Hey Everyone!

Hello Diary,
Back again with a few more entries! So where had I left? Hmmm... Oh yeah! I started speaking!! Thank God for that! All this cootchie cootchie-coo nonsense of adults was really beginning to get on my nerves. They are grown ups- you'd think they could talk to each other properly!
Anyways, mum was ecstatic with joy and declared that I am just like my dad and she would bet anything his first words were Whatda too! But I sort of doubt it. Cos I'm sure he wasn't as bright as me when he was little considering he's still not very smart...
To tell you the truth, I wanted my first word to be my name 'Ashar' and I had practised speaking it till I was perfect. I was going to hit them with it in the morning but when dad picked me up and tickled me, 'Whatda' left my mouth without so much as a warning. Oh well!
And Dad? He couldn't believe that I had started talking so suddenly, he looked delighted and a little upset all at the same time. Its not surprising- I'm not even one yet and already I'm about a quarter of the way to matching his complete english vocabulary. I just have to now work on saying words like Enough! Get Out! What the hell? and a couple of more words and then I'll will be able to match his english vocabulary. No wonder he looked distraught...

Spent day playing with dad. Well, when I say playing with Dad; what I really mean is watching Dad playing with my toys. He made two garment companies, one out of toy cars and one out of furry animals. Of course the company named AR won by making more successful deals but I think I dozed off when the deals were still under negotiation. And woke up with a start when Dad yelled in a triumphant voice with a smug grin etched on his face, "Take that Mehta group of Industries! You Useless excuse of a company! And remember no one can ever beat Mr. Arnav Singh Raizada!" My dad's so full of himself, its amusing to watch and laugh inwardly.

My first birthday's coming up! Went shopping with mum and dad today! And I thought for once mum would buy me some groovy gear for a change. Something in black and white maybe. But was there even a hint of black? Was there even a hint of white? Nope! Not a jot. Not a smidgen. Instead, Mum's hit upon a great idea. Ashar is to wear... Purple! PURPLE! Can you believe it?!
Dad is supposed to be running a top fashion industry and he lets mum do this to me?? And that too on my birthday?! Life soo isn't fair!

Despite all my screaming and shouting, i still got decked in this poncy purple dress. But I guess I should be grateful for small mercies. Atleast she didn't bought one with poms poms all over it.
Dad spent more time doing his hair that day than mum to get ready! Mum was bursting with happiness that day, kept pinching my cheeks and cooing all day long, "My Handsome little Rajkumar is one now!! You grew up so fast, hain na, mera laddo!"
Yes, I know its so embarassing to be called a laddo in front of people! I wanted to crawl in a hole to avoid the people looking at me with mocking smiles on their faces. And a 'Whatda' unconsciously slipped out of my mouth. But not in the husky, low voice like dad instead in a squeaky high pitched voice. But don't worry, I'm working on saying it exactly like him so that it sounds intimidating not cute!
And to make it worse, everywhere I looked there was a pesky photographer. I couldn't do anything without being snapped. Lunch- snap snap. Have a good old burp- snap snap. Drool (deliberately) all over my gear-snap snap. You get the picture!
And can you believe that after all my expectations and more to the point after I'd spent absolutely hours getting ready- Lavanya Aunty's Daughter, Sarah wasn't even there! She was in England. What an oversight...
But on the other hand, its absolutely brilliant that Sarah didn't see me in this purple dress. She'd go right off me and might even go for a younger celebrity. I've heard that Prince William of England is a bit of a charmer. Thank God he's already taken and anyway I think he's a wee bit old for her but I've got to be on the look out for competition.
To be honest though, I shouldn't be too hard on my folks as they did lay on a pretty classy bash. And it was amazing to find the effect my smiling has on girls. One cheesy grin and they melted like butter!
But best of all were Mum and Dad. They gave me loads of lovely presents, including a baby Ferrari by dad. Its awesome!! Always wanted one! And it has Ashar written on the number plate. How cool is that! I bet Sarah doesn't own a personalised Ferrari! She's gonna be impressed!
And to my utmost horror, a heap of multi coloured dresses from mum. They've given me everything I want (and a few things I didn't want, like that purple dress) and to top it off they'd blown over a lac rupees on a party for me. It doesn't get any better than this.
