Chapter 1 ' Introduction

A guy is sleeping on his bed, with blanket spread all over and two-three pillows down on the floor. He is sleeping on his stomach with a hand under his pillow n another at his side.

He hears his phone ringing and turns his head towards the other side, and tries to cover his ears with a small pillow by his side. But, the ringing doesn't stop, frustrated he reaches his hand over the side table and picks up his phone. We hear his manly voice

G:"Hello"

G:"kya hai yaar? Why do u have to wake me at this time? Ur an enemy of my sleep...whole night u wont let me sleep and morning also u wake me early"

G:"What? Ok fine am coming to pick u...give me 15mins...ya ok byeee"

He keeps his phone then turns over and gets up. He stretches himself and opens his dark chocolate brown eyes, with his hair messed up and falling on his forehead.. he looks what girls call "cute"...he gives a small dimpled smile to himself in the mirror

G:"Good morning Samrat...get ready for a new year of the university...new and the last year"

He gets up from his bed...we see he is shirtless and isn't that muscular but he sure does have abs...he is wearing jeans below. He has a tattoo on his left side of the chest. A huge one. There is a huge Heart shape just at the position where our hearts is with a huge animal type structure below and above it is a huge blank place..something left to fill. The animal is in the standing position having a fun and mischievous look indicating that Samrat is in the fun stage of his life. On both the left and right side of the heart there is a kind of blank spot as if something as to be filled in there(the whole tattoo would be out in clear by the end of the story. Patience readers this journey has just started). He walks towards his window and opens the curtain letting the sun rays fall inside the room and lighten up the place kissing his smiling face. He opens the window breathing in the fresh air and let the wind pass through his silky black hair and exposed chest..giving him an ethereal feeling.

He turns around and walks into the washroom to get ready for a new day!

Scene shifts

A girl is standing with her back towards us, we can see by her posture that she is waiting for someone. She keeps checking her watch indicating that the person is late.

A bike zooms in and comes up by her side. The person removes his helmet and let his silky black hair be kissed by the wind.

G:"Nups.."

The girls turns around and we look at her wearing a purple top with black leggings...her hazel eyes highlighted by kohl. Her lips painted with gloss. With her brown hair tied up neatly,leaving two-three strands curled and falling on her, She is looking like an angel, but is she one?

Nupur:"Ur late Mr.Shergill!!!"

Sam:" sorry babes...m only late five minutes na...now come, sit quickly and lets go"

She sits on his bike and they zoom off towards their university

They were two most popular people of the town ' Samrat Shergill and Nupur Shah. They are best friends and no-one dare messes with them. Guys keep their hands off Nupur because Samrat has threatened them that he will kill anyone who comes close to her without her permission. For Nupur, Samrat is her mate and she can do anything for him. But he doesn't reciprocate her feelings. For him, its pure friendship. She believes that someday Samrat will realise she is the one for him and accept her. She awaits for that day.

Samrat is a self-confessed player...He does date a lot of girls but never mistreats them. He makes it clear that the relationship is for little fun and nothing more. He makes sure the girls don't get too attached to him, making it difficult for them to leave him. He has never broken a heart. He knows his mate has to be someone unique who can lead his group, be by his side and handle the responsibilities. He is unaware of Nupur's growing love towards him.

Nupur's pov

Omg, he smells so good..How come he smells this good every single day? Or is it just me who thinks this? Afterall he is my mate right? But then why doesn't he feel the same for me? Mates recognise each other instantly in our kind then why cant he? Why am i having a exciting feeling about this year?

I know its our last year and by the end of the year Samrat And Me will be married (maybe to each other or to...no no each other only) and also he will succeed his father And I too will succeed mine as we will be 18. But what if he finds someone else??

Nupur relax...take a deep breath...thats right...calm urself. U and Samrat have been together from childhood...u will stay together forever...Just calm down. Nothing will go wrong.

She closes her eyes...inhales huge amount of air and opens her eyes shockingly then looks at the mirror of the bike and sees Samrat looking at her from the same with questioning look

Samrat's Pov

I had asked Nupur if she is ready to meet her mate this year cause in our kind we find our mates at this age so that we can get married and take up our responsibilities as soon as the university is over. I did not get any reply from her and that worried me. Nupur was the talkative one. She was ready with her replies even before i asked her the question. Why was she so quiet? What was she thinking? She is definitely not scared or nervous for the new year...thats just not Nupur..she was always confident and bold.

I heard her take a deep breath. Okay now thats weird..she does that only when she is getting scared and hyper about something...what is it? I look at her from the mirror.I see her open her eyes jerkily as if she smelt something she didn't think of. I saw her look at me from the same mirror and i gave her a questioning look.

She shacked her head and mouthed "i am fine". I nodded and looked in the front. If anything was wrong, she would tell me only when she is comfortable. I didn't push her...i never did, she would always come up and tell me whats bothering her and i knew she was thinking the same right now.

Nupurs Pov

Thank god he didn't ask me anything. He never did and thats why he is my bestest friend and mate? I smelt something in the air which made my heartbeat go wild. It must be my imagination. Pushing away all the thoughts i returned back to the real world enjoying the bike ride with my mate

Scene Shifts

We see a figure standing in the middle of a forest. The place around him is fully cleared and there is a cottage too.

Mysterious POV

I smelled something..something like vanilla? It made me breathless. Only one word came out of my mouth "MATE"...who was it? I didn't even know who the smell belonged to. But it smelled so good. I wish i could cuddle that person and make her mine forever

I mentally slapped myself. Come out of ur dreams!! I screamed to myself. I pushed the thoughts away and started preparing for my mission. I was here in this town for a purpose i couldn't let anything divert my mind.

