Part 7

Next weekend

In the evening Neha called up Kriya. After talking about some random stuff for a while, she finally came to the point.

"Kriya, just get ready in an hour and rush to Cafe Mocha."

"But why?" she asked surprised.

"Well, first promise you won't say no."

"Ok, fine. Tell me now." she said giving up.

"Kriya, it's actually a blind date." she said nonchalantly.

"What? blind date? For whom?" she asked shocked.

"for you of course!" Neha answered calmly.

"I don't need a blind date! Stop it Neha!" Kriya said shouting on the phone.

"You promised you would Kriya."

"Promise! My foot! Stop annoying me!!" she replied fuming with anger.

"Mere liye blind date? This is outrageous." Kriya continued.

"Listen Kriya, I just want you to meet him." Neha replied trying to calm her down.

"I don't want to meet anyone!" she answered instantly.

"Kriya, just calm down and please hear me out first." Neha requested.

"Go on" Kriya replied.

"Look, you aren't dating anyone presently. He is a good friend of mine. So, what's wrong in just meeting him?"

"But I don't want anyone but'" Kriya stopped midway.

"But?" Neha repeated while smiling at her response.

"Nothing! I am not meeting anyone and that's final." Kriya announced.

"Listen, now I guess I have to tell you everything. Vicky aur meri bet lagi hai ki tum blind date par aaogi ya nahi. Wo kehta hai tum nahi aaogi because Rey ko acha nai lagega."

"Rey ko'" Kriya spoke to herself but loud enough for Neha to hear that but she pretended she didn't hear anything and continued.

"But, maine kaha Rey toh sirf uska acha dost hai, usseh kya problem hogi. Right?"

"Haan? Right." she replied while deep in her thoughts.

"So, I said I'll convince Kriya and she will definitely come. So, just get ready and please aa jana, just for half an hour, please."

"Ok Neha. Just for you aa jaungi." she replied giving in.

"Acha, aur koi sexy si dress mein aana. Ok?"

"Kya? Is that also a part of the bet?" she asked while rolling her eyes.

"Well, haan."

"Tum dono pagaal ho!" Kriya said irritated.

"Baaki baatein baad mein sweatheart. Bye." Neha smiled.

"Bye!" Kriya put the phone down immediately.

Neha cuts the call and winks at Vicky who was right beside her listening to everything.

"Yeh bet wala part wasn't included in our plan." he said.

"I know, but whatever came to my mind, I just said that. I had to be spontaneous. We had to convince her by any way possible, so this is It." she explained.

"Plan A shuru!" she said excitedly.

"Par isseh problems aur badh nai jayengi? I mean how will Rey react to all this, that she is going out with someone?"

"No, Vicky. I am sure this will work. Iss plan se humare 2 targets achieve honge.

1. Kriya ka thought process. She will start thinking more about Rey and will question herself on each and every action.

2. Rey will definitely be jealous. Jealous hoke, wo zaroor caf mein aayega and then we'll start with plan B." she elucidated.

"Kya baat, kya baat, kya baat!" Vicky replied enthusiastically.

Kriya went to Rey's room to inform him about the so called 'blind date' and tell him that she'll be back soon.

However, just then she received a message from Neha.

Kriya don't tell Rey anything about the bet.Ok? else, wo Vicky ko sab kuch bata dega.

Fine she replied.

"So Kriya won't tell anything to Rey?" Vicky asked inquisitively.

"She will." Neha answered calmly.

"But, tumne toh usseh mana kia?"

"Phir bhi wo batayegi, maybe not initially but then she will share everything with him. Rey ka reaction he aise hoga." Neha replied feeling extremely confident of what's going to happen next.

"Rey, well, I received a call from Neha, just a few minutes back and she has planned a blind date for me." she spoke up hesitantly.

"I said no, but then she forced me to come, even if it's just for half an hour. So, should I go?" she asked more to herself than to him and waited for his response.

"It's totally your call Kriya. I am no one to decide that for you." he answered feeling quite annoyed.

Rey left his room and Kriya followed him trying to explain.

His words pained her, 'I am no one to decide'.

"I know I have hurt you Rey, but Neha ne mujhe fassa dia hai." she told herself.

"Don't say that Rey. You know you really mean a lot to me." she answered.

"Kriya, I am just your friend." he said more to himself than to her.

"I have no right to decide who you should go out with. It's totally your call." he continued.

"You are more than a friend to me. You are not just a friend. You are my really good friend. You know you are important to me." she clarified.

"Hmmm'" he just nodded.

Rey himself was confused with his actions. How could he guide Kriya, when he himself was so muddled?

"Why did it bother him so much? Why did it affect him so much that I am going out with someone?" Kriya thought to herself.

"Rey, well, it's actually because of a bet'." she trailed off and told him everything.

She just couldn't bear that Rey was so annoyed and disturbed. She trusted him beyond measure and knew that telling Vicky about the bet was no way any acceptable reason to hide all this from her special friend. She was now certainly relaxed that Rey wasn't sad anymore.

"Neha and Vicky! They are mad."

"I'll just call up Vicky, this is so infuriating!" he continued.

"No Rey, I actually told Neha that I won't tell you anything about this, so please."

"Then why did you tell me?" he asked while closing the space between them.

"Because'" before she could complete Neha called her up and reminded her that she needs to get ready.

Kriya rushed to her room and came out in exactly 20 minutes.

"So, how am I looking?" she asked Rey who was busy on his laptop.

He looked up from the screen and saw a stunning and gorgeous Kriya. She has straightened her hair and the royal blue dress complimented her small figure.

"She never fails to surprise me." he said mentally and just smiled.

"Hot lag rahi hun na?" Kriya asked while Rey was finding the right words.

"Super-hot?" she said giving him options of more adjectives.

Rey got up from his chair and came closer to her.

"You look nice." was all he said while his deep breaths sent a shiver down Kriya's spine because of the immediacy.

"Just nice?" she asked quite annoyed.

She had expected him to be speechless or shower her with tons of compliments.

"Yeah!" he answered as a matter of fact.

"Fine. Bye, I am going." she said feeling exasperated.

"Can I drop you?"

"No need. I'll take a cab."

"Enjoy your evening." he teased while she shut the door and left.

"Super-hot" he said to himself.

Vicky and Neha had already arrived at Cafe Mocha.

"Why hasn't this guy turned up yet? Kriya kabhi bhi aati hogi." Vicky said infuriatingly.

"I don't know. Kaha toh tha be here at sharp 7" Neha replied.

Just then Neha received a message from Kriya that she'll be there in 10 minutes.

"Just call him up. Kriya will be here in 10 minutes." Neha said feeling quite tensed if they will be able to execute their plan successfully.

"His phone is still switched off. Pata nahi kahaan maar gaya." Vicky replied while dialling the number for the umpteenth time.

"Ab tumhe he kuch karna hoga Vicky!"

"No, Neha. I can't do this."

"Tumhe he banana hoga Kriya ka blind date."

I know this part wasn't that good. Even i am not really satisfied with this part but i just wrote whatever came to my mind and i hope it isn't 'really pathetic!'.

The next part shall be updated only by next week since i have an exam this Sunday.
