mr.khanna instead of Chachu…when she wanted to tease Dev…

Dev –I will find her instantly…I know her papa ki Papa ke awaaz sun ke daudi chali ayegi…(looks around).. Nidhiii….(he started searching again….looked all over the place..but failed to spot he) Nidhiii where are u hiding ….papa cant find you... Papa paas aajao…(thinking that she may be upstairs he was about to go up…. when he thought of looking behind the staircase. … There she was sitting quietly about to doze off…

Dev (smiled): Nidhhii (her eyes flew open) surprise!!!!! Papa is here!!! (she got up and ran straight to him….) Awww…my angel…yahaan chhupi thi?... (she pecked his cheek sweetly) Awww…u tired?

Pallavi—she just woke up an hour back …(trying to control Ridhi who was fiddling with her earring)

Dev—awww sleepy head…. (she raised her hands up & down…Dev knew what she wanted…so threw her gently up in the air and caught her…giggling away she scrunched her cute little nose...she loved Dev doing that and could never get enough of it)

Pallavi (smiled) --She really loves it when u do that…I think she just waits for u too come home and play with her…she is so quiet otherwise…naughty toh yeh hai…Riddhi….(trying to free her hands from her earring)…Bahut masti karti hai…enjoys running around with Ria & Vivaan…

Dev (settling down making both girls sit down) –dats coz Nidhi is like you shy & reserved & Ridhi like me…The prankster…

Pallavi (laughed)—of course like father like daughter…By the way hope u remember aaj sabne beach pe jane ka programme banaya tha…

Dev (puttng his arm over her shoulder)—yes PA sahiba…I remember, u stopped working...par tumhari adat nahi badli 😆😆😆 (Pallavi smacked him) sab wapis aajate hai phir chalte hai….

Ridhhi (seeing her mother smacking Dev)—My!! My… (Hugged Dev)

Pallavi (surprised)—what My??

Pallavi (shook her head & smiled)—ofcourse…& sorry for hitting your Pa-Pa…

At that moment Khushi-Prachi & massi returned from Shopping ….even Kabir-Rj returned back…

Dev—good sab time se aagaye…Beach pe jana tha na…Sid also called he will meet directly there…

As Dev got ready…Pallavi got the girls ready… while stood in front of the mirror buttoning his shirt when he noticed Nidhi standing there staring up at him…she looked on the table…then handed his watch….

Dev (laughed picking her up)—didn't I said she is like you…as you do in morning…handing me things…yeh bhi same (he cracked up…straightening Nidhi's dress) You look too pretty…

Ridhi who just got ready—Pa …Me!!! Me…. Pweety…

Dev—ofcourse you too darling…(kissing her cheek)

At the Beach

As they arrived at the beach Rj was first to drag kids out…rest family walked with all the picnic stuff….Dev was last to leave …he moved to boot to take out last few things when he felt someone tugging at his trouser leg…he looked down and smiled….

Dev—aww Nidhi... sab ke saath nahin gayi? (she shook her head…then asked for Dev to pick her up) Awww….my angel… Papa ke bina zara bhi accha nahin lagta kyun? …(she wrapped her arms around his neck tightly…)

As Dev reached to all of them Pallavi looked at Nidhi all snuggled up with Dev

Pallavi (smiled)-- Papa ki princess…just can't keep away….

Dev (teased)--Yeh aadat bhi bilkul tum jaisi hai…Nahi

Pallavi (blushed teased him back) --- I guess she enjoys being in ur arms like I do…

Dev (moved closer)—Really !!!

When Ria came up to them & dragging them to join the rest enjoying in water…

Dev pulled her closer and made her sit in front of so he could snuggle up with her…. He nuzzled her neck and whispered sweet nothing s in her ear…kissing the side of her face.

Dev-- toh kya hua? Whats new?... I was thinking…(teasing) …tonite u know…u and me….we ….

Pallavi (removing his hand which was playing with her hair) –Mr .Khanna …(tried to as calm as possible & not to show the effect he was having) u said tonite na…toh… toh abhi…Stop it Dev!!!

Dev (nuzzling her neck)— u mind? Me getting romantic…

Pallavi (laughing)—did I ever!! Par yahan…

Dev-- Toh aur kahaan… we hardly get time for each other now…You even stopped coming to office…. (sulked) hamesha bachon mein busy hojaate hai… I miss u sometimes…don't u miss this big baby of urs…even he needs a lot of care and attention u know…

Pallavi (sheepishly)—in dat case I apologise!!! But u understand with kids…time kaha chala jata hai…aur phir main…

Dev (interrupted)—don't need to be sorry I was just kidding!!! I understand…mein toh bas aise hi keh raha tha…. (wind blew her hair into her face… so he tucked it back behind her ear) these kids are the greatest gift u could have given me…if u brought a change in me…& made life b'ful…kids made life more than beautiful never imagined my life to be so beautiful…. and its all thanx to u….

Pallavi (kissing his cheek) --& I cant thank you enough for coming in my life…

Dev—you can say thanx in more better way…

He was about to kiss her when they were interrupted sweetly by Nidhi…who came & flung herself b/w them soon joined by Ridhi…

Pallavi (got up laughing)—Tough luck Mr.Khanna…(moved away to call back all & wind up & head back home)…

Dev (shouted back)—Mr.khanna will have all the luck tonite (winked)

Pallavi just walked away smiling…as she watched back kids having fun with Dev…& Dev to enjoying himself she closed her eyes and thanked god for blessing her with such a beautiful family… and prayed they would always be together forever….

Years back when he came to Mumbai she never thought she will find her life, her reason to live here, her family , now her kids… when she fell in love with Dev…she always felt that it wud never be possible to be together….but now they are together… and prayed they would always be together forever….

As they returned back kids dozed off after all the excitement…as Pallavi made them sleep in their rooms… she was abt to turn back when she came face to face with Dev…

Dev—both asleep… (pallvi nodded in yes) good dat means…we can have a few moments to ourselves (picks her up) our date tonite on terrace is on!!!