The person went inside the cottage to get ready.

Scene Shifts

Samrat and Nupur reached their University. Their bike entered the huge black gates of the uni. One could feel the college type feeling. People sitting in groups...laughing and joking around. Some new faces...few of them scared and nervous while the rest confident and bold. All the girls were staring at Samrat in awe and glaring at Nupur with jealousy while the guys did just the opposite. A group of people came and surrounded the two of them and both of them went inside with the group

Samrat's Pov

I parked my bike and got down. I smirked seeing the girls stare at me as if i am god and the guys looking jealous yet scared of me. I looked at Nupur and she too had the same smirk on her face. We both were used to such an reaction from humans. Ah humans...the weak emotional ones...atleast weaker than us but emotionally stronger. In our kind, relations were important. Anyone who did something to hurt someone of his relatives or his pack or his friends was punished. But humans? Well they were different...they had much more freedom in terms of relations than we did. I sometimes envied them for what they have but i am proud of what i am...and i wouldn't change it for anything.

I saw my group walk over to Nupur and me. My second best friend " Benji" in short for Benjamin Pride leaded the group. He gave me a friendly hug.

B:"Sam! Its so nice meeting u after long"

S:"oh shut up benji! Don't act like a despo. We met in the night and had a blast remember?."

The humans nearby gasped and were giving us dirty looks. I turned towards them and said

S:"what? U didn't know me and benji were u know...involved in...stuff together?

I pressed my body against his trying to show as if in a intimate position.

Benji pushed me away and said with a horror-stricken face

B:"GET THE HELL AWAY FROM ME!!! Chiii! Am not like u sam!!"

I started laughing seeing his face...Benji gave wonderful reactions at times...those which would crack u up and his one liners were gud...but the key word here is "AT TIMES". Rest of the time, he was lame.

Seeing me laugh...the humans relaxed as they realised i was just messing around.

I then felt a feminine hand catch my arm and turning me towards her. I looked down to see "Alice". My girlfriend for over a week now, i think. Usually i would have given her a kiss by now but something in her eyes told me i shouldn't.

I looked past her and saw a man staring at me as if i was threat. I sniffed the air around him and realised he was one of us.

I felt Alice hugging me and whispering in my ears, "Meet me behind the school building in 10mins. I need to talk to u."

I nodded my head as i hugged her back inhaling her scent. She smelt good but not that good to make my heart flutter with utter joy and need.

I gave a kiss on her forehead and moved back.

I turned and left with my gang.

Nupur's Pov

I saw Samrat hug n kiss Alice. I felt a pang of jealousy and sadness within me. He dates a lot of girls though he never gets too intimate with them. Whenever i see him with any other girl i get hell jealous. Ofcourse i would get...afterall he was my mate and i didn't deny it. But why doesn't he see me? Am i not beautiful? Am i not worth his time? Does he know we are mates but ignoring me till he can reject me?

I was struck with horror...no no no that would never happen,

But then why? Why didn't he date me??...i felt bad but there was nothing i could do...so i turned my gaze away and concentrated on what my girl friends were talking on.

G1:" Nupur have u heard there is a new guy in town?"

N:"really? I didn't hear anything of that sort"

G2:" yes there is...and my my..he is freaking sexy."

N:"oh okay"

G1:"okay? Thats what u gotta say?? Nupur i have never seen u dating anyone...u should really try for this guy and obviously no one can resist your charms, he'll be head over heels in love with you in no time."

Stupid girls. Didnt they know i want Samrat and Samrat only. no other guy pleases me or catches my attention

N:"i don't date humans"

It was the best reason to tell them.

G2:"He isn't a human. He is one of us."

What?? There was someone of our kind in the town who isn't in our group and i didn't know about it? WHAT THE HELL?

G2:"he is the son of the head of Shadow pack. He is here for only this year. Obviously"

Shadow pack?? Omg those were one of the strongest pack next to ours and from what i have heard they don't mingle with other packs. They keep their distance. Why was the future head here? Is there something i am unaware of? I need to talk to Samrat and my dad. Maybe they know something about it or maybe am just thinking way too much...if there was any threat i would be knowing by now right?

Oh god Nupur whats wrong with u today? U have been stressing and over thinking on all matters. Just shut ur brain off for sometime and enjoy urself. I successfully changed the topic with my girls and walked in the school. Before walking i saw a sight which again crushed my heart

Samrat was sneaking behind the building to meet alice. What were they going to do? Just by imagining the scenes i was overcome with grief. But i couldn't help but open our mind link which i closed when i thought about Samrat, i searched for the link with Samrat and settled on my seat in the canteen when i found him.

Benjamin Pride: He is 5'11. He is Samrat's closest friend after everyone in the emotional level. He notices Nupur's attraction Nupur. He is the son of second chief in commander of the group. He is funny and can make anyone laugh. He also bonds with towards Samrat and tries warning his friend. He has black eyes which turns light brown. He is attractive but not as much as the leads.

Alice: Alice is a character whose importance will come slowly in later chapters. She is samrat's last fling! (yes no more Samrat's flings and dates in the story except with gunjan). She has found her mate and leaves Samrat. She does explain everything to him and only then leaves him. She is sweet and bubbly. Her mate is Jeb, a member of shadow pack whose character will be giver later. Alice has blue eyes. She is 5'6 and has a body to die for.

Shadow pack: A pack consisting of around 500 people. Its the strongest pack after Samrat's. They are very reserved people and keep their distance from other packs. Mayank is the future head of this pack. The members here are arrogant at times but good at heart. They don't let anyone too close unless its the mate of one of their members. They are mean and cruel to anyone who does wrong and tries harming them. They are one of the most feared as well as respected pack.
